  1. No its not my IQ. Be careful boys!! Okeechobee's at the lower unit, prop busting, level right now. Some unbelievable fishing if you know the lake, getting to them can be scary if you don't. Where the photo of me adjacent to the thread was taken can be accessed by my truck right now.
  2. By the end of May the big ones will start eating. I used to love fishing the canals this time of year.
  3. Look who the cat drug in.
  4. He must have snagged them with a big treble hook.
  5. Thanks a lot, I appreciate. That would be an issue wouldn't you think? I saw that quick release bracket and wondered the same thing.
  6. Power Poles already got in a jam with false videos once so I'm having a hard time with believing any of their claims. Iv fished with power poles many a time and like I said its a great product but I would venture to say those poles in those videos were toast for any long term use after those tests. All they showed me was that the brackets were strong. If something was falsified once it kind of kills it with me.
  7. Flyboy, does the Talon have an emergency disengage? I was wondering if it got stuck down due to a blown fuse or other issue could you get it up to get in? Glenn I could were that would be an issue, however it doesn't effect my situation. In some online searches I read were the Talon extends about a 1/2 inch above the cowling, it was on the internet so it must be true
  8. Iv been looking at this new anchor system(for lack of a better description), most of the search's Iv conducted come up with guys saying how much better the Power Pole is, problem being is that most of those guys have Power Poles, in my 52 years of dealing with Bass fisherman Iv learned that they all have the fastest boat and best equipment, until they buy a new one then that becomes the best. Also PP has been out for a long time making it hard to find any experience good or bad with the Talon. After some research Iv learned that Talons are a substantial amount cheaper, and are easier to install. Room is a big issue on my boat, I have 5 battery's, trim tab pump, along with oil tank and airator in an already small back compartment. No hydrolics would be a lot better. Iv fished on boats with the PP its a great product, without referring to any of the videos put out and removed, has anyone had or know of any negative experience with the Talons?
  9. I just found out my 101 is shot, I got about 10 years out of it so I ordered a new one. I fish Florida grassy lakes and the 101 is a must. If you have the room for the battery's and the boats over 18 I would advise the 101.
  10. More apt to be trying to eat your bait competing for the food, but they will cannibalize, many of little bass have been spit up in my live well.
  11. Land of Lakes=Land of Trophy Bass
  12. Be careful Cowgirl its low. Bring the kids to the east side of Kings bar, stop about 500 yards out and idle in to the grass, throw naked swimmers along the edge of the grass and they'll catch a bunch of fish. See you in June.
  13. Well I just got back, I fished Thursday, Friday, Today. Its insane, Kings Bar must have a million dinks in the Kissimmee grass, their in a foot of water, they aint gonna win you anything but their fun. The problem with pre fishing now is having the sense to leave biting fish to find the quality fish. Pre fishing tournaments all the time is a thankless job, always searching when you find them running away from them until tournament day. With no exaggeration I bet Ive caught a 100 keeper fish in the 3 day period. I think I finally found the winners, a 6 and 7 on consecutive casts, well see next Saturday, its probably going to take 30 pounds to win. This is the Classic, I'm going to take a little break afterwords and go have some fun.
  14. Sun and Lakes has a great golf course. What about Istapoka, that's not to far down the road.
  15. Lots of good saltwater inland fishing. Your about an hour and a half from Okeechobee, and probably closer to Istapoka and Kissimmee across 60. Then the Harris chains right up the block, probably a ton of canals and local small holes. You have the Rock Pits east. Get with Fishindaddy hes the man up there. In the immediate area there's Tarpon Lake, which i find the dullest most void of natural structure in the state.
  16. In a kayak a 2lbers like a 5. Looks like fun.
  17. Yesterday 21 lbs got you 10th place. The sacks of fish being brought in right now are insane. 2 over 30 A bunch over 25
  18. Was that guide Kip by any chance?
  19. You can still get out of Uncle Joes, just swing out a ways to go north, and to go south swing out but watch those spoil islands on the right, you cant go too far out to go south.
  20. Theres about 5 great fishing holes between you and that rim ditch that are realy producing great catches now, are you sure you want to drive down to Homestead? Or is it just bank fishing you're hunting?
  21. I cut the tip of my finger off in Orange. Circa 1981: trying to pry open a locked down trolling motor with a Buck Knife. Just sayin.
  22. Mays a great month, the top water bite will be in full swing. All mentioned are great options. Waters dropping in most parts of the state, so keep that in mind if your unfamiliar with the water. Big O is on fire,we're catching some great sacks of fish. I caught 171/2 lb yesterday to put me in 9th out of 48 boats, but to give you an idea I was culling 3 1/2 fish. We must have caught 30 fish. I knew I needed that kicker. But back on subject, May is one of my favorite months, the bream spawn will be in full swing and the Bass will be crazy.
  23. In other words distance was her best feature. :-/
  24. There is no deep water in Lake Monroe unless you are in the single channel that connects the Port of Sanford with the main river. The average deepest parts of the lake are only about 6'. Fish the North and Northwest corner of the lake as well as the Southeast corner. There is some really good fishing in Lake Monroe you just have to find them. I said deeper, not deep, in a shallow lake 3 feet is a staging area. I agree with just having to find them, that's the case in every lake.
  25. Never have always saw it off of the HWY. This time of year look for post and pre spawn bass in deeper water adjacent to spawning flats, or if the moons right cruise those same flats stealthily.
