  1. Suffix Performance braid and 832...nuff said!
  2. I once scented up my crank with Yum Crawfish scent and I caught 5 fish to my partners 1 and we were using the same line and the same 200 series Bandit crank. Cant promise that the scent was the ticket, but it didnt hurt!
  3. The Pflueger President is now only $129. Thats a steal! For a rod...you cant go wrong with anything that says Powell or Dobyns on it. Just make sure you get a 3 or 4 power.
  4. 1. Rage Craw 2. 5" Senko 3. Zoom Ol' Monster 4. LFT Live Magic Shad 5. LFT Craw Tube 6. Zoom Babybrush hog 7. Zoom Trick Worm 8. Rage Toad
  5. Yeah, not a big fan...I got some for free and have yet to get a bite on em'. I wouldnt buy these. Ill stick to Zoom, Strike-King, Berkley, BBB, and LFT for my plastics.
  6. I will be up there Saturday fishing the Top 6 tournament. I havent fished the Bend in two weeks so hopefully my fish are still in Six Mile lol.
  7. Sorry guys but your wives may be great, but mine is THE best. She allows me to fish 3 days a week as I work the other 4. She doesn't complain, is pretty cheap, and does whatever she can to help me out with anything. I bought about 1k worth of tackle in January with no complaints and I have put over 1k in my motor (which is about to go back to the shop) with little complaints lol. P.S. I know this doesn't have to do with fishing, but I have to brag when I get the chance. She is actually in Haiti right now doing some mission work with our church. She is the only girl there. Shes a soldier and a hard worker, and I cant wait for her to come home this Saturday!!
  8. Another way to catch some giants on the grass line is to rig a carolina rig and instead of using a hook and plastic, use a floating swimbait. It will keep the bait in the strike zone for longer and allow you to slow down or speed up.
  9. I am a pretty avid crankbait fisherman come May-September and I never use snaps. The o rings on baits give the exact same action that a snap does. To me, the snap is just one more thing to go wrong.
  10. I've caught a few cats on cranks and spoons, but NEVER a buzzbait...wow.
  11. Pad beds are the best place to fish in my home lake right now...thanks for reminding us why.
  12. I fished Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday-went into Sandy Creek...man there were some BIG fish in there on beds, just couldn't get them to bite anything. I fished from 7:00-12:00 with little luck catching, but that was o.k. because I was just scouting for my tourny Saturday anywayz. After lunch, I backed off into about 6-8ft of water and started throwing a wacky worm and they ate it up. Dont know how many I caught in the last three hours, but it was a lot and a few decent (3-4lbs) fish. Friday-got to the lake about 4:00 p.m. and fished till dark in Mill Creek. Found a ton of spots and buck bass on wacky worms, but no mommas. Saturday-went back into Sandy Creek hoping to pull a big un or two for my tourny. I threw a wacky worm for a few hours with only 2 small weigh fish to show for it. I then picked up a Red Eye Shad (Orange Craw) and started throwing it when the storm hit. I was catching fish every five cast with that thing! I caught em in 10-15 FOW fishing the RES 3-4ft. deep. I couldn't find the big one consistantly though. I ended up weighing in 12lbs, good for 8th out of about 40 people. Man that weather got bad and COLD in a hurry! I had on shorts and a T-shirt. P.S. My boat wouldnt start on the way back so I had to get towed in. Im going back up Friday and Saturday with my dad, but he cant get off work until 12 Friday, so he wont be there until about 2-2:30ish. If anyone needs a fishing partner for Friday morning, Im off work and would love to fish! Just PM me and let me know!
  13. I have a 1995 2.5L 200hp Mariner EFI engine. A couple of weeks ago, my ECU went bad and my motor wouldn't start, so I sent it to Simon Motorsports in CA and he rebuilt it for me. I got it back Friday, put it on, and it cranked right up. Well, I had a tourny at Toledo Bend today, so I brought my boat up and ran it Friday. It took forever to start, it would smoke really bad, idle for a second, then die. It did that probably 20 times before it finally reved up good and then it stopped smoking and ran great for the rest of the day. Well, today, it did the same thing starting off...would idle for a second, smoke really bad, then die. Finally it reved up good and it sounded good and stopped smoking, so I figured it was just bad gas. I ran a few miles, then the alarm went off. My voltage meter would jump from 11v to 15v for just a second and all my boat lights would flash really bright for a second. I layed back down and it idled fine for a few minutes so I took off again, same thing, the alarm went of and voltage was jumping. I then idled to a cove to fish. I looked in the back of the boat and the red light was light on the system while the motor was running. What could this be? What does that light mean? Is it water in the gas? Or maybe my oil injection isn't working? But why the voltage jumps? P.S. It sucks to get towed back in 20mph NW wind in driving rain!
  14. My new favorite line of plastics... Hyper Freak=awesome Craw Tube=awesome Live Magic Shad=da bomb!!
  15. Also the Strike King Iguana is pretty neat...rig that thing with a 1/16 oz weight and it will SLOWLY sink right in front of them big mamas!!
  16. I have a Powell Max 704C and it is more sensitive than my ABU Verita and Vendetta, Shimano Compre and Crucial (not by much), all my BPS rods, my St. Croix Premiere, and my Allstar rods. It is about the same as my Shimano Cumera. I LOVE the Powell lineup and will be buying many more!
  17. Ive seen pros wear sponsorships on their shirts and boats, but man...this guy put it on his own body, for GOOD! Thats commitment with a touch of stupidity!
  18. I don't believe Scorcher ever said if he was using braid, or mono ? If braid, he doesn't need anything more sensitive, if mono, then sensitivity just went right out the window anyway. The sensitivity of a rod is about 5% or maybe less, of the rod / line combo. The sensitivity of the line is about 95% or a little more. And this is not just my personal opinion. This is the scientific fact of the matter. Fish I used to use a BPS Crankin stick to flip with until last year I broke down and bought a Powell 704C. Same line, same weight, same bait, except now I can feel the claws move on my rage craws. The difference between the two rods was unreal. Your 5% rod sensitivity claim is a matter of OPINION, not fact.
  19. If I could afford it...I would...great looking boat and plenty big enough to do whatever you want out of it. Heck, you could catch Tuna out of that thing!
  20. Hopefully he will in the near future...I would LOVE to read that one.
  21. Suffix Performance braid or 832
  22. All of my hooks are red...maybe the red paint helps??
  23. IMHO, you cant go wrong with any reel over $150...they are all quality reels and it comes down to personal preference. Now, after saying that, get the Pflueger President...its teh best ;D ;D ;D
  24. Im excited about all these GREAT reports. I will be up there next wednesday, friday, and saturday...so yall better catch em now because when I come, the whole lake will probably turn off lol.
  25. Over 100 years...probably...but for a week or so in between trips...I have not seen any effects.
