  1. Veritacal Jigging and C-Rigs... And I use to LOVE senkos, but now I just get bored with them...but they still catch fish.
  2. Jack was a great guy and alot of fun. I met him in person one day on Toledo Bend and boy, he could flat out fish. Also, we talked on the phone several times about different things. He will be missed on this forum for sure. Just goes to remind us that fishing isn't exactly the most important thing in life. My life was changed by a T-shirt that said "Life is short, do something". I will pray for Jack's family and more importantly those that are without Christ. I know the rules on posting religious views, but I feel as if I missed a golden opportunity in all the times that I spoke with Jack. I will not go into religious things here, but I will say that any of you can PM me regarding Christianity. I dont claim to know everything, in fact I know very little, but I want my love for God to be shown, even if it is through a computer screen.
  3. Yeah...spending "time" with your fiance/wife always puts you to sleep... ;D ;D ;D
  4. Find a new hobby... :-/
  5. I didn't expect them to rip me off. I have ordered from TW a bunch of times and have always been satisfied, but I had never order out of stock items before, so I wasn't if I needed to reorder when they got them back in stock or what.
  6. I figured that, but what was confusing was that on my bill it had the items listed that I ordered and was out of stock, but the price for these items were $0.00. I was confused if they just didnt charge me yet because I hadn't recieved the items or if they just weren't going to ship them at all.
  7. I know that there are already threads about ***, but I have a question about how they do business. I placed an order two weeks ago and some of the stuff on my order was not in stock. I recieved a package of items that they had in stock, so can I expect a 2nd package later on of the items that they didnt have in stock at the time?
  8. The 754 Glass Crankin rod from Powell is on sale at TW for $118!! Get it, you wont be disappointed.
  9. Seriously tho, MAYBE for bedding fish if you can see the bait in the water. Or another thought. This is like a blank canvas, you could color this tube however you wish.
  10. Personally I would fish them only on a waning moon, in slighty stained water, when the water temps run between 47-53 degrees, air temp of 62 degrees, and only between 7:07 a.m. through 9:32 a.m.... OR I wouldn't fish em at all...
  11. They always taste better fresh, or should I say, REALLY fresh. My buddy and I bring a grill with us duck hunting and grill up some ducks that we kill while we hunt. We normally kill a limit, grill up a few, then kill a few more to bring home a limit. BassFishinMagician...that local lake wouldn't happen to be Saline huh? I heard they were already startin to catch the slabs shallow, but thats hard to believe. How deep did yall catch them perch?
  12. Was P-Line CXX... This year Im using Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft because of the great deal I got on it. It is giving P-Line a run for its money so far.
  13. I've watched two shows so far and hopefully I wont have to watch three...He fishes in a small boat, if he even stays in the boat, and acts like an idiot. I like him as a person i guess, but his show STINKS...
  14. I ordered the 6lb and 15lb. Wanted some 12lb, but they were out. It came in in a week and I have now spooled the 6lb on my spinning reel and the 15lb on my spinnerbait setup, topwater setup, and trap setup. i am liking it so far. I have enough US in 6lb to respool my one spinning reel everyday.
  15. My first St. Croix rod was a Premier crankbait series and I was very impressed. For $40, you absolutly will not find a better rod. It competes with all other $100 rods on the market. It is probably my 2nd favorite $100 rod, right behind the Abu Verita.
  16. Well the money os on an Academy gift card, so it has to be a reel that they carry. I was looking at the Academy brand H2O Mettle. It has 10 ball bearings, feels decent in my hand, and seems to be pretty smooth. And the best part is, its only $50. But, the Orra SX seems pretty nice too. I appreciate the help. Does anyone know the drag lbs for the Orra or the Mettle?
  17. I got about $100 to spend on a new reel. I am looking into the Abu Orra SX, the Diawa Exceler, the new Pflueger Trion, the Shimano Caenen, and possibly ther Revo S or Shimano Citica. I know that I didnt narow it down much, but what yall think?
  18. The marker buoys are there, but you will still have to idle ALOT.. If you dont know where u are going, DO NOT run outside the buoys. There is usually one or two sets of buoys running into each creek. I have always caught fish in Dale Creek and last year we got on some that were spawing around the island at the mouth of Little Mustang. I caught a 9-14 there and watched a guide catch three overs, one went 13lbs. Many times the fish will spawn a little deeper, in say, 4-7 feet of water due to very high fishing pressure this time of the year.
  19. ABO has the winch on sale for $155...cant beat that!!
  20. The Rage Lobster and Craws are a great trailer for a jig, but IMHO I rather a beaver of some type, like a Yo Momma from Big Bite Baits for early in the year. The Rage products have too much action for cold weather jigging. Nothing in the water moves THAT much when the water temps are in the low 50's. Once the water warmes in to mid 60's tho, all i use is Rage craws for trailers. Also, your colors look great, should catch fish for sure!!
  21. I got the 7' M/F spinning version. Be advised, they are a bit more than they are rated. My M feels more like a MH to me.
  22. No doubt its a great fishery and a place that I visit yearly, but dont overlook oldgolf4's advice...the lake can get NASTY with just a 15mph wind. I have been in several situations out there where i wasn't sure if I was even going to make it out alive. Be prepared and keep updated with the weather. Just a hint...the back of Dale Creek is awesome during the spawn. Not many people fish it and it has some great places. If you want to catch alot of 3-7lb fish, fish between the grass and the bank in a foot of water or so with Rage Lobsters! For a big momma back out to the first break in the creek in 15ft with a V&M Flippin Jig Blck/Blue.
  23. Alright TBendBassin, I appreciate it. I took it out of my boat in September and hit it with some Line and lure and it has just been sitting in my extra bedroom waiting for Prespawn. I will give it a shot and see how it goes.
  24. I like the heavy line because I fish alot of thick stuff. I pitch ti cypress tress pretty much every trip and I fish alot of hydrilla, buckbrush, and laydowns with it.
