  1. Although I have not used these two specific units, I have used both brands with DS and SI and I personally prefer the Lowrance. To me, the Lowrance is just easier to operate.
  2. What he said...
  3. +Suffix Seige and P-Line CXX
  4. 15lb Invizx, 6'9" MH Castaway SLX3 (Senko rod), Pflueger President reel

  7. I found an ECU part # 824003 8, where as mine is 824003 1...would that part work or not?
  8. Ok I appreciate it. What do you mean by a lean spot between 5-5.3k RPM?
  9. Thanks for all your help... So the way I have it rigged around the ECU will not hurt anything? If the pump is constantly running, even with the VST, it will not hurt the motor?
  10. OK Im not very familiar with outboard motor parts, so what is the VST you are talking about? Also, the way I have it rigged right now with the pump constantly running will not hurt anything? My mechanic told me it isn't good and the pump has to be ran through the ECU.
  11. Im positive its the ECU. I have been researching a bit and have found many others with the same problem I am having. Without my ground going to the fuel pump, it will not turn on. Apparently, the ECU got loose and created an arch to the pin for the fuel pump and damaged it. Everything else runs fine and dandy, but a motor cant run without gas. If I buy an ECU off of another 95 200 hp Mariner EFI, wouldn't it work? ALso, would it hurt if I somehow went around the ECU for the fuel pump for good?
  12. I have got a 1995 Mariner Magnum 200 EFI motor that is giving me problems. The ECU is not sending a signal to my fuel pump to tell it when to turn on and off while the motor is running. My local mechanic told me it needed a brand new computer, which is $1800, but I was wondering if you guys knew which part this was. I found some Mariner ECUs on ebay for alot cheaper, but Im not sure if they will fit and also I am scared that they will not work. I ran a wire around the ECU to a swtich and to the fuel pump and I can get it to crank, but it is a pain to keep it running because I have to continously cut the switch on and off. Buying a new ECU is out of the question, the wife has made that clear >, but I am hoping someone knows of one taht I can get for cheap. Thanks!
  13. I'd say you win this thread. that's one big gator. Too bad you didn't video it, make a great commercial for Suffix. ;D Yup...I would have alot of good footage for a Suffix commercial. One time while fish Lake Fork I had a herron eat my chug bug and I didn't want to reel her in, so I let him take some drag and he flew into her nest in the top of a tree in the middle of Dale Creek. Apparently she was feeding her babies cuz when I finally jerked, the whole 20 ft. tree came down, along with the nest and I reeled in a baby herron. And that was with 12 lb Seige!! :-? Sorry I couln't resist... Perhaps "he" was the chug bug and "she" was the heron. Or vice versa. Haha...sorry I wrote it with all male pronouns, then thought about it, realized it had to be a her, and went back and changed em. I guess I missed a couple. :-/

  15. My buddy and I used to cut Zoom Centapedes in half, put them on a 3/0 weigthless hook and go to a 100 acre lake we own. The lake was full of grass and full of huge bullfrogs. We would cast the centapede on top of the grass and twitch it and a bullfrog would come hopping over and eat it. Set the hook and the battle was on, these things would take drag and everything. Anyways, one day my cousin hooked one and he was jumping on top of the grass and all of a sudden a HUGE splash around the frog and his reel started stripping line. He fought that thing for what seemed like an hour. Ended up being about a 9 foot gator. 65lb Suffix braid is some BAD stuff!!
  16. Nobody mentioned a Pflueger President or Patriarch...so i will. By the way, the President ($150) can be found on sale at Academy for $90 right now! 8-)
  17. Cypress trees with grass around it!
  18. I like to fish things a little different sometimes, but I think it is foolish to not throw a certain lure because too many people are fishing it. Most of you guys that call senkos "cheating" baits should think twice about that. I bet money that you have a jig in your box, or a crankbait, spinnerbait, big worm, frog, ect. All of these baits are "common" and everyone fishes em'. So if your goal is to fish something that no one fishes, you better start throwing that helicopter lure or banjo minnow ;D...And if you think senkos wont catch big fish, read the lunker club page in BassMaster magizine. Alot of those fish are caught on senkos. Now, that wasn't even the point of my thread. My thoughts were that some people thought that it was better to ALWAYS throw something different. If there is a tournament on Toledo Bend this weekend and the top five anglers catch their fish on Jigs, you would be blatenly ignorant to not at least try a jig. Now if the jig doesn't produce for you, then I beleive you can "change things up", but why not fish what has been proven in the past?
  19. I havent been to Toledo since late September, but I hear the water level is as low or lower than it was then. With all this low water, bass will definatly have to stage and spawn in different places than a normal year unless we get alot of rain for the next couple months. With that being said, my question is what will fish spawn by this spring in low water? I always catch spawners in the buckbrush and shallow grass and cypress trees, but these are all out of the equation this year. Will they spawn on deeper flats, deeper grass, just old stick ups or what? Of coarse this low water would come a year after I found some prime spawning grounds for those big females. I killed em last year, but am lost once again!
  20. 75 degrees, overcast, 4ft. of water, fishing a flat with grass patches.. 7' Powell 704C Glass rod Pflueger President reel Chug Bug or 80 degrees, sunny, 6 ft. of water, cypress trees 7' Powell 765 Flippin Stick Pflueger President reel 1/4 oz. Wtml/Red Rage Craw
  21. If only I had a dick...I mean dicks.:'(
  22. Finally!! Level 8!!
  23. I realize that many times fish become immune to certain baits, such as spinnerbaits, or techniques, such as fishing down a bank, but is it always better to go against the crowd. I mean, if the crowd is catch 10lb fish every cast on a senko, wouldn't you throw a senko? I try and do things different to show the bass something different, but also, you can't ignore the common things that works right?
