  1. Its actually coming down now. Lots going on, heat, water levels. But someone always catches a big sack. I'm hitting it hard starting the end of September.
  2. I haven't been fishing, in the middle of moving. I heard the north end is muddied up and that its been real tough. High water= No Good Another indicator would be all the weights, not just the winning sack someone will always catch a big sack, when you start seeing a lot of low weights you know its tough. Fred you fishing the extream 1 man? Im not too much to do, 2 guys at the house for it. I may get out Saturday for a couple of hours.
  3. Im heading up in mid September to Plantation on Crystal River, I was wondering if I should drag my boat up there, is that fresh water well inland? Anyone with any information?
  4. I do it for Specs (Crappie), but as far as Bass fishing goes I find rather move with artificials.
  5. Yes high water dislodges a bunch of stuff that was wedged in 2 months ago. Probably did hit a log, whole dynamics of the lake changes what was a shallow bank up tight my be just under water, but that doesn't sound right for where you were, maybe coming through a cut like 92 or 100.
  6. Their more afraid of you then you of them.
  7. There used to be an old boat hull over there but thats got to be mush by now.
  8. Man I dont know what you hit Fred but it wasn't the bottom. Could have been a big gator.
  9. I am. At almost 16 feet a tropical wave or god forbid worse would turn it into a mudpit right now. And recovery isnt as quick as you think. We would loose all our vegetation from being stirred up to a point where sunlight couldn't penetrate the water. It tears down the hardline exposing the back to the current, not pretty. Everyone belly aches about low water, I hope you dont get to see the effects of the opposite. I have and it sucks. The shoot between Kings Bar and the flats looked like coffee for years with no pads or hydrilla. Rant over.
  10. Never mind that, just keep your eyes on the road, Im just a taxpayer now I want my moneys worth.
  11. Its possible but it may be a stretch Snoonalot, those pits are deep, she might have escaped the cold weather. How long it takes them to grow that big. Nice Fish Lou
  12. What about Newnans and Orange or north to the Santi Fe River out of High Springs. I used to fish the stumps at Rodman out of Interlochen there was a public ramp there at the time. Those stumps are still down there. Id look for deep water hydrilla this time of year.
  13. My garage and work shop are done at the house, I'm right around the corner from Scott Driver . I have air compressors, patch kits, tools, if you ever get in a jam dont hesitate on giving me a call.
  14. Good Job, we left when that storm rolled in about 1230 I threw back my 15 lbs when I saw Bucky tossing a limit of 6lbers on the scale. Thats the first one of those i fished, well run tournament, the north end need a good trail. It ends right when the Christian Trail begins and visa versa. At first they were brining the fish to the tackle shop I didn't like that and knew it wouldn't last. Were you standing next to me again
  15. 14.82 and rising, I'm in Broward and we're getting pounded, I'm heading up Tuesday my bet it will be over 15 by then.
  16. At the beginning of that one video I thought i was going to witness a murder.
  17. It depends on the color of the water. Clear water I like pumpkins and watermelons, slightly stained Black and Blue.
  18. Johnny, the plane crashed out in the flats, the whole area in general as several good canals that run for miles. I dont think the crash site was in any specific canal. 3 pines at Holiday Park off L 67is one of the deepest canals in the whole system. Its consistently produced big fish for decades. The crash was witnessed from there, that may be causing a little confusing. The Magic Canal L-67 C runs adjacent to L-67, great big fish canal. Im showing my age with all the old names for these places.
  19. Not too mention we have a wave coming in this weekend thats going to dump rain like crazy all over the state. They dont stop eating late you just have to hunt them down, in fact the big fish eat in the middle of the day, yes even in the summer.
  20. I used to do it when I fished salt water a lot, for bait fish in the intercoastl, and Iv seen shiner fisherman do it in the lake. Personally I dont use live bait for bass fishing. Just bait several areas with feed make a circle and go back and they'll be shiners there.
  21. 14.75 Its getting way too high, fish are scattered like crazy, in out, sideways. if you dont have those morning schoolers good luck after 900am.
  22. Keep driving north another 45 minutes to the Lake
  23. We came in 5th and had big fish with a 8 3/4.
  24. It was great seeing Fishin Cowgirl and her husband again, great people with a cool new boat. Topwater I would have liked to meet you but didn't know who to look for. IMO very well run tourney.
  25. Very sorry chobee. I hope you and his family's dealing with this as best as they can. Sometimes we are at the mercy of that lake, sunkboat-on-big O suffered a near disaster as have I on that lake many times. Iv sunk a boat, Iv been stranded, Iv chopped off lower units and had collisions, all had some sort of human error involved, this however has to be one of the most puzzling crisis one has to deal with. Good luck.
