Up here in earthquake country, we're very prepared. I have 4 red cross emergency kits - enough for 4 people each. Have an assortment of flashlights, radios, and water. We also have a 12 person emergency food kit - enough food for 5 days. We also have earthquake insurance. The only thing we don't have is a generator - yet. That's on the list.
One note - be sure to have some cash stashed somewhere, as no store will accept plastic when the power is out. A lot of people learned that the hard way when we were without power for a week. Also have plenty of gas for the generator. No power=no operating gas stations. A lot of people used up their fuel in 2 days, and then were SOL.
Just has a minor tremor yesterday. A reminder to replace the water stockpile. Nature never sleeps.
