  1. The west coast of Florida in general lacks good fresh water fishing, with the exception of canals and a few lakes. But like mentioned makes up for it in salt water fishing. I would go down the alley a ways of like suggested already down the trail. Lake Trafford used to be an very productive lake back in the 70s, I haven't been since about then, very small and grass effects it greatly.
  2. If your goal is a double digit, I wouldn't go further south then Toho, in fact I would go to Toho. If you want insane numbers with a few 6, 7, and 8s thrown in Id go to Okeechobee. Depending on water levels If you want even more insane numbers with 5s and 6s Id go to the Everglades
  3. My MIL lives off Becker Road, have you ever fished those canal/lakes right by 95 and Becker? They look nice but I dont know if you can get to them.
  4. May be the single hardest lake to bank fish, unless you are live bait fishing for specks. Theres a pier at the north end of the lake in the city of Okeechobee. Several areas down by lake port right were fish eating creek goes under 78.
  5. Thanks for all the kind words. its a roller coaster right now.
  6. Hope all is well with y'all. Unfortunately I lost my 32 year old son to a horrific traffic accident last week in Okeechobee. He just started getting into the position in life where we could fish together, past summer we fished 3 tournaments together 1st and Big fish (his), 2nd, and 3rd cashing checks in everyone of them. They were his first tournaments. He never showed interest in it as a young kid but then started getting into later in life. He looked at me on the way home and said this stuffs easy. We started laughing at that. Thanks for letting me share its somewhat therapeutic.
  7. Kip Grunlo Bassing on line One of the best.
  8. You may want to consider Okeechobee, everyone from Kentucky and Tennessee are buying up property like mad around the lake. Also I may add that summer fishing in Florida is off the charts until about 12.00.
  9. I havent a clue, Iv been sucking so bad lately I refuse to give advice.
  10. Larry Wright out of Gerrard's in Okeechobee. Or Mike Jones, or like mentioned Steve Daniels.
  11. What about Branford in the Suwanee? shouldn't be too long of a ride. I used to catch those red eye bass there and had a blast.
  12. It was all right they cut us lose the first day. I thought maybe get a hat thrown my way or something, Nada. Fred got a few of the baits they were using.
  13. I hope they fit in my boat.
  14. I'm going to be one of the camera boats for this show this weekend out of the north end of Okeechobee. Should be interesting.
  15. 10 to 15 feet in the middle, about 2 feet from the bank it drops to the middle. Theres the whole canal system. cast to the bank or flip, if the waters high enough get in the flats.
  16. Just fish hard and cover a lot of water. When your on them you'll know.
  17. You got the Statesboro Blues?
  18. What Oregon said , find a club that doesnt fish teams and has non boaters. Youll learn a lot and meat fisherman from you area. St Luci and Stuart have some big clubs.
  19. Just message me if you can commit to the year. This will be for joining purposes only, no pre fishing or sharing hotels etc.. They are all in Okeechobee.

  22. If coming from Tenn, you'll pass what I think is one of the best stores Iv been in Academy Sports, they're all through the southeast but none south of Tallahassee. Unbelievable they carry their own brand of lures line rods and its all quality stuff for half the price, their lures are frigging unreal coated like a high quality lures for like 3 bucks and change. I picked up a 79 dollar flipping stick that I couldnt believe.
  23. My buddy had an old Sea Nymph and we did everything possible to destroy that thing with negative results. Very good boat.
  24. Theres a ramp in South Bay right off the rim ditch that puts you west of Boy Scouts Cut, Its right off 27 as you're leaving South bay on your right. Then theres the Bell Glade public ramp, these would be your best bet coming from South Florida. Both would put you pretty close to some decent fishing. My hot spots are about 40 miles away so I wont tell you about them.
