  1. @Randy Price I'm the same age as you, probably have birthdays very close together. As we get older, the more memories we have. It's natural to reflect back every so often. It hit me like a lead pipe a few years ago: life is about making memories. So as much as you like to reminisce, focus on making many new memories as much as possible with all your friends and family! Life is there for you. Just reach out and grab it!
  2. I've been using Gamakatsu EWG's since they were first introduced in 1992. I was very impressed with them then, and still am today. I've tried a few others in the past, but they weren't as effective as Gamakatsu.
  3. So...how many times has your division been in the SuperBowl in the past 20 years? *silence* Ok then.
  4. First watch this: Then watch this:
  5. All I have to say is the NFC West is yet again in the Superbowl. That makes 9 times in 18 years. All four teams have made it during that time. Toughest division in the league.
  6. It will get you there and back in style. https://bit.ly/3vYXeBK

  7. 13 Fishing was previously blocked due to deceitful marketing tactics (nearly all the positive comments and reviews posted here were fake or contrived). The marketing director responsible for orchestrating all of it no longer works there, so the ban was lifted. That said, we still get the occasional over-zealous pro-staffer gushing the wonders of 13 products, but to be fair, it happens with many brands that have "pro staff" these days.
  8. Then you need to watch this video!
  9. That's a good question. There really isn't any risk to your critical personal information, however some folks are very careful about everything they do online, and this provides them the option to add that extra security layer.
  10. ^^ ^^
  11. Yep, "Bait Monkey" started here at BassResource by Raul. Fact. BassResource is the oldest bass fishing site in existence. Established in 1996. Also fact.
  12. The Gamakatsu Tungsten Swing Head is exactly what you're looking for. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Tungsten_Hybrid_Swing_Head_4pk/descpage-GTWH.html?from=BASRES
  13. Yep, homeowners/renter's insurance will cover it. In some cases you'll need an endorsement. Sometimes it's the same with boater's insurance too - anything not attached to the boat isn't covered, but could be covered with homeowners/renter's insurance. Same thing with valuables in your car. Auto insurance won't cover them, but homeowners/renter's insurance will. Check with your carrier. YMMV
  14. So sorry for your loss.
  15. Just posted a new video with Jason Christie!
  16. Well....with a caveat. Google never indexes EVERY page of a website. In fact, there are tens of thousands of posts that Google hasn't indexed. That's a relative small amount of pages, but if one of them is the post you want, you won't find it via Google. The site search functions on this site index EVERY page and post. So that is the best way to find what you want.
  17. Quick update: we played "tourist" yesterday and visited a couple of temples and toured a bamboo forest, then went to dinner where you had to catch your fish (yes, with a fishing pole), and then they prepared it for you however you wanted. Kind of a unique experience. I embellished a bit on the tempura and sake. I'm too tired and worn out to resize and post pics right now, but I'll catch up once I get home. Today is a travel day, arriving tomorrow.
  18. New article! https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/buyers-guide-baitcasting-reels.html
  19. That boat is a SportsPal. It comes in several lengths and ranges from about $1,500 to $2,000 https://www.meyersboat.com/#/sportspal/models/X-13 I found several other boats that would be perfect for pond and budget-conscious anglers. I also wandered around the show and found a few more interesting things. The we went to another tackle store where I dropped about $250 on random stuff that's not available in the U.S. I don't have time to post about it now because we're about to head out for dinner and karaoke. But I fill y'all in later. Cheers!
  20. Well we hit the Tackle Show today, and boy howdy is it a big one! Lot's of things to see - tons of lures, brands, reels, rods, and more that we never see in the states. Here's a quick sample. BEWARE!! PIC HEAVY!! The Bait Monkey made me do it!!
  21. Just a quick update (it's a packed schedule every day, so I don't have time to post a lot). We visited the Gamakatsu headquarters yesterday for a behind-the-scenes look at the operation. We met with Mr. Fuji again, and this time I gave him a BassResesource hat. I learned that Gamakatsu has been a family-owned and run operation all this time. It is not a corporation (owned by Mr. Fuji's family). However, that will soon change as that is the old-school way of running Japanese businesses. Mr. Fuji outlined his vision of transforming Gamakatsu into a corporation - a move designed to ignite growth while removing the inherited restrictions and vulnerabilities that plague small businesses. After the visit, we headed to a tackle store to check out Japanese tackle and.... wow. This place was literally stacked to the ceiling with tackle! I spent an hour and a half there and it wasn't nearly long enough! It's the Bait Monkey's dream! I managed to walk away with only $50 worth of damage. However, we're visiting an even bigger store tomorrow. My wallet is going to take a big hit. Oy! But today, we're off to the giant tackle show to get a preview of all the newest tackle hitting the market in the next few months; then it's off to a fantastic restaurant known for incredible Kobe beef steak! I believe Mr. Fuji will be joining us too. More to come!
