  1. I have serious issues with that. Post them here, and you won't be here any longer.
  2. I had a chance to check out the full lineup at ICAST. Pretty sweet rods. When I talked to him last week, he said he wanted to have rods that were unique and different than what was already on the market. Sweet rods.
  3. Looking for somebody who is fluent with Photoshop - particularly for designing web pages. We are creating a microsite for the annual roadtip, and I'm looking for somebody who wants to help by creating a few pages that are very professional looking, clean, and follows standard usability guidelines. PM me if you're interested. Thanks! Glenn
  4. Sorry, but .... you're wrong. KVD endorses it because it works - very well. L&L not only coats the line, it penetrates it and fills in the small imperfections on the line's surface. Real Magic can actually strip a layer off your line, reducing it's strength. I have to admit, the first time I tried it, I was skeptical. It was like milky water - seemed to be not much more than that. I let it soak overnight, then went fishing in the morning. I immediately noticed a difference. Casting was much easier, and backlashes came out much easier. All this without any oily residue. Great stuff!
  5. Brilliant idea Mike!

  9. Unfortunately theives are everywhere. They steal whenever and wherever the boat is unattended, even when it's attached to your truck and you're asleep in the back of it! Be forewarned - protect your boat whenever you're not on it. They have locking bolts for props and wheels, extra locks for storage compartments, and event locking mounts for electronics these days. If nothing else, always put the cover on it as it makes it less of an easy target. Cheap insurance!
  10. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!! Hey folks, sounds like everyone is getting amped for the trip - outstanding!! Looking forward to meeting everyone. We've been working hard on ironing out all the logistics so that it will be the best event ever! To that end, we've discovered the dates we picked happen to fall upon the same dates of the World Series of Quilting (no kidding!). The problem is that every room that can be rented within a 50 mile radius is already booked!! They book this event 3 years in advance - go figure! Furthermore, most people begin arriving early and some stay late, making it difficult for a group of our size to book a block of rooms/cabins close together on either the preceding or following week. After discussing this with the planning committee, and weighing the options (and most importantly, when is the best fishing), we unanimously decided to change the dates to April 5 - 10. Please make a note of it. Many thanks to Alpster, RiskKid, RoadWarrior, Ghoti, and CJ for scouting locations and doing all the research, and presenting the team with recommendations. Hopefully this doesn't cause any problems, as it's 8 months away. And hopefully the folks who couldn't make it before, will be able to make it now. My apologies if this creates any issues for you. 11. Welcome Home!
  12. Welcome Home!
  13. Tube on a jighead.
  14. Please read the Senko FAQ's. There's LOT'S of threads listed there comparing the original to other makes. Too much to list, and more said there than what anyone could add here.
  15. Buy it. Get TrendMicro's PC-cillin. Also get Adaware and Spybot - these are anti-malware programs, not anti-virus programs. Both have free versions.
  16. He's been here every day. Just very, very busy.
  17. Thanks guys. Bigbass - I presume that was BEFORE Sunday's front hit?
  18. You would think he gets tired talking about fishing, but he lights up when the subject comes up. Listening to him recount his experience of catching a 14-pounder, you would've thought it happened yesterday. Of course, being the crankbait fanatic that he his, I picked up a few tidbits about crankbait fishing, as well as swimbait fishing too. Islandbass - we fished 10'-50' deep using dropshots, splitshots, jigs, and shakey heads to no avail. You know what the weather was like on Sunday, and especially Monday. Arguably the worst possible fishing conditions. Yes, too bad he didn't catch anything, but it goes to show you that even the best of the best struggle sometimes. They're human too. At least now I won't feel so bad when I strike out..... often. :
  19. Nope, can't trace it UNLESS you have LoJack installed. I have it on my laptop. Unless that's installed, then I'm sorry, but it would be nearly impossible to trace over the internet. Sorry to break the news.
  20. Yes, you read that right. Mike Iaconelli was in Seattle Monday taping a segment of "City Limits" on Lake Washington. Back at the Classic, we talked about doing a show here, and he followed through. Thing is, the TV producer thought it would be great to do a SALMON show too, plus bass fishing! UGH! Long story short (really long story), Mike went fishing with a salmon guide in the morning, then met me at the locks to do the bass fishing segment at 11:00. 11:00 rolls by... and gone....several phone calls of "running a little late" later, and I meet them at 1:00. I learn that they didn't catch any salmon. Well, to maintain continuity, the producer decided to keep the salmon guide to do the bass fishing segment as well, and use my boat for the camera crew. Oh well, at least I get to see how it's done, right? Bass fishing from a salmon boat... this ought to be interesting. heh, heh It took Mike 10 mins to decide this wasn't going to work. New plan! Use Glenn's boat! So we swap boats. Remember now, this was the day after a major cold front dropped temps by more than 20 degrees. By now a north breeze is getting stronger as another front approaches (we had no idea just how mammoth that front was!). A north wind on Lake Washington means the bite is very tough, to say the least. Needless to say, Lake Washington shut down. The bite was non-existent. Even a Classic champion and AOY like Mike couldn't muster a bite, other than a few perch. Bummer - I really wanted the rest of the country to see how good the bass fishing is here. Mike didn't give up, however. We hit several spots as the front approaches. The wind got stronger and colder, then the rain came..... then thunder and lightening. It took about 30 mins to convince him to come off the water - he was determined to catch one. However, several close lightening flashes finally got him to put his rod down and put the boat on the trailer. Fishless. Later that evening, we learned just how bad the storm really was as a funnel cloud was spotted not to far from where we were! (aside from the torrential rain pouring down and the lightening!) This was a one-in-a-decade storm, and as luck would have it, it happened on THAT day! On Tuesday, they did the beauty shots of Seattle, including Mike throwing fish at Pike Place Market. They interviewed me to talk about the previoius day and about bass fishing in Washington. Who knows if they'll use any of it. I may end up on the editing room floor once they see my ugly mug on the screen. ;D Not sure if this show will ever air, given no fish were caught. They're going to check with the network to see if they have to use it. They may come back to reshoot it later this year or next year, not sure. If it does air, I'll let you know when. Here are the pics: Trying to fish from a salmon boat THAT didn't last long! ;D Is that thunder? All-in-all, had a great time hanging out with the crew and Ike. Had about 2 hrs just shooting the breeze with him as we were waiting to shoot my interview. Looks like we'll be fishing together again at the Classic next February. I left out a lot of details here. Not sure if any of this is interesting, so I didn't want to bore anyone. Feel free to ask questions if you're curious. Glenn
  21. Welcome Home!
  22. That's really weird. We just had a tournament this weekend, and had the exact opposite results - the fish wouldn't hit our baits UNTIL we dipped them in JJ's. We threw several times in one spot without a bite, dipped it (soaked the entire bait for 5 secs, then let it dry), and BAM! Immediate strike. We were using the clear color, so it's obvious the scent made the difference. We used Megastrike too. And although Megastrike didn't seem to produce more strikes as above, the bass obviously held onto the lure longer - as much as 30 seconds before setting the hook! And in head-to-head comparisons, squaw fish prefer JJ's. ;D
  23. Welcome Home!
  24. Woo Hoo!!! Congrats!!
