  1. Hey Folks, now that it's FINALLY available I thought I'd again post the video of this bait in action. http://www.bassresource.com/Bass/Fishing/video/Wing-ding.FLV Enjoy!
  2. Woo Hoo!! Congratulations! What a great feeling that must be. The easiest advice I can give you, is to "follow the contours under the water". Look at the shoreline, then imagine that continuing under the water. For example, a point will continue under the water, with the sides tapering off just like you see above water. A slow-tapering shoreline will continue as a slow tapering flat under water. This is a general rule, but it's a start.
  3. I don't have a whole lot of expectations for the 'Hawks this year. They really can't go much lower. ;D That said, they've kept only 30 or so players from last year (so far - more might not make the team), replaced 18 of 20 coaches, and changed a lot of people in the front office. So clearly it's a rebuilding year. They've made a lot of smart changes and draft picks too. How that will play out THIS year is yet to be known. So I'm just taking a wait-n-see approach.

  5. Speed - didn't realize you were joking. my mistake. BadKarma - "Token", great feedback. Lesson learned.
  6. Tom's a great guy, so you'll have a lot of fun. But if you go again and he's booked, definitely try Dean Stroman. He's been guiding there since the lake was created, and knows it better than the back of his hand. He put us on fish even when conditions were tough - THEN apologized the bite "wasn't good enough" and took us out again a few days later for free!
  7. Here's how you remove the hook: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1128002349/16#16 It works just as easy on smallmouth as on largemouth. With practice, you can do it pretty quickly - especially if your fishing partner helps by holding the line after you pull it through the gill plate. As for any penalties for hooks in fish - I've never seen that happen at a tournament. That said, it's in the fish's best interest to remove that hook as soon as possible. Learn the technique outlined above. Once you get it down, there's no reason NOT to do it.
  8. I don't know what it is about that show, but I find it hilarious! The only thing that would make it better is if they showed some of the wipeouts backwards in slow motion. ;D
  9. Wasn't meant as a slam, Speed. It's just the state of the union. And yes, I purposefully pointed out the misspelling since you did it to me. If you take offense to it, then don't dish it out man. Simple. BadKarma - it shows that Tomlin can't build - or even sustain - a winning team, whereas Whisenhunt and Grimm built a winning team. And I'm not sure whether my statements came across as intended, so just to be crystal clear, I'm completely against discrimination in any way shape or form. I just think forcing somebody to be interviewed when they're not qualified for the position just so you can fulfill a quota is a waste of time for everyone. I speaking specifically of those situations when the best candidates for the position happen to not be minorities. In those instances, "token" interviews happen just so a quota can be met. In the other situations when the top candidates ARE minorities, then the rule isn't needed because the interviews will happen anyway. I don't know. I guess I'm color blind because I think qualifications and experience should be the only things that matter when it comes to the hiring process.
  10. Questionable exception? I'm not sure I follow. Would you mind elaborating? Grimm and Whisenhunt went on to take the losing Cardinals to 2 NFC Divisional championship games and one Superbowl appearance. And the Cardinals will be a strong team again this year. Although Tomlin did take the Stealers to another Superbowl win with a team that was handed to him, the rapid decline of this franchise since then under his command, with Rapistboerger in all his glory, paints the real story about Tomlin.
  11. Well if you believe Al Davis, this year's Raiders are like the 1980 Super Bowl champs. : Let the ticket sales begin!
  12. BaZINGaaaaaaa! ;D
  13. Speed - one questionable exception doesn't change the fact that a person should be interviewed and hired based upon their skills and abilities, not because they get a hall pass due to their age, gender, race, etc. That's not discrimination, THAT'S equality. Again, I'm speaking about the whole concept. So don't come running to me with some exception in an attempt to undermine the fact that the whole premise behind the Rooney rule is wrong. Can we get back to talking about the upcoming season now?
  14. Yep, I certainly expected somebody to mention that. I don't profess to know anything about that controversy, so I have no alliance to either side of the issue. It is what it is, and nothing can be done about it. So, now that the predictable has been said, let's move on... Oh wait! One more - the Rodney Rule regarding coach Carrol. Some are saying the Hawks did a token interview to fulfill that rule. And to that I say, "Big Whoop". Requiring candidates to be interviewed simply based on color, creed, sex, religion, etc. is wrong. They should be interviewed based on their resume, abilities, track record, etc. In other words, their qualifications for the job! So I see nothing wrong with the Hawks doing a token act to fulfill a token rule. Ok, so NOW that the predictable has been said about the new coach, let's move on.
  15. Huh? No, it was on Fox. LOL! At least it was in my area. I don't watch Nickelodeon, MTV or whatever those kids channels are. Sponge Square Pants - LOL!
  16. I'm looking forward to this season. The 'Hawks have made a lot of major changes they've needed for a long time. So it will be interesting to see how this rebuilding year plays out. Besides, they'd be hard pressed to do worse than last year! ;D
  17. I was watching something before that on the same channel, and then the opening came on. I watched that first act, but didn't want to. As I told my wife, "It's like seeing a bad train wreck. You want to turn away, but can't!" But then after that, I couldn't change the channel fast enough! It was THAT bad!
