  1. Can I hear an AMEN!
  2. No, the REAL danger is when she spends MORE than you do! Welcome to MY world! ;D
  3. Problem is, some parent will sue the school district for disciplining Jr. when somebody else's Jr. wasn't for seemingly the same thing. "No tolerance" policies are designed to prevent lawsuits. Stupid, yes. Bizarre, dumb, and sometimes harsh results? Indeed. But they're a result of this sue-happy world we live in, like it or not. Again, I'm not defending the school district in any way whatsoever. Just trying to shed some light onto the reasoning behind "no tolerance" policies. Making exceptions opens the door to lawsuits. Therefore, they are incredibly strict.
  4. Well I think that's the problem. One person's "common sense" is not another's. Once you inject subjective judgement into the policy, it makes it difficult to draw a line. With a strict "no tolerance" policy, it's black and white - no ambiguity or gray areas.
  5. Bad news. Better make sure the guy checks his wiring throughout the boat. Dang pests love chewing through the stuff.
  6. Please define "zero tolerance policy". What part of that is confusing? I'm not defending the school's actions. But if they've laid out a "zero tolerance policy" in advance, then buyer beware.
  7. The written form is the written form, regardless of media or technology used to transmit or display it. I do not buy into the "I dun't hafta rite gude on da inta-net 'cuz it's da inta-net" baloney. That's simply a poor excuse. Text messaging has garnered it's own form of "shorthand" due to limited character space. Chat rooms have their own form as well, in order to facilitate rapid discussion. Neither are an excuse for purposefully using bad grammar, spelling, and writing skills outside of those channels.
  8. Nothing to be concerned about. Freshwater doesn't harm reels like saltwater does. At WORST, you would need to re-oil it. But it sounds like that isn't even necessary. My reels have gotten wetter in a heavy downpour. LOL!
  9. Thanx for the vindication. 8-) I would have pointed that out, but I can't bring myself to type more than a few sentences lately. Ah, that explains it.
  10. Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers. She passed early this morning. She was comfortable and not in any pain, which were here wishes. She went exactly as she desired. Many thanks to all of you, as I'm sure your actions helped a lot. My family and I appreciate it. It means much to us. Glenn

  23. I was wondering where you went! Keep up the good work, and don't be such a stranger!
  24. Actually Matt, it sounds like you are. I understand what he's asking completely. I've pitched as far as about 35 feet, maybe a little further. Sometimes that's what you have to do in order to get the bait back deep into cover. That said, I'd say 15-20 feet is the norm.
  25. As I write this, my 99-year-old Grandmother is lying in a bed in a nursing home, unconscious and struggling to breath. The doctors have given her 2 days to live. However, she's a very resilient woman who has fooled the doctors several times before. That said, this time is different, and the situation is very grim. Please pray that if the Lord has decided to bring her home, that her remaining time here is pain-free and comfortable. But if His desire is for her to stay with us a little longer, then pray to give her the strength to heal and come back to us. She's a very devout Christian, so I know this means a lot to her. Thank you. I appreciate it.
