  1. Welcome home!
  2. I'm not defending anyone here, just offering up some insight. Producing and airing a fishing show costs money, and lots of it. The sponsors know that, and know people producing fishing shows are hurting for funding. So their sponsorship packages now come with a ton of strings. And it's more than just "mention our product name X times in each show." It's "Produce a direct and measurable increase in sales of our product by at least (insert a really high number here) percent, or we won't sponsor you." And all of them are doing that. It's the economic situation we're in now. But you can't blame the sponsors - they're struggling just to keep their heads above water, so they MUST make every dollar they spend count as much as possible. They can't afford to make mistakes. It's a viscous cycle.
  3. I think it's a volume thing. A car manufacturer sells tens of thousands of cars of a single model per year, whereas bass boat manufactures sell a few hundred of each model per year.
  4. Ok, guys, it's fishing, not stock advice. Check your emotions at the door if you're going to post on this thread. Final warning before we shut it down.
  5. We will be making an announcement very soon. Stay tuned...
  6. The biggest disappointment for Keri and I, is that we don't get a chance to fish with everyone. We don't remember all the fish we caught, but we certainly remember everyone we fished with! 'nuff said! 2013 - NO EXCUSES!

  13. Hey I used to jam all my rods and reels into my '74 Camaro and TOW a small boat behind it! No doubt I got a lot of strange looks as I rolled down the highway!
  14. Thanks Connie! Everyone received the frogs, and we we're even able to add a few to the raffle to help raise enough funds to put rods and reels into the hands of 60 children!

  18. Former NFL great Junior Seau reportedly died in a shooting after reports of a possible suicide at his home, according to NBC San Diego and the North County Times. Oceanside, Calif., mayor Jim Wood told the Times that he learned of the death from police chief Frank McCoy. Wood said he was told Seau, 43, died from a gunshot wound to the chest. A housekeeper found Seau, according to the Times. A 911 call reporting a possible suicide was made to police at 10 a.m., a dispatcher said. Seau retired from the NFL in 2009, and was named to the Pro Bowl 12 times and made the league's list of All-Pro starts for 10 years.

  21. We had planned on going, then realized the RoadTrip was the same weekend. DOH! Hope to make it next year. We really enjoy that tourny.
  22. The way a fish's blood coagulates is opposite that of humans. We humans need air for it to coagulate. Fish, on the other hand, need water.
  23. Ryan, You're perfectly entitled to voice your opinion - just do so in a respectful manner. Calling people names, or implying they're stupid has never been tolerated here. Ever. That's why I removed one of your posts. You know that. Why do I even need to remind you, of all people? In the famous words of Monday Night Football - C'mon Man!
  24. Awesome reports and pics! I'm looking forward to seeing more. Keri and I had a blast! A lot of work and planning goes into this by everyone involved, and everything went off without a hitch! The dinners and events were simply awesome. And we thoroughly enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones. I could easily write a book detailing this year's event, but I don't have that kind of time. So let me just add to the other reports a huge thanks to Mike (WMD in Kentucky) and Mike (Long Mike) for loaning us their boats; Ghoti, Alpster, and RoadWarrior for loaning us rods, reels, and tackle; Chris at Tech, Scorcher214, Long Mike, and Fishin Rhino for fishing with us and/or taking us fishing; RoadWarrior, Long Mike, and Alpster for fantastic grub; RoadTrip coordinators Long Mike, Alpster, and Zip Pow for all their hard work; Ghoti, Chris Lane, and Siebert Outdoors for donating rods for the raffle (Chris even autographed his!); Siebert Outdoors for donating a jig assortment for the raffle Don Barone for donating autographed raffle items from top pros including KVD Chris Lane for donating Tony Chachere's spices for the raffle Chris Lane for visiting us on Wednesday; and our sponsors RageTail, Water Gremlin, Snag Proof, and Bite It Baits for donating tons of products for us to sample and try out! I'm sure others will chime in with their experiences and stories, as there are many. But in case anyone was wondering..... It LIVES!!!! (click to view pic)
