  2. I hear you on that. Next time stay up north, more options off and on the Lake.
  3. No but I can imagine. I don't know how they stop fishing for 6 months I realy don't. Of course many I now start hunting to fill the gap. Look at the bright side your in laws will be around in the summer.
  4. Nice seeing you again Lee. That North Shore area gets a lot of pressure but at times you can find your own little pattern and get a nice sack, like moving off a bit, in, out, etc. When I left you I fished about another hour and went in. That point ( Horse Island) I pointed out had shiner boats lined up every 20 yards, they must be catching them there buts like all information fishing now its getting pounded. I didn't even go out this morning maybe later. Have fun and be safe should get better as it starts warming, like around March
  5. Welcome to the forum and the sport, join a local club and you'll learn even more and find you also joined a culture thats full of some pretty cool people.
  6. Oh yeah, do you know about the north trail, at this level you can run from Okee Tanti to Clewiston staying inside pretty much the whole trip. Keep in mind thats at this level. How did the inside of moonshine look, did it open up or is it still all clogged up?
  7. Those fish are buckled down. Of course someone could hit the mother load flipping. Tomorrow will be worse.
  8. Like FD said no fishing from the banks or anywhere in there. You can get a guided trip but its very expensive and Iv heard good and bad about them.
  9. Check your message. All this fishing is cutting into my drinking time.
  10. Your guys timing may be a little off I came up Monday and they've been eating the banks down for 3 days, I'm gong out again this morning. A bad fronts on its way for Friday. Heres a crappy picture of of one of the 20 or so fish a day Iv been averaging, I figure about 18lbs Monday, yesterday I got over 20 lbs twice from 2 different spots..
  11. Also be stealth like on your walk down the bank, a bedding female can be easily spooked from crashing around on the bank.
  12. You have miles of canals, the canal off 84 the runs east and west from the ocean to Sawgrass. Any lake in the private developments, like mentioned about the US 27 canal on the west side. Anywhere out there if its bigger then a swimming pool and deeper then 2 foot. Right now I would carry a Tiny Torpedo and just parallel the banks as best as you can your bound to drag it by a Hawg on a bed. Side note: Don't eat anything caught out there. Unless you don't mind having children with 4 eyes and an extra leg.
  13. 20s been the magic number but I have a feeling thats going to change. My partner caught a 20+ pound sack Saturday fun fishing..
  14. Anyone know what weight won the Toys for Tots?
  15. Oh yeah Iv known Art for years, him, Sam Griffin and Tony all the Moore Haven boys were at the wiegh in. We went over to JS, Henrey Creek area.
  16. Hey man I wish I would have ran into you. We came in 8th, cashed a check. my partner lost one on the first pitch we weren't even ready I didn't have to trolling motor down, he was just kinda of getting his stuff ready and a 5 lber swam off with his bait handcuffed him between the boat and cover jumped a foot away from me and it came off. We had a 5 1/2. Iv seen this dude lose maybe 2 fish in the 20 years we fished together. Would have put us in about 2nd I figured. The winers told me they were flipping mats, I looked in their boat, they weren't flipping no mats, there was a pile of Big EZ's on the floor.
  17. I dont know how you guys do it, I haven't been fishing in a week and I'm going crazy.
  18. I put the original bags inside large zip-locks all labeled accordingly, Craws, Toads etc... Iv tried all methods boxes, soft sided bags, et.. this gives me more space with a specif department on my boat to hold them all, its easy to look in there and find the genre of plastic I'm looking for. Less weight then boxes as well.
  19. And to add what South FLA correctly mentions, if you get a stiff northeast wind/ front from there its about a 20 minute ride maybe a little more west to Harney Pond Ramp in Lake Port, which puts you in the North Shore area thats fairly well protected from Horse island all the way down to Harney pond, close to the Box and Bird Island. Which also is historically one of the best places to fish this time of year, ask Tharp and McMillan.
  20. And more stuff to do with the family. Forget Moonshine inaccessible for years to thick, maybe tuck in up by Twin Palms or the monkey box.
  21. Rolands is nice the condos or the hotels, Tiki bar, restaurants, access to the south and northwest ares of the lake. Let me know when you get settled I can help on where to fish..
  22. From what I watched he knows how to flip and pitch. Anyone wondering how its done watch him, thats how you do it.
  23. Tough time of year, fronts etc.. I don't know what their doing, I'm wondering if their way back. Another big cold spells on its way, that has to bring them in. Iv been struggling as well cant find any big fish. I haven't been going as much with the Thanksgiving coming, but last week i was up the for 3 days and found about 15 lbs a day. I just watched a couple of this dudes videos mikey ballz, he's a trip. Is he on here?
  24. Just 15 Sun Screen. *Nose falls on deck of the boat*
