  1. Mike, I will send it to you after Christmas.
  2. The Hookup Tackle has the Rep Sample 804GLX for $299.00 w/free shipping. I would be looking for change in between the cushions on the couch and under my truck seat and selling one of my wife's handbags to come up with the $99.00 to buy the GLX over the new IMX.
  3. I'll send it to Mike. BTW, this reel was bought new so I can't imagine that Shimano made it without all the parts.
  4. I made a new video with another Conquest 50. I did tighten the cast control knob and the noise did go away a lot but there is still internal noise that my other Conquest 50's do not have.
  5. I planned on sending it to DVT this week but I am going to hold off until after Christmas. In the meantime, I would like to know what the heck this noise is. The reel operates as it should other that this noise. If I didn't spin the handle fast I wouldn't even know that it has a problem because it is smooth and operates just fine.
  6. Use more braking and a tighter cast control knob than you normally would and or a heavier weight lure than you want to use. That is what I do. I am going to use up the last bit of 10# Sniper FC that I have and if I can't consistently cast well with it, I am switching to braid with a FC leader.
  7. It does get a little nippy down here. Hell, even the Yankees wear jackets! LOL
  8. Casting and MH/F Get yourself a Loomis MBR783C GLX and you will be set.
  9. More info is needed. I don't have a boat so I don't fish Lake Tarpon but I have fished from the little dock by John Chestnut Park. The weeds are thick around the perimeter that's for sure. Every report that I have seen about Lake Tarpon is people have success offshore using soft plastics. I have also heard that Drop Shot works good there and crankbaits in the winter time.
  10. Just ordered another Scorpion XT1000 and a 85mm ZPI Platinum Handle for my Antares AR from Japan Tackle. Also ordered some Power Grip II Knobs from Shimano.
  11. It would have to go back to Japan for warranty service. I would buy the necessary parts from either Japan or Shimano America and send it to DVT.
  12. Nice looking Bass!
  13. Right now it's a Rage Baby Craw.
  14. Saving line is the only benefit that I can think of. I will be using mine for Panfish so higher line capacity is not needed. If I hook a bigger fish and get spooled, well then I will have fun getting spooled with the 1000 and an UL Rod.
  15. Oh you are giving me way to much knowledge than I deserve. Maico 1 I am sure has forgotten more than I will ever know as others have too! Thanks anyway and Happy Thanksgiving!
  16. Japan Tackle says that the sideplate on the 300/400 doesn't open up. Only the 100 and 200 sizes open up. To the OP, Japan Tackle has the older model Conquest 300 for $409.00. I know it's more than you want to spend, but if the Conquest 300 is anything like the Conquest 50 and Conquest 100, it's money well spent. I know if I had the cash, there would be one on the way to my front door.
  17. I'd buy the Rareneium because IMHO, it is more appealing to my eyes and it's a JDM Shimano. I have the Rareneium 1000S and I like it a lot even though I haven't used it much or caught anything with it. The Rareneium 2500 has a knob like the one on my 1000 and I like it a whole lot better than the knob on the Stradic. The Rareneium 2500 is a little bit slower than the Stradic if that matters to you. Have you looked at the Shimano Japan Rareneium CI4+ page?
  18. The Metanium that came out in 2013. It is also referred to as the 13 Metanium by JDM retailers.
  19. I will buy some plastics from my local DSG and WalMart but as far as rods/reels, nobody around here sells JDM Shimanos and I can't afford to pay full price for rods from the local G-Loomis dealer.
  20. Loomis and JDM Shimano Power Pro for braid and Sunline or Seaguar for FC and Sunline for mono Gamakatsu for hooks Seibert Outdoors for jigs and Strike King, Zoom and Yum for plastics
  21. Hootie, I have thought about this myself many times and I can't come up with a good reason!
  22. Hootie, I do think he is looking for help. The man is in Portugal and unlike us, he doesn't have a Bass Pro Shops down the street that he can visit and handle every rod in the store. Buying an expensive rod that you can't hold is risky so I don't fault him for wanting to be as close to 100% sure of his purchase as he can be.
