  1. Absolutely, and I know that, but in a hurry, an hour to weigh in, trying to get out of there. All I can say is I was shocked how quick it happened, I shivered think of all the times iv stopped in the middle of the lake to tie something down in rough water. It happens out there in the winter your done.
  2. Actually the new owner called me, they just bought the company from the guy that had it in Ft Myers and their starting to build them again. He wanted to know if i wanted to fix mine. Too much, I think I want a new boat. Its a toss up between a Big O and a Bass Cat.
  3. Did I mention we had a nice sack of fish and probably would have been in the money.
  4. It looked just like mine. That's because it was. Just had it fixed up the way I wanted, took two rollers over the back trying to reach down and clear dead cat tails off my prop, Iv done the same thing a million times. my partner jumped up front and tried to get the trolling motor down couldn't do it. She tipped towards the back and took 2 more waves and down she went. Waited an hour in 5 foot of water up to our chest for GFWL boat to pick us up, drug it in the next day Fairly new 250 E Tech, New talons, New 101, wiring all toast. Waiting on State Farm, probably will be totaled. Luckily I had replacement value so Ill get a sizable chunk for a new one.
  5. Thats hard not to agree with. As a fellow Geezer seeing Roland make a strong run would be cool. And thanks Pescicdal, you come in with some pretty good sacks yourself.
  6. Exactly, whenever the boat argument comes up I ask wheres all the other old boats. Big O's as well. But its been good to me. Its on its 3rd engine, the best feature is that its paid for.
  7. Shaw Grisby on my boat in the very early 90s. I actually guided for him on a fly fishing tournament at lake Okeechobee. The Harold Deetar Fly fishing tournament, a friend of mine ran it at the time and we would bring out all these outdoor writers and celebrities. I was lucky enough to draw Shaw. Great guy, he fished that little fun tournament like it was the Bassmasters classic. Thats my same Storm when it was Blue & Gold, in 2000 I had it repainted. That was my first engine the Evinrude Fingerported 225, that engine screamed. He would be the only person I would let clime on my cowling like that.
  8. IMO if you go out of the north end Buck Durrance out of Okeechobee is one of the best fisherman on the lake. Many of the other guides will contest to this.
  9. It kicked my but as well, a sorry scrawny bag of 4 fish. And no check. But it happens.
  10. I would give anything to be fishing today, full moon, pending front, January. This weekend is going to be tough is right.
  11. I think they went to lethal injection as well down here if I'm not mistaken. After a screw up in the system in 99 they went to the needle.
  12. Thank you.Not bad for 20 years old. I had it re done awhile back and re powered 2 years ago for the 3rd time. Me and my son got a couple of 7s out of there a couple of weeks ago. I posted pictures. The waters dropping. It pulled them out of that grass my guess is there out in the hydrilla
  13. Get the chair warmed up. Or needle sharpened.
  14. I talked to him/you Saturday, I came in back of you about 11:30 in the Box. You asked me if I had any fish. Told you a small limit, I was in a white Storm. Twin Talons fishing with a big guy.I went way in the grass for about a 1/2 hour and left. I just returned from the lake, fishing has been brutal since that front. We came in about top ten just out of the money. Lots of no limits and zeros. I think 2nd was 13 lbs When 20 lbs wins with 60 some odd boats at that lake you know the fish are shut down. That boat must scoot with that 50 on it.
  15. What kind of boat do you have?
  16. I'm heading up today to pre fish for a Saturday tourney. Its going to be slow and the bad part is pre fishing in this doesnt allow the coverage of a lot of water. BUT!! It makes you a better fisherman to learn what to do in these conditions. Winds supposed to lie down that will be a big help, and should slowly start to warm.
  17. James Mcmillian father of Brandon Mcmillian winner of last years FLW was killed in a hold up this morning. I tried pasting the link but couldn't. Google Bell Glade News. He was a great fisherman himself and past winner of FLW My prayers go out to the family.
  18. Ha! Those Yankees are always hanging stuff on their hats.
  19. Didn't they build a new hotel down by Camp Mack? I had to spend a night at Richardson's on Toho about a month ago. I didn't think it could be as worn out as it was 20 years prior. I was wrong But the people were super nice and hell, it was a fishing trip not a honey moon.
  20. Man if you went I bet you tore it up with this front coming in.
  21. Man Id love to catch some smallies. Caught one in my life on a trip to Wisconsin.
  22. I don't get that either. During our drought there was tons of water up north. But like South Fla eluded too the ACE cant win, its not as easy as everyone thinks, being in a profession that is constantly second guessed I kind of understand their problems and try to go easy on them.
  23. This is exactly my point. Like South Fla mentions and like much about everything in life, the BS filter has got to be on and in high gear when fishing is concerned.
  24. When I use the term information I mean fishing areas based on what other fisherman told you. I understand at times some info can be helpful as far as the general pattern or what the fish are doing but there's fisherman that spend more time trying to find out where people are catching fish rather then just go and finding fish themselves. IMO, it just brings you to worn out fish that have been beat up, if someones telling you about it then 5 other people already know about it. Have you ever noticed many of times that the good fisherman are in another new spot while a crowd of people are where he was the last tournament. Salmicropterus I didn't mean to insinuate that you went in on him I was just using that situation to comment on the topic of "information". I apologize if sounded that way. It probably deserves its own thread.
