  1. There is smooth.............................................and then there is Antares HG smooth! Just sayin
  2. My wife says that Walleye are the best freshwater fish that she has ate. She grew up in the Buffalo area of New York and she and our son try to go up there every year for a vacation and they usually have a Walleye fish fry when they are. I would like to try it if I ever get a chance to get away from work.
  3. What kind of line are y'all using on your 1000's? I am thinking 4# or 6# Sunline Super Natural Mono when I get mine.
  4. I have tried many times but I just don't like to eat fish. I will say that the only freshwater fish that I have tried is fried Catfish. I like to catch the but not eat them.
  5. Capt Bob, not only do you have good taste in your fishing gear, your hat says that you have great taste in Archery gear too!
  6. I have an older 6' Clarus UL/MF that needs a reel. I haven't bought a spinning reel in years and am looking at a Stradic 1000FJ. Is this the right size reel or do I need something smaller?
  7. No problem! Get one before they are gone!
  8. It's just like the Curado with the spring.

  10. I am! It's a great little rod and it sooooo easy to work whatever lure I using. Thank you!
  11. It is nice to know little bits of info like this.
  12. I wasn't trying to be critical or a know it all. I was just saying that some Shimano's use different size washers. I ran into this problem when I lost a washer for a CTE100GT handle. I tried using the CU50E washers and they did not work. I found out that the CTEGT handle uses the same washers as the Conquests do. I took a washer out of one of my Conquests and it was perfect. Shimano U.S.A. only sells complete handle assembly's for the GT's so I couldn't buy individual washers for the 100GT handle. I got Kayo with Japan Tackle to order me some from Shimano Japan when I made a reel purchase. I now have some spare GT/Conquest knob washers. http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=54960
  13. I was wrong about the website address. Just Google Japan Lure Shop and they will come up. Thanks to the advice of Maico 1, I have my XT1000 mounted on a Loomis Bronzeback Topwater Rod.

  15. You have the same ones as a CU50E.
  16. A great place to get the Scorpion XT1000 is Japan Lure Shop .com. I have bought several reels from them and everything went fine and they are cheaper than Japan Tackle. If you like the CU50E, you will love the XT1000.
  17. Not all Shimano's use the same size knob washer. For example, a Curado 50E washer is a bigger diameter than what comes on a Conquest 50.
  18. You are a smart man! I think the little 50 size Shimano's make great top water reels because of how well they palm.
  19. Your Avatar pic makes me hurt just looking at it!
