  1. I swear the Flappin Shads are made of softer plastic. I can never get then to work like I used to.
  2. Remember I was the guest not the Captain. :-X
  3. North was clear, south was a little muddied up, water was cool to the touch, the guy I fished with lives up there but his fish dried up, I talked him into going shallower and we frogged up our fish. I figured the water was a bit warmer and it might have brought them in, I think if we did that from the beginning we would have had a nice limit. We had 3 decent fish. The fish that the winner weighed in were all cookie cutters 3 and change, and white bellied, they looked like open water grass fish.
  4. Well you cant compete without pre fishing. 3 fish for 9lbs couldn't get a limit. 16 lbs won it. To give you an idea how tough it is up there the big fish was 4lb, that's rare at TOHO.
  5. Last years winter knocked them back south of the Broward line.
  6. Just a little thought from the other side, Hydrilla can also completely take over a lake and make it inaccessible. While I love it for its fish holding capacity its still an exotic and can choke a lake out if left unchecked. There never going to kill it off so I personally don't mind a little control. *Runs out of room ducking from a shoe flying through the air*
  7. Thanks all, my buddy lives just off the lake he told me its been rough going. Two clubs fished last week and a total of 16 lb for a 2 day won one, and the other club weighed in next to nothing. That lake muddies up with no rain. Oh well Ill check in later and let you know how I did. Lee when are they opening that lock? Its been closed awhile now?
  8. Be careful down there, Miami Gardens can get a little rough at times. If you can make your way around the Snake River Canal by Dolphin stadium its full of Peacock. I think you should be able to find some bank accesses off 441 or out by the Turnpike. It runs east to west just north of the stadium. Baits...Those Traps with the little willow leaf on them and noisy top water baits. Good Luck
  9. Hows it looking up there Fishindaddy, I heard it muddied up. My buddy asked me to fish a tournament this Saturday. I'm heading up Friday.
  10. What type of bass is that? A Largemouth? It looks a little different.
  11. Thanks A kicker away from a win, and we cashed a check.
  12. I came in 5th with 23.12 pounds. My fish held nicely, I knew we needed a kicker to put it away I just couldn't raise a big fish, I was culling three and a half pound fish. We had 2 a little over 5. Oh well next year.
  13. IMO it depends on the weather, a strong front passing shuts them down and you better have a flipping stick on hand, like mentioned above look for mats and dieing vegetation that give off heat, a few days after the front with mild weather they could go on a pre spawn feed like mad and be chasing toads and top water.
  14. Yup a big nothing, they've been doing a good job at keeping the lake at the right level lately.
  15. Back, rising water pushes them back, at least in Florida it does, I cant speak for the rest of the southeast.
  16. Absolutely, but when on fish, drastic change is rarely good when it comes them staying were you found them.
  17. Pre fished last week for 3 days for a Saturday Tourney. Found two sets of nice fish, that will all change with this storm dumping a foot of water on the BIG O. Pumps will be running like mad. Oh well.
  18. Figured it out, I must have inadvertently registered again instead of signing in, didn't use the dash, and started a new member. So in essence iv stole my own identity :-[ I know, I know, I'm a moron. Man that was bugging me, I disnt want to be a rookie all over again.
  19. Good job, I struggled up north on Saturday, we would have done good if we caught every bite but had to weed through a million dinks. I had some nice fish in the Box but we didnt want to make the run from Okee Tanti with a 100pm weigh in, I guess we should have.
  20. HA!!! No its been 30 since that.
  21. I cut the tip of my finger off on Orange, it looks like it came back nicely after that sink hole drained. If you find my finger send it down.
  22. The fish are bunched up, their hard to figure out, every time I think they moved way out I catch a good fish in side. I have my first Tourney of a trail on the 4th, if my fish hold I should be all right.
  23. fishincop640, correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to have a lot of issues that may be caused by trying to cram tournaments in with shift work scheduling. Iv been there, I learned it isn't worth it unless you have the preparation time. I used to try and fish trails not knowing if i could have the day off or going straight to fish after working midnights, same thing used to happen, un charged battery's,baits not re tied. Its a tuff road to travel buddy.
  24. The best way to combat this is buy a boat. I'm in the "boater controls the boat" camp, I'll listen to the non boater but too many times the sentence starts off with , their catching them down........, soon as I hear that its done, many go chasing information, you'll never win that way.
