    Hi

    Welcome Home!
  11. Welcome Home!
  12. Welcome Home!
  13. Well shoot, a little research on the web and, yes, I need to get new tires. Found some great reading worth checking out: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoSeparationAnxiety.dos http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTrailerTireFacts.dos
  14. Hey believe it or not, I have a question: How often do you guys swap out your trailer tires for new ones? Ours have a lot of tread left on them, yet they're 6 yrs old. What's the criteria for replacing them? Should I get new ones due to their age, or can I hold off without worry?
  15. Yes, LBH is correct, we're not ignoring this thread. Just trying to digest it and discuss feasibility. My main concern with YouTube is that after a video has played, a list of suggested videos is displayed. I have no control over that, and some of the suggested videos may not be suitable for this site. Having people submit the videos to us directly would solve that problem, but then that means reviewing video after video and deciding whether or not to post them, based upon an ultimately subjective set of criteria, which would be open to criticism. Not to mention the time to post them, host them, and pay for the bandwidth and hard drive space. So rest assured, we're discussing the challenges as well as pros/cons and feasibilities. As always, I really appreciate the ideas and feedback. Incorporating those ideas is the reason why we're the #1 bass fishing site on the Internet. So I don't plan on ignoring those ideas any time soon. 8-)
  16. As with most anything regarding bass fishing, the answer is "it depends'. I've had days where the wind blowing up on a bank was absolutely key to catching bass. And they simply weren't there when the wind wasn't blowing. The same can be true about points. That said, the opposite can be true as well. Some banks, points, and pocket are very productive when it's calm, and desolate when it's windy. Clearer water tends to have better fishing with a chop on the water than when it's calm. I believe this is because the light underwater is broken up more. Time of year seems to be factor too. At least for me, in the colder months the wind tends to kill the bite, whereas the warmer months it could be beneficial. A cold north wind on my home lakes signals a good day to stay home and work on the "honey do" list. So the key is to try different areas with and without the wind, and take note which conditions produce better for specific areas.
  17. I had a 17' aluminum boat with a 12v MG and had a lot of problems. The gears on the head kept popping off and disengaging. I lost count how many times it did that, despite getting it "repaired" several times. I got pretty good and taking it apart and putting it back together again though. LOL! I've had my MK for going on 6 years now without a single problem In addition, I'm convinced the variable start/stop spooks less fish, plus it's a heck of a lot more weedless than my MG ever hoped to be! I can go 4-wheeling through weeds like butter. My father has a new MG on his 16-footer, and I used it last summer. Sure enough I found myself getting stuck in the weeds more than a few times, in areas my MK would slice through.
  18. I was with the Lowrance folks the day they announced it. I saw the demo units and it looks pretty sweet! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/lowrance-side-finder-09.html
  19. Seems these days it's just too darn easy to pick out what we don't like. So... what do you like about them?
  20. I can understand why you're upset. However, it doesn't sound to me that you've tried contacting UPS to file a grievance. As I've stated elsewhere on these forums, this site isn't a place to attempt to resolve issues with companies. You need to work it out directly with them. I can sympathize with your frustration, and understand your need to vent. But please contact UPS directly and demand a satisfactory resolution.
  21. There's a sucker born every minute. You'd be shocked to learn how many people fall for scams like that.
  22. If you have an issue with a company, this is NOT the place to resolve them. Airing your grievances in a public forum is passive-aggressive at best, and rarely ends with positive results. You need to contact them directly and work it out privately. In addition, I will not allow BassResource.com to be used as a soapbox.
  23. Man what a pain! I just hate stuff like that. I don't understand the motives to screw up some innocent persons' computer like that.
  24. Have a great well-deserved vacation!
  25. Quick tip on loading your boat: Back the trailer in all the way - get all the bunks completely wet. This usually means the fenders on the trailer go under water. Then pull it back up to "normal" level for loading. (To the observer, you "accidentally" went in too far, and then pulled up.) With the bunks wet, power loading usually isn't needed. The boat glides right on as you drive it in under idle speed. If anything, a short burst is all you'll need. This also saves wear and tear on your bunks. Our boat is 6 years old and bunks look brand new, despite heavy use.
