  1. Traps and swim jigs in the AM for schoolers. Slow worm deep hydrilla later in the day.
  2. Their pumping like mad, the rain gives them an excuse to start back pumping at the lake and running the water down to the glades. They figure the rise will be attributed to the recent rain when in reality its them back pumping. Nice fish, the hats got to go.
  3. Nice, I love that HS American Shad.
  4. Its amazing how everything looks the same from the air.Its harder then one thinks to get bearings especially in a helicopter. I went in one once to help a guy navigate around Hollywood, at night, we took off, a couple of 360, and I didn't have clue where we were.
  5. Lots of work and smell, but some guys have it mastered. Check out the tackle making forum.
  6. South Fla, believe it or not if you know how to get out there its some unbelievable fishing right now. My partners cracking them out there. I'm finally getting better after this rotators cuff surgery last month, this weekend im heading out. The problem with where I am up north is putting in, both ramps at Okeetanti and Scott Driver are very hard to use and with the water at the end, Im going to try Indian Prairie his weekend. It must have been some sight to see from above while at this level.
  7. Sorry Clear Coat not enough coffee yet. I tried a search to no avail, I was wondering what worked best for you guys as far as glossy look and durability. Also is this applied with the airbrush?
  8. Yes the canals usable, but you'll catch hell getting to the lake, you have to ease through the end. The ramp may be a little tough to use, but as steep as it is you can probably get in and out. If your just looking to fish a canal go to the J&S canals, they get loaded with fish during low water.
  9. Excellent, Sounds like the exact same description of Okeechobee right now only more like 5 feet down. Thanks a lot, very helpful.
  10. Try sinking a 12 inch worm at the cuts out at 3 Pines. I used to kill the big fish out there when conditions were as they are.
  11. Hey Brothers, Southeastern member sneaking in to ask a question, my son lives on the north side of Houston. I noticed hes not too far from this lake, and another a little to the east. Question 1; hows the facility's around the lake rooms, ramps, safety etc.. Question 2: looks about 1/2 hour out of Houston, is that correct? Questions 3: Any major problems as of late draw downs, droughts, flood would I be better off going elsewhere. Question 4 My sons interested in a local club as a non boater, any suggestions. I live on the north rim of Lake Okeechobee maybe we can work out a trade if anyone has a back seat out there. Be glad to return the favor. That would keep me form having to drag my boat out there. I'm talking late summer August, September, or early fall.
  12. Scott Driver and OkeeTanti ramps on the north end are now unusable. Theres a make shift ramp about 5 miles up the dirt road adjacent to the Kissimee Rivers east side. They put it in the last time the water went down, a 4x4 is highly recommended.
  13. If you fish a lot and get 2 -3 years out of trolling motor batteries you v done good.
  14. My partner went back out today and caught 20 lbs with a 7lb anchor at the same spots, the difference was wind, we had none Sunday. When that lake has no wind you have to move out and slow down, none of which we did on Sunday. .
  15. You got mail! Its been canceled, they e mailed me today.
  16. That was fun. Didn't abide well, no big bites, no check. Oh well still caught fish all day and had a blast. I love Toho.
  17. Interesting, thanks for the info.
  18. My buddy needs me to fill iin on Sunday for the Toho Trail and hes on some Toads. Can't wait to fish a lake with actually water in it.
  19. I'm really enjoying these, the interviewer is doing a great job by letting him talk.
  20. IMO: Flipping is one of the most diversely described methods of fishing. Many describe what I would call pitching, flipping, and at times casting by weeds as flipping.. What I consider flipping is into heavy cover with a 1 to 1/2 ounce weight dropping into heavy vegetation that's matted or blown into cat tails. To answer the question, for MY DESCRIPTION ABOVE I wouldn't opt for a senko, it can work but this is usually better with a smaller piece of plastic, such as a craw or bug. Im sure at times flipping a large worm or Senko would work well but in general it would slow down the presentation not allowing the covering of a large area. At least this is what I find down in the south's grassy swamps. I would rather cast a senko to a hard line of reeds or hydrilla with spinning gear, weightless letting it fall down the edge. Signed: My 2 cents
  21. Funny the eyes are that of a Suwanee Red Eye bass native only to the Suwanee River in Florida. Everything else points to a Largemouth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redeye_bass
  22. Years back I had an old pick up with a tool box, I used to keep the box open so they wouldn't ruin anything, all that was in there was old wire cutters and so forth. The moron used an ignition punch without checking the button on the tool box and jammed it shut. If he would have just tried it, it would have opened, he left with nothing.
  23. It used to be a big problem in the Broward area canals, I haven't fished them in years. It always irked me, they cant find enough victims in the citys they have to come out there and mess with fisherman. Years ago an off duty Broward cop walked up to his car being burglarized and was held at gun point by the thief, the officer asked if his wife could bring him a towel, she did and it had his gun in it, he killed the bad guy.
