  1. They want to build the best quality and charge whatever the price is that makes sense for said quality. I’m not surprised, considering these folks all come from Ranger. I’m sure the product will be top notch. still, part of me is saddened a little. I think the industry needs an independently owned, budget-friendly glass boat option. This interview makes me look even harder at Xpress and Crestliner.
  2. That’s all I want it to be.
  3. I went to Culinary School with the idea of being a Chef. I quickly realized that 60 hour work weeks leave zero days to fish. I graduated anyway (finish what you start), got a job as a manufacturer rep for a good company, and have plenty of time to fish on weekends/holidays. I’ve become proficient with the tools and programs that most companies use to track sales and profits. Now, with eight years of experience as a manufacturers rep, I hope to find a job as a rep for a tackle company. I don’t care much for food anymore, and haven’t in some time. I know I won’t fish MORE than I do now, but it’ll still give me time to fish, and talk fishing when I’m not on the water. In retrospect, I should have gone to school for business or marketing, but hey, lemonade out of lemons, you know?
  4. Just read on the Bass Blaster that tomorrow (Friday), there will be a new boat company making themselves known. Word is several former Ranger executives and Forest Wood’s grandson are heading it up. With JM buying up almost all the big brands, the bass boat industry needs some new blood in the form of brands. Look at what Phoenix has done, Falcon is on the rise, and I heard Cobra is trying to make a comeback with the old Champion 210 Hull. Let us pray that they offer at least one value-minded option. The price of boats is absolutely ridiculous.
  5. Released in 2006, discontinued 2010ish. They are big Baits, but bulldozers coming through cover. If anyone has any for sale, let me know!
  6. I think you’re actually approaching your problem from the wrong angle. You THINK you have to go small/finesse to get bit in a highly pressured lake. You dont. If grass is the main cover, you just have to go in after them. id take the opposite approach and learn to PUNCH. Find the thickest, nastiest mats you can find, the kind of stuff other anglers are throwing to the edge of or frogging, and send a bunker-buster sized tungsten weight through it. I like a 1.5-2oz Strike King weight, 4/0 Hack Attack flipping hook, and a Rage Menace. 50-65lb braid, 7.5’ XH rod minimum. if you want to stay with a jig, the Hack Attack Heavy cover jig comes in a 1.5oz. D&L makes a 1.5oz jig too that’s pretty good.
  7. I live near you and know EXACTLY what lake you’re talking about. There were two tournaments there in the last two weeks where lunker was 7.26lbs and 7.4lbs, respectively. don’t listen to the haters, you’re spot on. PM incoming. Also, for all you non-believers.... Marsh Creek produced an 8.5lb lunker this summer in a night tournament. It’s on video. They’re rare, but they’re here.
  8. I have a few old Bomber Balsa B’s that I want to have custom painted. I want a few painted in a natural bluegill pattern, and a few in a foil bluegill pattern. Im looking for recommendations on who to hire for this task. I’m looking for names, but If you think you yourself can do it, I’d like to see some baits you’ve done before. They don’t make these baits anymore and they’re very hard to come by. Thanks!
  9. I just had this issue with my Echomap 73SV and my Minn Kota Maxxum 70lb. My boat desler had to make a custom mount that rides on the SIDE of the TM. It’s an offset mount. I’ll take a photo this weekend and send it.
  10. It works better for thicker diameter vegetation, link pads and cattails. I still get milfoil wrapped around my TM, and I even have a Wedless Wedge II.
  11. In my opinion, Hawghunter if Allentown and Brandywine Bassmasters are the two best organized/funded clubs with the best talent pool (if you want to get better). Chester is good too. I used to belong to Buxmont, which is a better club if you want to make friends and don’t take tournaments too seriously.
  12. Thanks for the advice. Ducketts are all I use. Great rods!
  13. I’m thinking about picking one up, but I’m not sure if it’ll be too stiff for what I want. I’m looking for an offshore football jig/c-rig. But I want this rod to double for swim jigs and maybe frogs shallow (I know it’s a frog rod). I’m torn between this rod and a 7’3” MH Triad or Terex. If anyone has any feedback on the 7’2” H Terex and where it excels, I’d love to hear it. Thanks!
  14. I like to put a little fade-out at the end of the video with my gear used because some people are curious. I think we’ve all been inspired to buy gear based off of someone else’s success at some point. I also add my social media stuff afterwards. A total of about ten seconds for both slides.
  15. W2S, if I can not justify purchasing Lithium Batteries right now, but still want to shed pounds, are there other more affordable, lightweight battery options out there? im just looking for two 12v’s to run my trolling motor. Thanks!
  16. I have a 16’ Crestliner that’s I’m trying to save weight on. I found a few solar batteries that are 25lbs ish, but I’m not sure they’ll last against my 24v Maxxum. i can’t spend $1,600 on batteries.
  17. I’m looking to upgrade my two 27g batteries to Lithium batteries for my trolling motor. I’m looking for a tried and true brand. Who has the best value?
  18. I use KVD #2 hooks. I actually caught two bass on that bait on one cast.
  19. Cabelas bargain cave (in store). I just got a Garmin 73SV chirp for $350
  20. Do you have any crawfish images?
  21. I already have some from my Echomap. However, I can't post them here for some reason (only letting me upload .73mb and I have zero attachment.) if you have an email or cell number, I'll send some to you.
  22. Thanks guys. Topic=answered.
  23. Follow up question: what about the CHIRP transducer? Should that one be the one I idle and scan with (for detail)?
  24. I'm rigging a new Crestliner Storm 1600 and I'm having a dilemma: I have two Garmin Echomap 73SV units, one is CHIRP and one isn't. I've had the non-chirp unit for two years and it's loaded with waypoint. The CHIRP unit is brand new. heres my question: which unit should I put at the console, and which at the bow? Which transducer should be at the transom, and which on the TM? im thinking CHIRP at console and it's transducer at transom, and put the non-chirp at the bow and use its transducer on the TM for Maps/sonar. Any thoughts? Thanks!
