  1. OUCH!! Man that's not good. Hope you heal fast.
  2. Hey this is really nice write up JT! I'm honored you chose to include us in your article, and said such great things. It's really humbling to see our name in print. One quick note - you can directly access your content by clicking your name on the menu bar in the upper right, near the search box. You'll get a dropdown menu from which you can select many items, one of which is the "My Content" link. It's one less click than mentioned in your article, but I admit it is a little more obscure to find. Thanks again for the kind words. I'm absolutely floored you wrote about us! Glenn

  4. Pretty much all of the above. - Stored my boat out in the front yard of my sister's house when I lived in a nearby apartment. Yes, I took all the electronics off and locked up everything. It helped that I put a serious makeshift tarp over the boat, using a complex system of bungie cords and ropes to secure it. Nobody messed with it, thankfully. And my sister was gracious enough to let me charge the batteries there too. - Stored the same boat in a storage facility after I moved. It was inside a secure storage unit, not stored outside. I attached a light bulb adapter that had a plug-in on it, so I could charge the batteries. I didn't hide it from the owner. I told them what I was doing, and they allowed it. Being nice helps. - Got a different boat and needed a larger storage unit at a different place. Got one with a plug-in located on the outside of the door, so I ran the extension cord under the door. The manager let me do it, but the fire marshal didn't like it. He just didn't want it plugged in all the time, because he thought I might be using grow lights or something, LOL! So I had to charge it overnight and unplug it in the morning. Minor inconvenience. - Now I have a garage. 'nuff said. Key thing with the storage units is to make friends with the manager, and to find a place that will let you access 24/7 (making friends goes a long way to turning a non-24/7 into a 24/7 access code, as well as getting permission to charge the batteries).
  5. That's awesome! Way to get her "hooked"!
  6. Oh man, that's a sweet looking handle!
  7. Pic 1 and 3 are definitely bass beds, but i'm not so sure about the middle picture. They look more like bluegill beds to me. Why? Largemouths typically don't like to build nests that close to each other, but bluegill do. And bluegill will often spawn at the same time largemouths do, so it's common to see both types at the same time. I once read that largemouths don't like to create beds in sight of another. I don't know if that's true, but it seems to support what I've observed over the decades.
  8. I'd be curious to see the header information from the email you received. I'd bet it's not from anywhere near the location they say they're from. If only there were a way to scam the scammer. Hmmmm..... A friend of mine did that once, to a scammer trying to sell Home Depot gift cards at below the retail value ($100 card for $75 bucks) on ebay. The scammer would sell the card in a parking lot somewhere, and then retrieve the funds before the buyer can get home or to Home Depot to use it. Here's how he scammed the scammer: His brother went to Homedepot.com and ordered some items online...got them in the cart, but didn't checkout. At the same time, he met the scammer to "buy" the gift card. The scammer told him to go ahead and call Home Depot to verify the card's value. Well he called.... his brother...with the account information on the card. His brother entered it and finished buying the items online. Once his brother told him it was finished, he told the scammer that, although the card checked out as legit, he wasn't interested anymore, and left.
  9. Let's refrain from the debate, and stick to the wishes of the OP. Thanks! Glenn

  14. Let me ask you this: What is today? ....and there's your answer!
  15. Yes, we heard about it yesterday, although I'm still waiting on verification. He was a long time contributor here, and even had his own section on the forums for awhile here. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-fizz-a-bass.html http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bass-fishing-hydrogen-peroxide.html
  16. Could be a squaw fish (northern pikeminnow). Did he hit really hard, fight for a few seconds, and then basically give up?
  17. I was using one of Sieberts jigs today and hooked a big 'un, then he wrapped me up in some bushes and came off....but I so much pressure on him the hook buried itself into a tree branch and....boy it sure fought good! LOL! The point is, I yarded on the thing with 50lb test, and when I finally got it out, the hook wasn't even bent or dull!! I was using Seaguar Kanzen and amazingly enough, it was in perfect shape. I was back to fishing without retying or adjusting anything. These are some sweet jigs!
  18. Fantastic! This is great news!
  19. Yup, you're right Mike, and it's my fault for starting that. My apologies.
  20. Oh man...you just revealed my secret! Only I use a dropshot weight.
  21. Ya, you need different brackets. Hate to tell you that, but that's what you need. I have the brackets that go between the jackplate and engine - not mounted on the side of the jackplate - and they work great. Here's a video of the installation on my boat: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/power-pole-installation.html I can post pictures if you want more details.
  22. Woo Hoo!! I'm getting REALLY pumped up for this event! Although I have to say I'm disappointed a few of you won't be able to make it. I always enjoy catching up with old friends and meeting new ones (Uncle Leo, we WILL meet someday!), so I'm disappointed I'll miss out on that opportunity with a few of you. Yes, I will humbly accept the proceeds for Tackle The Storm foundation. That's a very generous offer! And it's true, Keri and I will be boatless (as will ProCrafter). All three of us are very proficient smallmouth anglers, and we're more than happy to share our knowledge! And I speak from experience - ProCrafter is a smallie phenom! Dude can force smallies to bite his lures! So if anyone has an open back seat, game on! We're looking forward to meeting and fishing with everyone!
  23. Yes, I use the Roboworm 4" FX Sculpin, and it's a good dropshot bait. I've caught several fish on them. I like it in the Aaron's Magic color. There really is no "right" way to fish this right. For that matter, there's no "wrong" way either. Two of the most productive methods I've found is: 1. Nearly dead-sticking it, just wiggling the rod tip every now and then. Just let it sit and bake between shakes...as long as you can stand it. 2. Dragging it. I just put the trolling motor on low and let some slack out, then just drag it around weedlines, drop offs, etc. Enjoy!
