  1. I know a lot of you guys frown upon live bait, and I had as well up until the last two months. The last two months I've caught some of the biggest bass I've caught in my life on live bluegill on bobbers. I live in Florida so it's legal, so look into your state laws to see if it's ok, but bluegill have been the best bait I've ever used.
  2. My uncle has shown me something interesting lately regarding shore fishing. He takes a 7.5'' Culprit or similar worm - usually in junebug - and just swim it so its maybe an inch from the surface. Occasionally let it just drop. I've caught a few bass doing that, and it's pretty fun because you can see the wake they make as they chase it. I've always been so used to using Culprits for Texas rigging and bouncing off the bottom, I've never thought to swim them.
  3. Fishing in a swimming pool.
  4. Have you tried fishing different bodies of water? I ask that question because I know of central Florida lakes that aren't participating right now, while other lakes are. Roger I have three lakes that I've caught tons of fish in over the years, and none are producing at all. I don't really have much else to fish though.
  5. I live in Orlando and I haven't caught crap in the last two weeks. The fishing seems to have gotten worse. I've tried everything.
  6. aNear Goldenrod and University. On Hall road. yup.... im right near there as well, right by full sail.... maybe a fishing trip is in order if your down... Definitely. I've got an OK pond to fish on shore that is near me, and an amazing lake to fish in canoe that is on merritt island. You got anything good nearby? I have a canoe, but it's huge and I can only haul it if my dad lets me use his truck.

  8. See, I don't understand that. The sexy swimmer looks like total crap. The Spro looks like a baitfish ready to be eaten. I've casted it right next to bass that were feeding, and nothing. I'm starting to think I'd rather eat it than a bass.
  9. Two days ago I was fishing a big line of cattails, and there were multiple times where I could see the cattails move because of a fish. I laid the Shad perfectly in front of it several times with no hits. I then switched to the Rage Anaconda, did the same thing, and had two bass in a row. It's not a case of no confidence or lack or trying, that's for sure.
  10. I bought this thang off of *** three months ago. I've used it in a lake that I had recently caught seven 4lbers in one night. Not even a hit. I love the bait and think everything about it is amazing. I'll watch it and just go crazy wondering how I'm not killing the bass with it. I took it to a big lake recently where I've caught three or four 8lb and over bass before, and I had one bass hit it but he didn't get hooked. On the same lake, my uncle caught 4 bass on plastic worms and 2 bass on rattle traps on the same places I was fishing the BBZ-1. I want this bait to work so bad because it seems like the perfect artificial bait but what is wrong? I worked it in several different ways. I flipped it into tight spaces so it wouldn't make a sound. I burned it, I threw it near cattails that had recently been moved by a bass' tail. I jerked it randomly over water that had bass hitting on top. I swam it slowly around everywhere. I've used it for 40 min in one spot in different ways, then threw a rage tail anaconda and caught two straight bass that were over 3lbs.
  11. What about us shallow lake Floridians.
  12. I can usually catch and a weigh a bass in less than 30 seconds, but I've held bass for several minutes with no ill effects and the article above seems to say the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it.
  13. I once saw a guy put a 1 inch chunk of a plastic worm on a hook with a bobber and just let it sit.
  14. Are you gonna make some good saltwater swimbaits soon?
  15. I probably have around 15lbs of soft plastics. Had a lot more but I've used a ton of my soft plastics lately.
  16. Never kept a bass for myself, but have kept several for my gf's parents. I have kept plenty of crappie, catfish and bluegill.
  17. I challenge you to find anything on earth that doesn't taste better breaded and deep fried.
  18. Late February on some public lakes on Merritt Island with some good bedding baits. I've just started seriously bass fishing in the last two years and I've already caught a couple of bedding bass over 8 lbs and more than I can count over 6. There have been a couple of times I've seen bass that were over 12lbs but I wasn't good enough at flipping to get to them correctly.
  19. I've actually never used a carolina rig. I've learned most of my bass fishing from my uncle and father who've been fishing in Central Florida their whole lives. I pretty much learned everything that worked for them and whatever I could find out online recently.
  20. I once threw a weightless senko onto a pad of weeds matted on the water and it made a loud SMACK sound. I twitched it on top a few seconds later, and then BAM, a huge bass slammed the spot where the worm originally smacked. So I tossed it back to the same spot with the same smacking sound and didn't move it. Same bass hit it again and got hooked. So fun.
  21. I looove a good spinnerbait strike.
  22. I bought one about two years ago and I've caught 100's of fish on it and it's still going strong. I love it.
  23. Living in Florida, I pretty much catch all my fish at all times of the year in shallow water because that's pretty much all I fish. It's more a question of if they're hitting worms, spinnerbaits, jigs, or topwater.
  24. At least 2 Mattlures hard bluegills. Spro BBZ-1 A couple of Huddleston swimbaits 12in Curly Tail Worms and LOTS of Jigs with paca craw trailers.
  25. It's the first swimbait I've ever owned. I went out back and threw it in the pool and it still amazes me how great it looks.
