  1. Bigfruits; I'll check those books out man. Thanks. Well, the ending is part of what makes the movie. As an old friend of mine says, 'it doesn't play by the rules'. Movies like 'The Departed' 'Fallen' are movies like this that don't have happy endings just like life. Sometimes good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. As for the title, here's a quote from Tommy Lee Jones' character (Ed Tom Bell): Ed Tom Bell: I was sheriff of this county when I was twenty-five years old. Hard to believe. My grandfather was a lawman; father too. Me and him was sheriffs at the same time; him up in Plano and me out here. I think he's pretty proud of that. I know I was. Some of the old time sheriffs never even wore a gun. A lotta folks find that hard to believe. Jim Scarborough'd never carry one; that's the younger Jim. Gaston Boykins wouldn't wear one up in Camanche County. I always liked to hear about the oldtimers. Never missed a chance to do so. You can't help but compare yourself against the oldtimers. Can't help but wonder how theyd've operated these times. There was this boy I sent to the 'lectric chair at Huntsville Hill here a while back. My arrest and my testimony. He killt a fourteen-year-old girl. Papers said it was a crime of passion but he told me there wasn't any passion to it. Told me that he'd been planning to kill somebody for about as long as he could remember. Said that if they turned him out he'd do it again. Said he knew he was going to hell. "Be there in about fifteen minutes". I don't know what to make of that. I sure don't. The crime you see now, it's hard to even take its measure. It's not that I'm afraid of it. I always knew you had to be willing to die to even do this job. But, I don't want to push my chips forward and go out and meet something I don't understand. A man would have to put his soul at hazard. He'd have to say, "O.K., I'll be part of this world."
  2. No Country For Old Men and it's not even close. Gran Torino was just okay. If that old guy (Eastwood) tried mouthing off like that in the hood, he'd be dead the first day. :
  3. 90+% of computer literate people (myself included) regard Norton as a high risk to your computer.
  4. While I'm sympathetic to their family's struggles, the guy stealing could have gotten a job and BOUGHT the meds instead. I know meds are expensive but so is the consequence of stealing.
  5. Good job tracking the jerk down. I hope they throw the book at her.
  6. What a slacker................................ She needs to pick up the pace.
  7. Years ago in the Atlanta police blotter posted in the paper a woman had reported someone broke into her hotel room and stolen HALF of her cocaine. ;D
  8. Interesting question with lots of different scenarios. I'd never shoot someone running away PERIOD. If they're in your home, they are a threat PERIOD. I'd never try restraining the person until the authorities get there. Too many variables and all you're doing is giving the guy an opportunity to disarm you. Also, if you do decide to use your gun, shoot to kill. This will ensure there is one side of the story; yours. If his family sues you after the fact, counter sue for attorney's fees + emotional suffering their relative put you through. As the saying goes "Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". And for those living in liberal states, move to the South where you can actually 'Stand your ground' and not have to find an escape route out of your home.
  9. Life is indeed strange. "Stevens had already survived one plane crash in his lifetime in December 1978 he walked away from a crash in Alaska that took the life of his first wife and four other passengers." http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0810/40881.html T & P out to his family.........
  10. I thought they caught him by following the trail his leaking colostomy bag left.
  11. Amen. As far as Pete C. goes; I'd take him as a headcoach 1,000,000 times more than half the ones out there already coaching in the NFL. And Lane Kiffen's antics will make USC fans BEG for Carroll back regardless of what's happened in the past.
  12. A little strongly worded but I'd have to say he nailed it.
  13. I agree with the get to shore comments but I would probably try to get to open shore instead of somewhere with trees.
  14. I love this show on TruTV and the guy in the story below is definitely going to make an appearance soon. 19 bags of mary j. wanna found on him at court. What a moron.... http://ap.times-herald.com/dynamic/stories/G/GA_MARIJUANA_COURT_GAOL-?SITE=GANEW&SECTION=STATE&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
  15. Where there's money , cheats are there. Yep. I've been in Church (yes Church) golf tourneys where members of the foursome I was in wanted to pull some shady things. Guys turning in 18 handicaps that haven't shot above 80 in decades. Cheats are everywhere when money is on the line. I'm with fourbizz; hang this S.O.B.
