  1. If I fish a buzzbait with a clacker and my partner fishes one without a clacker and I catch 5x more fish than him, wouldn't that prove that the clacker is effective? Not saying that happened, but just a scenerio that I can think of that seems to prove its effectivness.
  2. Lucky Craft cranks... I bought some and dont get me wrong, they were nice, but I actually caught more fish on my Bandit cranks, just gotta change out the hooks and save $10 per crank. ;D
  3. I use these Booyah buzz baits 90% of the time unless I want a more subtle approach, then I go to a 1/4 oz Cravitron.
  4. Just got back from the Bend. Here's how it went. Last Thursday-Sunday we caught over 800 bass between six guys, but couldn't find any size whatsoever. We were in the Best Six tourny and only managed 40lbs. We caught hundreds of small fish in 6ft. of water over submerged hydrilla on traps and senkos. Overall, a fun trip, just no big fish. Went back this Thursday-Saturday with the family. Caught a good mess of bream and found a school of Kentuckys out on a main lake hump at the mouth of Negreet. Saturday was the only day we really bass fished hard and we went to the Indian Mounds and cuaght 11, with our top five weighing 25lbs. Haha...thats the way it always goes for me. No fish in tourny, but big fish afterward or prefishing. We also missed one HUGE fish that we never saw on a crankbait. All fish were caught on points with scattered hydrilla in water that dropped from 3-20 foot of water on Bandit 200 series cranks.
  5. I heard it was kept over night and weighed the next day at 15.85 lbs so it goes in as number 2 in the books...
  6. I'll be headin up to the Bend THurday mornin and fishing thurs. fri., and fishing in the Best Six Sat. and Sun. Anybody got any report or info that may help me. All help is appreciated!!
  7. I fish there a decent amount for tourny's...I normally run up to St. Maurice area. I can always catch some in that oxbow where Saline bayou runs into it. Also, alot of people like the Montgomery oxbow. Crankbaits pretty much all day!
  8. A swimming jig can be hard to beat too!!
  9. I broke off on two fish with it already and this is my first year using it. I retie and spray religously, but it still becomes unmanagable and to easy to break. Will try something else next time
  10. Hey guys...sorry for all the inconveinance I caused you all. My buddy's water pump wasn't working on his motor that morning so we just trolled. Needless to say, that didn't work out too good with all the wind. We did manage to catch 4, 2 keepers that would have went 5lbs, but had to leave with a dying trolling battery and tired of being beat up by the wind. I wish I would have kept a phone number for one of yall to let you know what the deal was. On the other hand tho, it was neat to put a face to the names. I enjoyed meetin yall in the mornin and I would love to do it again, except we will use MY boat next time...haha!
  11. I actually caught a bass one time... That was REALLY weird for me!!
  12. I like to fish a Chartruse/white, but with more chartruse than white with a big single gold colorado blade for muddy water.
  13. Alright so... Meet at 5 a.m. at Harborlight. $25 pot with $10 big bass Weigh in at 3:00...where? Winner take all??
  14. Sounds good to me... Time?? And still 25$ per boat??
  15. I have a boat and a partner coming with me already. Sorry... Lets discuss morning meet up and weigh in stuff... I vote to meet up somewhere in the mornin, preferably early, pay our fees, then drive to whatever launch and meet back somewhere @ 3 or so for the weigh in...Hows that sound? And where yall want to meet??
  16. No doubt in my mind, Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad 5.5...
  17. Thanks for the congrats!! I was by myself with no camera :'( so no pics of the 8lb 14oz or the 6, but I definately went all out IKE when I caught em. I keep the 10lb 1oz to mount so pics will come as soon as I get a cord and figure out how to do it...haha And Dalton...no they didn't come from Saline. That would probably be the two biggest fish ever from Saline haha...they came from Sibley in Natchitous. Holla at me sometime and we can fish together.
  18. Sorry bout the lack of pics, but I released the 8lb 14oz and the 6lb but I do have pics with the 10lb 1oz so I will ty and post them this evening...
  19. Went fishing this past Saturday. First thing I found a creek that was 4ft. with 1ft. on the sides with flooded button woods, I caught three 2lb males in the button woods and a 6lb female on a cypress tree in the creek and a 8lb 14oz on another tree in the creek. Ran across the lake and found a cove with two cypress trees in it and idled in and saw a HUGE tail fanning by the first tree. It took two hours to get the fish to bite, but when it did I hooked it and got er in. 10lbs 1oz!!!! My new PB. Caught the two biggest bass of my life in the same day. 8lb 14oz and 10lb 1oz!! :D
  20. Wow... This lake is HOT!!! I heard of a 12.2 being caught two weeks age and this past Saturday I caught a 4, 6, 9, and 10!! My first double digit bass. Anyone else been fishing here?
  21. I'll be there with a partner...just waitin to see when and where we meetin up
  22. Catt, have you fished the Sam Migel Pass area...around all those flats between the islands? I fished it for about 30 min without a bite, but there must have been 40 boats in there last Friday. I may be going back Saturday, so looking for some productive water...if all else fails, I will be in Lanan once again!!
  23. And to think I threw I a trap half a day Friday... Gave up on it and caught all my fish on plastics and/or jigs Friday and Saturday. Not many, but a few.
  24. Any treble hook baits besides a 10+ft divinf crank!!
  25. I wish I had a good report, but... Fished Friday, 3 fish in the back of Hurricane Creek. Biggest 3.5lbs. Fished tourny Saturday, went back to the back of Hurricane Creek. I knew there were fish there. In the first 30 minutes I broke on 2 BIG fish and my partner pulled the hook out of a 6+. Guys pulled in right behind us, moved into 1ft of water in the thick buck brush and pulled out 5 3lbers. I stayed there the rest of the day in a hundred yard stretch and managed to catch 2 keepers that went 5.2lbs and one short fish. May go back next weekend. Cant wait for our meet up too...even tho I have no chance...haha ;D
