  1. Hi gary! I've fished lake eufaula several times. You should be warned that this lake its fair share of rec boaters (drunks)....perhaps more that other lakes. Eufaula is a hard lake to fish (I'd much prefer Seminole). If you've never fished Eufaula, you might consider hiring a local guide for your 1st time. They would be glad to give you some good tips for the lake and not to mention put you on some very good fish. But if you don't like that idea and still plan on fishing Eufaula, my advise would be to stick to the river and creek channels in the main lake during the heat of the day. Early morning and late evening you'd probably find some good fish in the shallows in some thick vegation and at the mouths of creeks. With all that said, I'll say that Eufaula is one of the only lakes that I go to KNOWING that I may not catch or even get a bite from a dang thing. So take my advise for what its worth! I hope this helps and good luck fishin!
  2. A big thanks to the rest of you guys for the warm welcomes! I really appreciate it!!
  3. Sam, I was born in Alabama and I was born with Crimson bood in my viens! ROLL TIDE ROLL BTW...I love crawfish too! And yes....I even suck the heads! Throw in a cold one to wash it down with and Man, it don't get much better than that!
  4. SnowBass, let me first say Thank You for what you do for our country! You guys are the real heros!! I was a CIV contractor on Mother Rucker for 5 years. I live roughly 11mins 45sec from the D-ville gate...giv or take depending on whos driving. In fact, one of your guys just bought a new home from me I built in D-ville. The only reason I mention that is because he was just transfered in from Ft. Polk, LA. and he has a real nice bass boat. Great guy! Ive been waiting on his invitation to show him around Eufaula or even Lake Thalokcoaa (I butchered that spelling but I know how to say it right ;D) but I haven't got one yet. I know what you mean about those saltwater guys.....I use to be one!
  5. SE corner...Dale Cnty. Just north of Houston County!
  6. .....which is short for lower alabama round here! I'd like to say I appreciate y'all having me here! I've been lurking for a few days reading post and what not, so I though I'd join in. I probably won't have much to add to discussions because I'm a tad bit green when it comes to fresh water. I've spent most of my years on the "big pond", or most of you guys know better as the Gulf of Mexico. I moved back to bama several years ago (c'aint choose your family) and let me tell ya, going from 1st mate on a 48' sportfisherman, fishing the big pond every day to....well, alabama, was a shock to my fishing soul to say the least. I refused to wet any line unless it was saltwater. I just couldn't get excited about catching....bait! Well, roughly a year ago, thanks to some peer pressure from a buddy, the fresh water bug, or better yet, the bass bug bit me.... I mean took a good bite too (and that green frog on the end of my line sittin on top of some lilly pads)! In an instant that 3lb fish changed me. He gave me back that belly tingle I use to feel while my hook was soaking. He gave me the "bait monkey and made me poorer. He gave me back my Fishin! So here I am, eager to learn, willing to share, and looking forward to many more discussions in the future! So good fishin to all y'all and remember....there's alway's room in the boat or in the box for Uno Mas!! 8-)
