I want to personally welcome all the women who are here to check out this forum. More and more women turn to bass fishing every year as a form of relaxation, family time, and even competition. I've long welcomed this trend, and opened our Women's Fishing Section years ago in an effort to help grow this burgeoning share of the bass fishing community. With the LBAA and growth of the WBT, and the world witnessing the first woman in the Bassmaster Classic, I felt we were well on our way.
Then the WBT abruptly ended with no warning, and little explanation.
From the ashes of the WBT come great learnings. While the pundits ponder why it failed, and pointed fingers at those that closed the trail, I took a different route and looked at what I could do differently to help encourage more women to participate in the wonderful sport of bass fishing.
I'm fortunate to be married to a former WBT participant. Through her eyes, and through the numerous conversations she's had with other female pros, I soon learned there really is no place where women can collaborate, meet new friends, help each other find partners to share lodging at tournaments, find travel partners, and much, much more. Missing too was a central location where women can promote the sport and help new lady anglers get involved.
In short, there just wasn't a central locations where all women interested in bass fishing could meet and learn from other like-minded women. Until now...
I'm pleased to offer these forums as a place where women can meet, greet, collaborate, learn, and make new friends in the bass fishing community! If you're just starting out or are a seasoned pro, we welcome you all!!
