  1. I had a 14 foot aluminum V Hull Starcraft with a 25 Johnson. I rigged a car bright light switch that went on the deck, the ones from the cars floor back in the day, only Geezers will know what I mean, I used it as a foot control on/off. My seat was a cooler, live well was a stringer. Man if you only knew how many fish that were in that boat. I remember buying it new for 2000.00, my loan payment was 60 dollars a month and I was shaking when I signed the papers.
  2. Also bagged ice can have trace amounts of chlorine. I freeze 2 gallon milk jugs filled with water solid, one for each well. I have pretty good luck in the Florida heat during the summer this way.
  3. What a HOG, I love fishing for BG on a light Fly Rod.
  4. SkeetyCCTX, you can shut them all up by bringing in big sacks of fish, don't let them get in your head. Use that to work harder, get better, and win.
  5. My girlfriends mom lives off Becker road and the Turnpike, there's all kinds of nice looking canals by the Publix, I like that little bowl lake as your coming off the exit ramp, by the fire station. I never do any shore lake fishing anymore, back when i was a kid I used to walk for miles casting the banks.
  6. Guys like that are just proving they cant find fish on their own. I knew a guy that went up the day before and rode around with a guide, I think its not illegal but it shows what your made of.
  7. Reference the Diving Frog I'm concerned about the weedless factor, that demonstration doesn't depict what we fish in down here, but man does it look natural.
  8. You probably picked the single worst area of Florida for bass fishing, Lake Tarpon is probably the closest, and thats not much of a lake I always hated it. maybe go east to the Peace River. Your better off bringing some light saltwater gear and go after some snook.
  9. I don't really think that makes a difference, how long do you think they would have made it with those weights pulling down.
  10. I have the same job FC, Hang in there it pays off at the end. In another year Ill be fishing and getting paid.
  11. Thanks a lot, I used to have a similar web site and lost it.
  12. You can toss out the well respected part, and as far as I'm concerned his wins mean nothing. As far as his partners do you think that could be pulled off without the boat occupant knowing? Maybe, he could have told the guy to take the front while he checked his fish, any tournament angler will be fishing not paying attention.
  13. My 2 cents I own a custom made boat made for rough water, Iv had since I had it built in 1992, its a STORM. Iv been in and fished out of every brand of boat made,I have yet to find anything that comes close to mine as far as handling rough water until I drove a Basscat. They are an excellent boat and if I ever buy another boat it will be a Basscat, a close second was a Champion.
  14. I cant imagine not living were my boat is, there's too much stuff to get ready. Pines provides a lot that the city maintains. I live east of you in Hollywood were they allow the boats to be, the eastern city's are a little more boat friendly. I always wondered about public storage.
  15. Years back late 80s we had a guy that started winning all the tournaments on Lake Okeechobee, people got suspicious and they sent a boat to follow him, he noticed they were following him and came in with no fish that tournament. He claimed he didn't want to give away his hole. Keep in mind the local tournaments at the time fished about a 100 boats, this dude winds up getting a divorce after messing around on his old lady. This guy lived right on the rim canal of the lake. The soon to be ex wife went to the director of the tournament trail and had all the tackle shop owners meet her there. She told them that he would shiner fish all week and he had an old freezer that he made onto a live well. He would pull into his boathouse and go inside and watch TV all day, about 1/2 hour from weigh in he would load the fish up and go weigh in 25-35 lbs of fish. They never charged him. Statute of limitations and lack of evidence, other then her testimony which isn't always enough in a criminal case. The guy took off, he never fished tournaments again.
  16. I hope they press charges to the fullest extent. This really aggravates me, all the time and money we put in pre fishing and preparing for tournaments. I always get mad when I think of all the tournaments that probably were won by these jerks.
  17. Dude
  18. I meant the outcome of the case. Thanks for bringing that to my attention I fixed the heading.
  19. Sorry but this gets me riled. http://www.examiner.com/x-40140-Atlanta-Fishing-Examiner~y2010m4d17-Robby-Rose-cheating-tournament-fishing
  20. Cant make it, my boats in Okeechobee I cant go up till tomorrow, I would have to leave at 200am to get up there load the boat and head to Clewistone. Ill be up there Sun,Mon,Tue. fishing. Let me know how it went. Bottom Line Mike runs a greats tournament. No not those guys, Danny & Dave, maybe they were fishing a different tourney, but Danny told me they had 18lbs and came in 2nd.
  21. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago, so far so good.Seems accurate. But most of all its very user friendly, for us older fellows that are.....how do you say......computer stupid. http://store.rogerssportinggoods.com/servlet/-strse-1027/fish-scale-bill-dance/Detail
  22. I get a kick out of comments on baits, colors, rods reels etc.. That subject depends on so many variables. How a guy in Florida can bash a guy in Minnesota for using a specific color, or rod and reel, is beyond me. On line fisherman, go figure.
  23. Kenny my buddy came in 2nd at that Renagade. Were are you meeting Sunday and whats the fee, Bassbusters is going on its going to be crazy over there.
  24. I like a splitshot on the line with a bobber stopper in front of it. But they look interesting and I can think of a few other uses I would like to utilize them with.
  25. Probably not if you stuck it, they usually take off. Not saying its impossible, just going by my 40 years of experience. Now Iv heard bass up north will come back, several Pros have told me that you can catch the same fish of a bed 5 times up north, thats not happening in Florida.
