  1. Yes, they say the domestic don't run, they don't trigger the strike like wild. I find that hard to believe buut everything I have heard is that wild are much better.
  2. Small gold hair hooks, bait them up with bread, a tiny piece of bread, these hooks are small.
  3. I never had one in my boat. but what bassnblvd explains is how i see them do it. And of course wild rather then domestic.
  4. He had a kid with a girl from there and its too expensive down here for a young guy, Ill tell you what he can detail a boat or car like no ones business. Ill let him know, thanks.
  5. My son moved there and was looking for some bass fishing in the area.
  6. I would be filleting those baby's.
  7. I used to fish for the Red eyes in the Suwanee out of Branford Fl, I used to do good on those little countdown rapalas, they'll eat pretty much any downsized largemouth lure. however I never did well on worms with them. try a small jig&pig.
  8. Don't worry billbo I thanked him extra that day and everyday.
  9. I got up to find the tire on my boat trailer flat this morning, so instead of taking off for the ramp I had to drag out my hydraulic jack, jack up the rear of the trailer, pull the tire, I go to remove the spare that's kept under the front of the trailer, its held in the bracket with a bolt that hasn't been removed in about 120 years, so Im under there hitting the bolt with a hammer, I cant get the d**n thing out so I crawl out to get some WD-40, the minute I get out from under there the front tongue jack breaks and the trailer crashes down, the bracket that I was lying under was embedded about 2 inch's into the dirt. Bottom line I would have been crushed, no one was around to have seen me under there, even if I got out a single yell which I doubt, no one would have heard it. I figure they would have found me around Wednesday. If you look at the boat in the my ride thread (page 8) you can see how the bracket hangs down. I had the rear good and braced I never thought of that front jack breaking, but their just for lifting the front off the hitch, I had all the weight leaning on it from the back being up. Maybe this will keep someone else from making the same mistake. When I finally got out there it really didn't matter I wasn't catching many fish, the lake looked a little extra beautiful as well.
  10. "Why would one buy two licenses to fish Seminole?" Subsection 2 does not cover the entire lake, so like I said if one wants to fish both sides properly and legally they should obtain a 3 day Georgia license for what used to cost 7 dollars, or 2 licenses one from each state.
  11. My brother lived down the grade road from SF back in the 70s, its always been a good lake, i think theres little SF and Big SF, I used to fish it with those pre rigged Lake Jackson worms with the hooks already in the worm.
  12. Those are Rock Pit bass( phosphate, like warmer mentioned) i know were you are im telling everyone
  13. Your right by Lake Istapoka off 27, great Lake, and a little further is Walk On Water a small lake full of Hawgs.
  14. Talquin is an great lake with all kinds of structure, Cyprus trees and I believe they have Hybrid Stripers in there. I rented a boat there years back, pulled up by some Cyprus trees and wore out the bass on a Dalton Special. Jackson gets low and unfishable at times. Seminole is an all time great that enters into Georgia, don't forget to get two licenses.
  15. Yeah the clubs take up a lot of time, meetings, events, etc.. I never stayed in them long. Have you been to Toho lately? I haven't been there in awhile like I said I got a 2 day in August.
  16. Thanks Fishin daddy I had a few of them but not all together like that, are you in that club? Were they that big club out of Lakeland that meets in an auditorium? I remember there was a club out of Lakeland that was fishing Okeechobee years ago they had like 60 boats and the one guy told me it was a club, unbelievable.
  17. 93 Storm, I loved it from day one.
  18. Ditto on the frog brother that looks killer, i love anything with those little paddle legs like on that, they make more noise the any of the other paddles, curly etc.. I use the Manns little grub tails for spoon tailors that have legs like that. I cant wait till the grass in Okeechobee gets some water iv been watching it grow for 3 years now, only not to be able to reach it. if it gets to 13 by late winter you better pour a 1000 of those things.
  19. Has anyone fished Toho lately, hows the water low, high? I have a two day there in August.
  20. Iv fished Trafford a thousand times, I haven't been there in years but i can tell you every time you go it looks different, depends on water levels and weeds, Iv been there when its full of hydrilla pads and grass to the point were you can hardly get around. its a shallow lake. I would check on the level if you can, iv caught some nice fish out of there, we used to camp by the ramp, but I'm talking 15 years ago maybe more. Bring heavy line and toads and scum frogs.
  21. Holiday Park and saw grass are awful far when you have the Loxahatchee canals right next to you. My buddy fished IDA yesterday he said it sucked, real dirty because of the recent spraying, Those private community lakes are all basically old rock pits that are very deep. I agree with scaling down, the storms are just something we have to deal with down here, iv had some great fishing as they move in, tends to turn the on at times.
  22. Make sure you kill them d**n things.
  23. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, let that rain come and fill the Big O.
  24. You have to change locations within the lake, were are you fishing IDA? Osborn? The summer is my favorite time to fish in Florida, Move to deeper water, Carolina rigs in the canals or drop offs, they move deep. After the morning shad frenzy ( if you find it ), move to the closest deep water. And fish slower.
  25. Broward County transplanted to Okeechobee, Iv fished from the southern everglades to Lake Talquin on the panhandle, and everything in between. Okeechobee's my home lake.
