  1. I really don't know why they allow tournament anglers to fish those pumps, it should be off limits past the weir. The lakes low because they have had the gates open all summer, its insane, the dry season is knocking at the door and the lake will soon be dropping again, look for a low winter. Unless we get a tropical storm between now and Nov. I went out the Saturday and Sunday they fished, I had 14lbs the first day and 23 the second day. I never heard of this trail is it the Bassmasters version of BFL?
  2. If your catching 6,7,8 lb bass you're in the right spot. Theres 10s in there, trust me.
  3. Add traps, top water, and frogs to the list.
  4. There may have got it.
  5. Bob, It takes years of busting lower units, getting stuck and being out there when its been low to effectively learn it. Its easier now with the quality GPS maps, but getting out there is half the battle.
  6. Been there done that, Ice is your friend. Hopefully it will suck back in, 3 years ago I went to the floor and couldn't get up, spent a week in hospital until they did the epidural shot. That took about 3 days to set in. It gets better you just always have to watch it, riding in these bass boats kills you after awhile.
  7. I cant add the photo I don't know what Im doing wrong, I re sized the picture and it said the download was successful. Oh well ill explain it, its my ugly azz holding about a 4lber.
  8. Does this bass make my face look fat? Got into a really strong school of quality fish all in the 4-5 lb rang had two 7+ shake off at the boat and broke off on one the I didn't get a look at but was pulling me to More Haven, didn't have my drag set. Landed a 6, safe to say it was the winning sack today if I was fishing a tournament. 25ish to 28lb sack. Biggest school of large fish Iv encountered, it was insane. I only snapped this photo because it was fast and furious, I didn't want to stop, its probably the smallest fish of the bunch.
  9. I'm heading to Clewiston in about 15 minutes. Ill check back later today.
  10. They head for the flats when the water comes up. I don't care how hot the water is.
  11. 24 lbs won the Extream Trail at Toho I think last weekend or the one before..
  12. Speaking as someone whose been fishing a lake that has been 5 feet low for about the past year I can tell you this, the bass are there you just have think different, look for any type of structure no matter how small. When all of the normal structure is absent the bass will use anything to ambush even a pot hole. Check out a map for old creek beds or submerged canals, watch where the land leads in to the lake showing a creek or ditch, lots of times it will continue. Also what Iv done is down sized all my line, its open water fishing you don't need heavy line.
  13. You got it FD, they said they aren't having it until the lake reaches 12 feet, that may be just around when the dry season begins again and it will start going down again.
  14. UPDATE!!!! Canceled until the lake reaches 12 feet.
  15. If at the north end try to contact one of Wrights (father and son) or Bucky they can be located out of Garrard's tackle shop in Okeechobee.
  16. I wouldn't mind a little skirt by with about a foot of rain in the lake and no wind damage.
  17. I'm lucky. They would take one look at what a small meal it would be and proceed to someone else.
  18. No not that far down the closest I go is Lake Talquin just out of Tallahassee, great lake.
  19. Where you at? Way down the panhandle? The bend?
  20. Team trail, 70 a boat includes big fish, you choose and keep your own partner and can have a stand in once or twice. I think there's a 30 fee but cant remember, it may be 20. You have to fish 4 to make the classic.
  21. I also fish for everything you mentioned there SSAL, and all fish are challenging in their own way. I was just posting this a little joke, take it easy there champ.
  22. I loved that format.
  23. Just a heads up if your looking for a decent Team Trail to fish the Okeechobee Christian Team Trail starts in September. They launch out of Okee Tanti ramp on the first Saturday of every month. Its a very well run and competitive trail. Last years it averaged about 40-50 boats. The one negative is that they weigh in at 100pm, years back they used to do this in Sept and October only, but somehow it became the norm. It really factors in on your game plan, should I make a long run or not? Its not bad for college football fans I have nothing to do with it i just have been fishing it for years now and always thought it was a well run deal and thought Id share.
  24. I was watching that FLW on TV and got a kick out of those dudes. A whole different breed.
  25. Or are these Walleye tournament guys a weird bunch.
