  1. Excluding the part about deep diving cranks and recoil guides, you could say the same thing about a MBR843 GLX. Maybe it was the 7'5" length that I didn't like. I don't know. I was using a Curado 50E on mine. I think that I had 15# P Line CX-Premium on it. All I know is that I read great things about it on this site and maybe I was expecting too much. I have also read great things on this site about the BCR803 GLX and that is why I bought it. My 803 is here to stay. If I were to buy a rod for Senko's, I would buy a MBR843 GLX.To the original poster, you said your travel tube is for 7' rods. The two Loomis rods that you inquired about are over 7'. The MBR843 is a 7' rod. From the Loomis website
  2. I guess the BCR893 is "the bomb" in educated hands. Not my hands though. I had one and I sold it and I used the money to put towards a BCR803. Why is the BCR893 considerd "the bomb"? I mean, what makes it such a great Senko rod?
  3. I feel for the guy. He probably forgot to renew his license and now the The Man will make him pay for it. Me personally, I think we pay more than enough taxes to support the outdoors in our perspective states that we shouldn't have to buy a license just to fish. Tight lines!
  4. I know that I am in the minority but I don't like Yo Zuri Hybrid. I thought it was very springy. I also don't think that you should have to apply a line conditioner to a line to make it a good line. I like P Line CX Premium better.
  5. Which President model for bass?
  6. I agree with roadwarrior about the 50E. One reel that I really want is a Lews. My local Dicks Sporting Goods has the 99 dollar one on display. I like that little reel. On eBay, Affordable Fishing has the Lews Tournament for around $118.00 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lews-Tournament-Speed-Spool-TS1H-Casting-Reel-149-MSRP-6-4-1-FREE-SHIP-NEW-/360437749010?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ebc39512#ht_2809wt_1110
  7. What kind of reel was this? Reel trade in -25.00
  8. Anyone here have this rod? Do you like it?
  9. It's 701nodaksports. I have bought a couple of GLoomis GLX's from these folks. Great service, great prices and fast shipping. http://myworld.ebay....sid=p4340.l2559
  10. I went fishing the other day with a Calcutta100 mounted on a GLoomis CR723. That is a 6ft MH/F rod. I was using it for small swimbaits.
  11. Lamiglas Excel rod and a Lew's Speed Spool reel. That would be around $200.00 maybe a little bit more. IMHO, It would be worth spending closer to the $200.00 or a little more if you have too. Also, I have zero experience with that set-up but both the Lew's Speed Spool and the Excel get great reviews.
  12. x3 on the CCW. I carry a Glock19 everywhere I go for the most part.
  13. Yes, I do cast with my left hand.
  14. 1/2oz and up I use a Loomis MBR 844 IMX with a Shimano Calais 100A....5.8:1 3/8oz and below I use a Loomis BCR803 GLX with a Shimano Curado 50E.....6.4:1
  15. It's a right hander's world. I am surprised there are as many left handed reels as there are. My first reel was a Zebco 33 and every reel that I have ever had has been a righty. I couldn't get used to reeling left handed reel if you paid me to learn and btw, I am left handed.
  16. Where would one look to find out some info on the rod the gentleman was using?
  17. When I saw the thread title, I thought it would be about Daiwa being outrageously expensive. LOL
  18. I just took a cap off of my older silver Calcutta 100 knobs and I was able to remove the knob. It too had a Philips head and it came off by turning normal (counter clockwise).
  19. This is what I see. The knobs are not riveted on. I see a slot but I can't get a flat tip to fit in the slot for some reason.
  20. Japan Tackle says they are reverse thread if you have a right hand reel. I assume they mean left hand thread. Are they? I grabbed whatever little Philips screwdriver that I had and I think that I boogered up the head of the screw. The screw looks like I can use a flat tip. I just got back from my shop and either I don't have the right flat tip or I can't use a flat tip. I plan on adding bearings to my Calcutta 100B handle and I thought that I would just tinker around with the handle but his is becoming a real pita.
  21. DSG for me. The closest BPS is at least 2hrs away. I don't think Cabela's is even in Fla and Dicks is usually less than 10min away.
  22. I thought about getting one and using it for Speckled Trout (saltwater) or anything else, fresh or salt, that takes my bait. LOL
  23. An antique graphite fishing rod with no damage is just as fishable as it was the day it was made.
  24. It all depends on how much someone wants it. Put it on eBay and you will either be surprised or disappointed. I still remember the old adds for the Lightning Rod. Does yours have a foam grip? I bought one in the early nineties with a foam pistol grip and the blank ran through the grip and the grip had a cut a way so you could feel the blank.
