  1. Hi guys - Glad you liked it! A headcam is a video camera which is typically mounted to a helmet for "action" sports. I made an adapter so that I could put it on my headlight strap. It sucks on hot days, but the top water footage is worth it! This one was made by a company called vholdr. the digital camera is an olympus 720sw (shock proof and water proof to 10ft) and has taken a beating over the last year. I fixed it to the shovel handle using a gorilla pod made by a company called joby.
  2. Hello everyone - I'm new here, but like everyone else fishing is a major part of my soul. I fish both salt and fresh water and try to capture the events as best as I can and make short movies for me to enjoy during the winter months. I recently made this one of (mostly) fly fishing for LMB with topwater flies and wanted to share with the community. I shot it alone with a headcam and rigged digital camera. It's set to music so let it preload and TURN IT UP!! I hope you like it and let me know what you think! Nicer Veoh Version
  3. ...and NASA will pay him with land on Mars to advertise it.
  4. I have a sense that when you're Tiger Woods you can have a bionic knee produced from material freshly shipped in from Mars that will self heal and protect him from cancer...forever.
  5. I chose "checking them out" also, but there's also nothing better than a big topwater hit in the lily pads to get the heart racing.
  6. Well, I'll fish the ocean into early december and certain other salt water areas all year, but something about ice fishing in the winter never stuck with me. I think it's the idea of not being quite as active, but since I've never tried it I should do it and then see if I don't like it...
  7. I've got a short movie I made which shows several of the fish from the lake, so once I get these ten posts I'll put it up... ...I've never tried fishing it in the winter, i'd rather use my imagination sitting by a fire.
  8. Sounds like a nice time...good job!
  9. the way it forms, gently, slowly, to the giant it becomes really makes a wave like that look and feel like a monster.
  10. Glad to be here! It's not a big lake, so the typical size is on the smaller side depending on what area of the lake you fish, but in the 1.5lbs range is the average. I don't bring a scale out with me, but the best I've done is maybe around 3.25-3.5lbs from there. -edit- actually, after looking at some the photos on the site with estimated weights, the best I've pulled from the lake is closer to 4.5lbs. I'm not very experienced at estimated weight so the figures could vary. Here's a link to a shot of a decent crappie from the end of last summer. If you think of it in typical largemouth to crappie size for a lake, this is an above average crappie for the lake, maybe that will give you a sense of the average largemouth. http: //i99.photobucket.com/albums/l289/plaurelli/crappie.jpg?t=1213899994 I'm not able to post links yet, so i just put two spaces after the http: above. Take the spaces out to see it...
  11. Agreed ^^ When I fish topwater it's mostly in around lily pads so I will often stick with it for longer, however. I get the sense if they're there, they're going to eat my hopping frog. If it doesn't get hit...they're not there and it's not the lures fault.
  12. The lake i fish most is pretty untouched and on a typical day you can pretty much catch as many as you want. The downside is that when I travel to other areas and get skunked (which is often) it stings that much more!
