  1. Because social media is the best source of information.
  2. It's going to be above average temps in my neck of the woods, hovering right around 50. Overall, it's been an unusually warm winter so far.
  3. That's probably Iron ochre. It forms when groundwater that flows through iron-containing soils picks up iron and brings it to the surface. The iron then reacts with oxygen in the air to create iron oxides, which form the orange sludge. Iron ochre can be found in slow-moving drainage and french drains. It often smells like sulphur or rotten eggs. Since it forms naturally, it is not harmful nor toxic to a lake in small- to moderate-amounts. In very large quantities, it can smother aquatic plants and clog fish gills, causing cause great harm to the fishery.

  5. Spinnerbaits are my confidence lure. This is an older video, but everything in it still holds true today:
  6. Gamakatsu is 40 mins from my house. I've been there. We've fished together. We've been to Japan together. They sent me a bunch of Japanese baits for Christmas. We've met. I've been using and sharpening their hooks since 1992, when they were first introduced in America. That "guide" is smoking crack. All hooks, regardless of how they arrive in the package, can be sharpened at any time. My friends at Gamakatsu get that deer-in-the-headlights look when somebody infers you cannot sharpen a hook for whatever reason. Here's how to get them razor sharp once they start to dull (note the Gamakatsu jighead in the video):

    New Year

Thank you @Jigfishn10 and I hope your parents age well and you can still reminisce with them through 2025. Happy New Year!
  8. Just close your eyes and imagine him in frigid weather. You got this!
  9. Watch Mike McClelland from BassResource as he breaks down everything you need to know about winter crankbait fishing. Don’t let the cold hold you back—there’s fish to catch! Watch now and get ready to reel in some monsters this winter!
  10. Well...no, Mann's is not out of business. In fact, they're about ready to grow. I don't think I'm at liberty to say any more at this time, so stay tuned.
  11. Take an exclusive deep dive into fuzzy baits, a new bait style you won’t want to miss!
  12. This video goes beyond wearing a life jacket. Really it should be viewed by anyone that floats on the water.
  13. It's a refund from a magazine subscription. That's all.
  14. And so, this one too. Suffice to say, people LIKE the IDEA of a thread like this, but not enough to really have one. Please stop asking me to make one. It can't be forced.
  15. Yes, I remember everything on the water, but everything off the water is a blur. Wait...am I wearing pants??! Woa, that was close!
  16. Thanks guys, I appreciate the warm thoughts and kind words. I also appreciate the fact that others are going through similar family challenges. Nobody is immune to it, but knowing you're not alone helps. @Skunkmaster-k If you're referring to me as a "celebrity", thank you for the kind words, but I truly don’t consider myself a celebrity. I’m just someone who’s passionate about sharing knowledge and learning from others. The real value comes from the incredible people here on the forums and the wisdom we all bring to the table. I’m here to learn and grow alongside all of you.
  17. Welcome home! We're glad you're here.
  18. Welcome home! We're glad you're here.
  19. Well, he's still in the hospital and they don't know when he'll be out. He needs to be able to perform a certain level of motor skills, and he doesn't like physical therapy. Combine that with his age and....it's a struggle. He'll then be placed in a rehab center for a minimum of 3 months. Add to that, my sister's husband just got home after spending 17 days in the same hospital for his throat cancer surgery. She's taking care of him full time for the next 6 weeks, when they can remove his feeding tube. My mother passed away 2 years ago. She was the family glue. So combine all that, and you can understand why we skipped Christmas. It just felt like we would be trying to force it to happen. I don't want to be Debbie Downer, so here's hoping to better times when we can celebrate healing!
  20. Watch this:
  21. No worries. I'm just ribbin' ya!
  22. Hey now, I'm the guy behind the camera on those videos. Yes we shot that video last May, to be totally transparent. It was the only time our schedules and stars lined up to shoot videos.
