  1. Im trying to get the dates on this trail, its a pretty good trail and they have a Saturday tourny that works for me. Ref BFL: I think I may fish it, I got a co angler who wants to, it depends on the dates for the BB trail. Did you find a co angler?
  2. Does anyone have the 2009 Silver division schedule ? They were supposed to E Mail it to me but didn't.
  3. I actually liked the Suzuki, my friend still has an old 150 that will not die, however the servicing was an issue. Were I'm going to be living has no dealership. And I always thought they were heavier. as far as cheaper theres no way i could have got one cheaper then what i paid.
  4. Yeah I'm kind of excited, they make a good product, you here some horror story's no matter what the engine, but out of the big 3 their all pretty much the same each having some different small advantage over the other. I heard the Optis are better on gas, but I heard th Etechs are unbelievable on oil consumption. Yammys are faster, there all good engines lemons come in all brands.
  5. I pulled the trigger on a new left over 2007 Etech today, the dealer gave me an offer I couldnt refuse. My boats getting some deck work and new carpet, I cant wait.
  6. After a front or when cold weather hits get the flipping stick out and find mats. Big hawgs group up under the mats of vegetation that have floated into cat tails and other grass and when you hit them on the nose they bite. You can get some big sacks in this weather. look for mats that have brown or dying hyacinths, dying vegetation gives off heat.
  7. Check out Larry Larsen's books, a little dated but not bad for some decent information. http://www.larsenoutdoors.com/html/florida_fishing_books.html
  8. Blue Gills usually spawn in the summer, and yes the bass start feeding in the fall, unless its a south Florida targeted article I throw out most of the literature on bass behavior when it comes to down here, most of its written based on the rest of the country. And by South Florida I consider from Kissimmee south.
  9. Triple Tails are biting like mad.
  10. Last year the biggest spawn of the year on Okeechobee was in late May, there could be fish on beds at any given time, not all of the fish spawn at the same time. Further south in the Everglades February has traditionaly been the best month. You should look for beds from Nov to May, look hard from Dec to April, this year we had an October spawn at the the Big O, but I think that was because of the abundance of bait and high water. Bass dont read all of the books we do.
  11. I fished Saturday and was about a 1/2 mile in towards the rim canal from were you came to the lake on that trail, I won our tourney with 17lbs, but that was Saturday warm pre front conditions, they were biting like mad, I said tomorrow ( Sunday ) was going to be ruff, I guess i was right. Its nice getting on the good side of the front now and then, believe me Iv been on the bad side plenty. I saw the biggest water moccasin i have ever seen in my life, it was about 6 feet long and was about as thick as my arm.
  12. Tenoroc is a good place to start but they are no where near hwy 60. I-4 East to exit 38. South 1 mile to Combee Rd. Left on Combee 2 miles to Tenoroc Mine Rd. (just past the citgo station. Left on TM rd to the ranger station. Only open Thur thru Monday. PS the citgo station has a great sub shop inside. http://www.floridaconservation.org/fishing/offices/tenoroc.html A pretty decent fishing report for Polk Co. http://www.theledger.com/section/sports09 I used to go from Brandon east on 60 to 17. However you get there its fun fishing.
  13. I would have never noticed the prior owner was a Marine : Perfect boat to bring out today.
  14. Check into the Tenoroc phosphate pits out HWY 60 towards Lakeland
  15. Touch base with me when we get a little closer I may be able to bring you out on Okeechobee, I dont know for shure, as we gert closer I can help you out one way or another. Naples has a lake near by in Imokolee, Lake Trafford, depending on water levels it can offer some goog fishing. http://www.laketrafford.com/
  16. If you haven't been there since the water had come up you are in for a big surprise. Find some clean water in the grass and start chucking that frog. Theres miles of nice water right outside Boy Scout Cut. Thats just on your right when exiting Slims. Good Luck
  17. do you know were the Airport Lakes are? by the Miami airport, their loaded with peacocks and largemouth. theres a ramp behind the mall down there, not the most scenic fishing but lots of big fish.
  18. So he canceled with you and fished it with somebody else?
  19. I had the same deal Sat the 24, then Sunday was a whole different story. Vince those fish moved around to the other side of Ritta, Thursday I had 3 fish that weighed 15 pounds, I went back in to check them Saturday had two giant wakes and left, the front rolled through and done, we had a 10lbs with 3 fish, 21 pounds won the 60 boat field. With a 9 for big fish.
  20. Interesting that changed, a few years back they recommended no consumption of freshwater fish anywhere in Broward. I stopped eating fish from those canals years ago.
  21. If so your probably pre fishing.
  22. South Broward
  23. Also available is The Loan Cabbage Fish Camp off the St Johns in the Coco area, the st johns river is real marshy in that area and gets narrow. When the waters low theres some great fishing. I think you can rent a boat at LCFC. Drag a black worm off the marsh into the canal, I used to love fishing there. Im to far south. http://www.twisterairboatrides.com/cabbage.htm
