That makes sense. One last question: the StructureScan ducer replaces the ducer that comes with the unit, correct? I ask because I'm getting a front and back unit w/StructureScan, so I believe I can order one unit without the ducer.
Ok, so if I understand you correctly, I can use the ducer that comes with the Gen2 unit, and mount it on the trolling motor, correct? If so, is there a "transducer saver" that you recommend?
I'm curious about mounting an HDS Gen2 transducer on the trolling motor in addition to the thru-hull transducer mounted in the hull. Is there a specific transducer for this, or are you supposed to use the one that comes with the unit? I'm curious whether or not this even works, since it's not paired with the sidescan transducers, I presume it's just downscan imaging. Would it change as you change direction of the trolling motor?
Anyone have experience with this?
Welcome Home! There's a ton of folks here that know a lot about that model. I suggest asking questions in the boating forum. I think you'll get a lot of responses there.
It was a V6, not an AWD. The transmission was pretty worn out by time he sold it years later, but it wasn't dead. Again, it was a fiberglass boat, so you should be fine with an aluminum boat.
My buddy had a Ford Aerostar that towed an 18' Skeeter. It did alright, however the you could feel the boat pushing the van whenever we stopped. We got stuck on a boat ramp on 1 or 2 occasions (out of over 100 trips), but considering a fiberglass boat is heavier than the aluminum boats you mention, you should be fine. We even towed up an over mountain passes with it.
Excellent question! Let's get started here: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos
Watch those, then come back and I'll give you some more info. We have tons.

C'mon kids, this is fishing. No need to be calling each other names - or get your feelings all ruffled up. If you can't be civil, then it's time to just walk away from this thread.
Geez, I hate it when I have to talk to adults like that!
A bass fishing outing with Kevin VanDam is a rare prize, but it’s being offered in a sweepstakes happening now at Bassmaster.com.

I prefer you answer his question, rather than tell him to go someplace else.
ilbassman67 - you may have to lower them a bit to get them into the garage. But that's just a click away.
I honestly don't have much interest in this game. I don't follow either team. I literally forgot they even played against each other a few years ago in the SB. I have nothing against either team, but I, for one, will be watching the commercials more than the game this year.
