I do! It helps grip me maintain a more controlled grip on my Glock 19. Started using lotion in the U.S.Army. We all used it and also baby powder on our dogs!

You can fish a frog. I don't know how stout your rod is but tie one on and throw it out and start reeling. I usually throw a Senko and a Fluke weightless but you can add weight if you want. A Senko is already pretty heavy but with the Fluke, I would Texas Rig with a 1/8oz bullet weight and let it slide freely.

Jigs, weighted soft plastics, maybe some unweighted too, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, smaller swimbaits, etc etc etc. Do you know how to cast it? If so, just go to your favorite store and buy a bag or two of Zoom Trick Worms, Strike King Rage Tail Craws or Yum Money Craws, a pack of Gamakatsu 3/0 and 4/0 EWG Hooks and a pack of 1/4 bullet weights and have some fun.

I have thought about why this is and my conclusion is because that is what they see everyone else use. It's the same way around here to. If I go to the beach, there is a 99.9% chance that I will be the lone person using casting gear. Casting gear to most people is like an F-16 in 1941. They would know what is but not a clue as to how to use it.

The couple of times that I went out for Grouper aboard a party boat, I wish that I had had one of the belts that you wear around your waist and you can put the butt of the rod into. The ocean type combos are big, heavy and bulky and I found it hard to reel and hold the rod under my armpit at the same time.

I do to but I find myself wishing that I would have bought the GLX instead.

I use a Uni for everything except braid to flouro leader and for that I use an Alberto. I will be looking into the San Diego Jam for flouro. I use a Uni to Uni when I connect braid to mono backing when putting braid on a reel.

Do I use the plastic washer is my question? I put the handle on with no spacers and the drag star hit the handle. I then put the handle on with the thicker of the 2 spacers that is provided and it's works as it should but am I supposed to put the plastic washer on before the spacer?

To be fair to the OP, except for the Antares and Metanium, the non C and S Shimano reels are all JDM so he does have a valid point in regards to the N. American Market.

The Scorpions, Metaniums, Antares and Aldebarans are all baitcasters. There are also spinning reels that don't start with S.

15# Yo-Zuri Hybrid is like a Slinky on steroids. I put some on a reel yesterday and the only reason why is because I just bought a Deps Buzzjet. I have no fear of losing my new $30.00 lure with 15# Yo-Zuri Hybid. LOL

7' Medium Casting

Not too many things are as laughable IMHO as a 1/2 ton truck (any make) overloaded in the ass end going down the road. Landscapers are notorious for this. It's unsafe and not good for the truck either. To the OP, I know that you are getting a 1500 so I am just passing on some info. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD and if you want great fuel economy, don't get this truck with the gas motor. I get 11.4 MPG around town. If you haven't bought your truck yet, check out KBB.com It's a fun site to check out where you can build your own truck and see the price that you should pay. I found out (after I bought my truck), that I could have got the work truck version of my truck with a Duramax/Allison combo for the same price as my decked out gas guzzler.

Favorite reel is a Antares HG and right now, the rod would be a Loomis MBR844IMX. My favorite rod will change soon because Fathers Day is right around the corner.
