  1. While surfing through Craigslist earlier today I came across this ad and thought this would be a good place to put it. I know it would totally suck to lose my stuff. Feel free to move or delete it if I'm not supposed to post this type of stuff. Thanks "On Saturday night Someone broke into my house and stole my fishing rods along with other items. These were custom made rods given from my mother to my father for a B-Day present a number of years ago. Since he sold his boat and I just got mine, he gave me the rods. I want them back! Below is a picture of what they stole. Six total rods and 1 large gold gaff were stolen(4 penn internationals reels consisting of two 50's and two 30's and two Shimano Reels -80w's). My father's name on the base of four of the rods "George ________ JR.". The rods are black with gold thread. The 80w's are rare, easy to pick out in a crowd. Any info leading to the recovery of these rods will be REWARDED!!!!" Here's the contact info if anyone has a tip: sale-812368890@craigslist.org
  2. I think your right. Besides, I intend on attaching a few more items to the yak so I might as well have it. Good advice! Thanks
  3. That works for me. Thanks for the info!
  4. I bought some paddle holders (paddle clips) for my kayak at BPS. It came with 4 rivets. The instructions say to mark where you want to drill the holes and once the holes are drilled, insert the rivets and pop them on the boat using a blind rivet gun. Problem is I dont have a rivet gun, blind or not! My question is, can I use stainless steel screwes in place of the rivets? And if so, do I use threadlock and some type of sealant glue? And lastly, do I need some type of washer or rubber o-ring? I appreciate the input! Thanks
  5. Does anyone know if you have to register an 8' kayak in the State of Florida? No motor on it. Thanks
  6. Nice fish! Thanks for the info on not using braid with soft swimbaits. I fish mostly with braid but will definetly keep at least one rod/reel loaded with mono or floro for this purpose.
  7. Cool! I'm going to check them out. See if I can scrounge up some cash and pick one up. It definelty looks awesome and judging from your pics it works awesome too. Hopefully I can post a few pics in the coming weeks. Thanks
  8. PM sent. I wanna help!
  9. "within 15 minutes a nice "regular size" bass of about 3 pounds (pictured below) bit my pet swimbait" Nice fish! What type of swimbait is that? I want to try one out but I'm not sure which one to start with and I also have to worry about the price. The one you have does look nice though!
  10. Dude, the peacock bass fishing is awesome! They are aggressive and great fighters.
  11. My inshore saltwater gear! It was an 8' Hurricane RedBone rod with a Quantum Cabo spinning reel loaded with 20lb power pro. Here in South Florida you never know what the next cast will bring! I love it
  12. Awesome! Sounds like you would have taken first had it not been for trolling motor issues. Congrats!
  13. Try a Stanley Ribbit Frog or a Rage Tail frog or shad. They both cause a disturbance on top of the water that should draw the bass in. Good luck!
  14. Someone else just gave me the same advise about using milk to get rid of the earthy taste. Thanks Dallas & Muddy! I might have to try that with Peacock bass too!
  15. Dont feel bad if you want to keep a fish. There is always going to be someone around with a negative comment but for the most part this forum is awesome and the anglers are extremely helpful, even when I have a somewhat dumb question. On another note, wanna share that recipe? I dont keep bass because of their somewhat "earthy" taste but if you have a good recipe, well, I might just give it a second chance. I understand if its a secret recipe! Thanks
  16. Ahhh, I see! Thanks dude!
  17. What exactly is a T-rig? Is it the same as wacky style?? Thanks
  18. Hey Catt, I want my rod broke! How do you rig them?
  19. Try the Stanley Ribbit frog. You get around 5 frogs for 2.99 at BPS and they work great! I use a 4/0 EWG Hook and 40lb Power Pro.
  20. I'm also a saltwater fisherman that just recently really got serious about freshwater fishing, mostly LMB and Peacock Bass. I use my inshore saltwater gear for bass fishing and have been doing really good. All my setups are spinning reels, 7-8 foot rods and I mostly use power pro with a floro leader if need be. So far my largest LMB weighed a little over 5lbs. Not bad considering it came from a small lake in a local park. I've also caught some really nice peacock bass. Start out with some worms, topwater frogs and jigs and you should do pretty good. Shiners always work too! Anyways, good luck!
  21. The fishing will go on but you can bet that we will have to pony up alot more money replacing all our "old plastic baits" with "the new improved bio version". d**n greedy trout!
  22. Try a topwater that splashes alot. I had the same issue in a local lake and I noticed that the group of 4 or 5 decent fish (i.e. 3 to 5lbs) wouldnt pay any attention to anything I threw at them until I tried a Stanley ribbit frog. Immediatly all of the fish turned towards the frog and I guess survival of the fittest kicked in because I got a devastating bite. So far I've had luck using this method a handful of times. Anyways, good luck! Oh yeah, theres a guy on the forum that sells hand poured frogs that look better than the stanleys.
  23. Try using a cooler to transport the bass to your house. Its larger than a bucket and will help keep the water cool for the 30 min run to your house. I'll be doing the same thing soon! Good luck
  24. It would work perfectly. I mostly fish inshore saltwater and just started getting serious with freshwater fishing and I use most of my gear for double duty. The only difference IMO are the lures.
