  1. Deal me in.
  2. Yes - I know the front page isn't working right now. I'm aware of the issue. Unfortunately I won't be able to fix it until tonight. So hang in there unti then. Thanks! Glenn
  3. Where did you move from? I'm curious to what you're comparing it to. Also, when did you fish it? Spring, summer, fall, winter?
  4. Other than the part where he's standing up in the driver's seat trying to see over the bow, you got it right!
  5. LOL!!! Those are some fat pigs! Way to go!
  6. I have always admired Patton, along with Brady - two great leaders during WWII. But alas, I most resemble Wesley Clark. Well alrighty then!
  7. Details, details. Ok. It's my bread-n-butter setup: 3/4oz Hank Parker spinnerbait. I attach at white lumiflex skirt with a pearl white Zoom split-tail trailer. In this case, I dipped the tail in chartruese Spike-it because that seemed to be the way the bass want all their plastics down there. Keri caught hers on a 1/4-ounce Warrior spinnerbait - white - right out of the package. I caught the big one in an area where a 3-4' creek channel empties onto a wide flat that's about 1 1/2' deep. That spot is where the channel forms and was the deepest area of the flat. I think it was a natural funnel area. The other two were caught in grass in 2-3' water. Keri's was sitting on the grassy, stumpy edge of a roadbed, and the 8-pounder was in a giant grassy flat out in the middle of the lake. We were just fan-casting spinnerbaits over them. Retrieve was fairly fast. We caught a handful of smaller fish on the edges of private boat ramps scattered about the lake. The real scary thing about Dean is that he called the shot not once, but twice! We would pull up to a spot, and he would say, "Cast right over to that dark patch of weeds, I guarantee there's a fish there" and he was right!
  8. Fantastic smallies! Woo Hoo! Am I ever envious!
  9. 9-pound 1-ounce during the 2nd Annual BassResource.com Lake Fork Trip! What's really cool is having somebody (Russ!) in another boat videotape the whole thing! It's in this clip: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1175252828
  10. I hope y'all know Muddy is laughing right along with us. After he calmed down, he and Ron were laughing just as hard as we were! Ok, I have to tell you one story that gives you some insight into just how funny Muddy really is. On the last morning we were there, we all went out to breakfast. When the waitress first approached our table, she cheerfully said, "Where ya'll from?", and we all kinda chuckled. She looked perplexed, so I said, "Sound off". What followed was string of cities and states that sounded like we were taking turns reading the Almanac. She finally stopped us and said, "And you're all here together?! But... how do you ya'll know one another?" And without so much as missing a beat, Muddy says, "Our father got around!!" Oh man! My stomach hurt after that!
  11. Ok, so now that the video is out, I can finally tell y'all about the big fish Keri & I caught. Here's Keri's new PB - a 7-pound 8-ounce lunker Here's the 8-pound 1-ounce pig that WOULD have been my new PB! Just look at the gut on this girl And here's the 9-pound 1-ounce Lake Fork Hawg! The most amazing thing of all, was that all three were caught on the same day! All were caught on spinnerbaits. After fishing for 3 days watermelon plastics just like the locals said I should, and not having great results, I finally fell back to the "Throw what you know" rule and picked up a spinnerbait - my #1 confidence bait. I had hooked the hawg the day before on a plastic lizard, I'm certain of it, as it was in the same 25' area. She came off, so I went back there the next day with a spinnerbait. I bumped what I thought at first was a stump. I popped it kept it coming to the boat. I thought to myself, "I don't recall a stump being around there, so maybe that was a fish." So I cast right back there again, brought my spinnerbait back over the "stump".... nothing. I thought, "You're right! It WAS a fish. Dangit! I should have set the.." WHAM!!! and it was a battle from there! Many thanks to Russ for catching it on video. It's one thing to catch your personal best, but to do it in front of your friends (several boats in the area were BassResourcers) AND have it caught on tape is truly amazing! The other two pigs were caught while on a guide trip later that day with Dean Stroman. I need to let y'all now what a true gentleman and professional he is. On Monday he took us out. The angry winds made it difficult for us to fish, and we netted out with about 7 fish, all between 2-5 pounds. At the end of the day, Dean said, "Don't pay me. I know this lake and I can do better. Since you're staying here this whole week, let me take you out again free of charge so I can make it up to you." Say what?!! Yup, you heard me. Now when was the last time you ever heard a guide do that!? Never I bet. The result was Keri's PB and my second lunker of the day! Many thanks to Dean! An incredible guide, fun to be around, and true Southern Gentleman! Keri and Professional Guide Dean Stroman P.S. Many of you don't know it, but Dean writes articles for this site. Just do a search for his name on the main page to find them.
  12. *Phew* Now I can finally exhale! Not saying a word about the 9-pounder was KILLING me!! Russ - another fine, outstanding job on the video! Nice work! I was going to say this, but Norman already beat me to it, but I'll reiterate it here: We are all in debt to Russ for making this thing happen. From concept through completion, Russ was the driving force behind this trip. So a heartfelt thanks goes out to you!! And Norman, thank you for the kind words. You're very gracious. There's other folks I need to thank as well. In no particular order: Dan & Linda for their wonderful hospitality. Everyone there would agree they bent over backwards to accomodate our large group. Art - for driving in the middle of the night to get folks to Fork.... and then driving 1 1/2 hrs BACK home, only to turn around and come back again early the next morning. Alpster and Fletchero (Ronnie & Keith) - Thank you so much for the wonderful custom rods. These are well-crafted pieces of artwork! I was stunned when you presented them to Keri & I. You truly caught me off guard. I can't thank you enough. I know a lot of time and effort went into them. Keri & I will put them to good use! Brent from *** who gave out samples to all of us to try, and for taking Russ out on the water and being the camera boat. For those that weren't there, it was my pleasure to give away $25 Bass Pro Shops gift certificates to the cooks for all their hard work in making outstanding meals for the rest of us; Ronnie (Alpster) for his generousity with the Bass Bus; Dominick (Muddy Man) for his spirited contributions to the forums that helps make BassResource.com so unique; and Craigaria for making oodles of BassResource.com decals on his own initiative and not asking a dime in return. It was also my honor to give each of the moderators $100 gift certificates for all the hard work they do on these forums. Without them, there's no way I can do what I do! One person was missing, however, and that was Avid. He did a tremendous job putting together all the finer details of the trip, making it easier on the rest of us. And although he wasn't able to make it, I still want to thank him by giving him a $25 Bass Pro Shops gift certificate as well. Avid - check your mailbox. It should arrive soon! And finally, I owe amount of gratitude to my wife for not only "allowing" me to work on this site, but pushing me to pursue my goals and ambitions with it. Without her as the driving force, BassResource.com wouldn't be as good as it is today. A note to those on dial-up: right-click the video links and select "save as", and save the files to your desktop and then play them from there. These are huge downloads, but well worth the wait!! Norman summed it up better than I can. I really cannot add much to that. What an incredible trip! What an incredible group! What an incredible week!!

  14. Glitch in the forum. I've been working on the issue, but it's being stubborn. No worries, RW isn't gone. In fact, he can still login and post per usual. It just displays weird right now.
