  1. They say to leave it in if its way down there, that it will rust out, but i was always skeptical about that. I know in saltwater you leave them in but thats a little higher of a rust time with the salt and everything.
  2. I would guess your speaking of the Pythons in the Everglades, no i haven t seen any but i fish further up north more these days, Florida's getting overrun with exotics of all sorts, I have these Brazilian Ring Tail lizards running all around my home, my dog has a pretty high kill rate on them. I would think the the snakes stay mostley out on the Flats of the Glades way down south. Air boaters would see them more the fisherman.
  3. Yes I'm lucky, although Okeechobee has been at record lows the fishing is still unreal, it just fish's small when low, believe it or not, you would never think you would use the term fish's small when speaking of the 2nd biggest land locked lake in America, but when the water resides out of the vast 100s of miles of swamps and grass flats, theres only several areas that hold fish. Its slowly coming up though and when it does come up it will be hotter then ever, all the grass has rejuvenated from the low water, and the state has scraped thousands of tons of muck out of the shallows. Its realty going to be back to a top notch fishery.
  4. In tournaments I always say come on I just want to borrow you, ill let you go.
  5. If you go onto Alligator Alley and travel east towards the first ramp those canals are loaded with bass, just cast towards the bank as you ease down the middle. Worms topwater etc..
  6. Time doesn't matter, right before these storms move in is a good time, they act like mini fronts, and the storm can turn on the bite.
  7. buckifan for a minute I thought that was some kind of freak bass you were holding.
  8. Thank you sir.
  9. +1 on earthworms advice, I too have fished south Florida canals for years and the canals located up around Plantation, Margate, and throughout western Broward, they are loaded with Largemouth. Anywhere you have access will produce. I was fortunate enough to fish that area before it was developed, it was like a private heaven of bass fishing. If you have a boat there used to be a ramp my Margate city hall, that leads to all the local canals. if not its harder and harder to find bank fishing. One area is the canal between Griffin and Orange, Iv caught many of bass their from 441 west to the end. it offers plenty of bank access. Top water, Flukes the usual suspects.
  10. Hi, I just found this forum and figured I would jump in, Iv been bass fishing for many years and hope to contribute as well as learn. I tournament fish on a local level, my home Lake is Lake Okeechobee, however I fish throughout the state of Florida. I fish about 2 to 3 times a week. What attracted me to the forum is the Southeast section.
