  1. Great video Capt. Shane. Do you ever see any pythons in the Glades?
  2. I would choose the IMX. I already have a 6' CR723 IMX and a 7' MBR 844 IMX. I would use it for light Texas rigs, light jigs, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits and small shallow running cranks.
  3. X2 for the Curado 50E
  4. I have shipped a rod in the past with the USPS and they broke it. It was a MBR783C GLX and it was insured. I sold a BCR893 GLX on ebay around a week ago and I took it the my local PO to ship it and they refused. They said it was too long. I shipped it with FedEx for around $30.00 (Fla to Mo) and I was pretty happy about it.
  5. Anyone have an opinion on P-Line CXX X-Tra Strong?
  6. Love Magic Eraser here too!
  7. A medium swimbait rod! I never would have figured that for a bait as big as a Big EZ. roadworrior, I know that you were not saying that you throw a Big EZ with the MBR842. I have researched the MBR842 on this site and I have read that you throw the Kitech Swing Impact swimbait with the 842. The 842 is definitely on my 'want list'. I would put my Curado 50E on it. Are you using the smallest Kitech swimbait with the 842?
  8. I am wanting a small swimbait rod. Specifically a Big EZ rod. A Big EZ with a 1/8 weighted hook weighs roughly 3/4oz so I do know that I want a heavy power rod. Maybe even a heavy +. Should I be looking for a moderate or a fast action rod? Right now, I am using my MBR844 but IMHO, the MBR844 is more of a MH +. If it's a fast action that I need, then I will get a MBR845. If it's a moderate action, then I have nothing in mind.
  9. Thanks! Ripping! LOL
  10. Harder on hooksets with just Curado's?BTW, Where is this pawl? I looked on my 50E schematc and it's #4184 but I can't see a #4184 anywhere.
  11. x3. I will add that if you are really worried about it, ask plenty of questions and make sure there is a return policy and always pay by using PayPal.
  12. Nor I...............
  13. Nice move on your part baluga! I wish Shimano had done the same with the 50E. In fact, the plastic drag star is my only complaint with my 50E.
  14. I have thought about getting a CF ZPI handle for my Calais 100A. Not for looks but for length. The handle on the 100A is a little short. Tackle Tour says the handle on the Antares AR is 70mm. I am assuming the Calais 100A handle length is the same as the AR. They upgraded to a 80mm ZPI handle. Japan Tackle has 85mm handles in stock. Darn shame they are so pricey.
  15. I'll bet an arrow saw would be great for cutting a blank. Mine goes through carbon and aluminum arrow shafts with no problems.
  16. Here is Tackle Tour's review on the Antares DC7. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewantaresdc7.html And this guy loves his DC7
  17. Loomis MBR842C GLX
  18. I just weighed a weightless Fluke w/a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook and it weighed just under 5/16oz. My Curado 50E will easily throw that as will my Calcutta 100B. That is using a heavy action rod too. The rod that I eventually want to get for the light stuff is a Loomis BCR803. You can get the Mosseyback model on ebay for just over 200.00 shipped or the GLX model for 300.00 shipped. Get the 50E for around 100.00 and you have a great outfit.
  19. Probably a Mossyback for that price.
  20. BassHole, I don't know anything about at all about your set-up. Mine is... GLoomis MBR844C-IMX H-F Shimano Calais 100A, I just bought the reel off of EBAY. When it get's here, it will go on the rod. 50# Suffix 832
  21. Jeb, I don't know if I want a BCR853 or a BCR803. I have read what you and others have to say about the BCR 803GLX and I think that it might be the rod that I have been looking for. John
  22. A BCR853 is on my want list. $200.00 for a GLX BCR853, I would get it in a heartbeat.
  23. I just checked my 50E and I do have to crank my cast control knob down a good ways to get any tension. I have 2 brakes on and 4 off with about 3/8oz tied on. I never have thought anything was wrong before and I still don't.
  24. Post #19 was J Francho's....not mine. I have never fished with a Smoke but I have handled one at my local Dick's. My first impressions was that it was a sweet reel. Great looking and smooth.
