  1. Well, y’all shouldn’t have been there yesterday. It was tough. We caught 12 yesterday fishing until 12:30. The fish are on the move. Early morning there were fish and Shad in the lake, but by 11 they all vanished. Went into the creeks and found them about half way back.
  2. I caught 38 today in 20-28’ on dropshots and Crankbaits. Size is still hard to come by though for me.
  3. Fishing has been tough, but should get better with the cold fronts coming in this week. Friday we caught around 30, had maybe 13lbs with our top 5. 8-12’ was key. I did find a lot of crappie Friday and had a little over an hour to fish Saturday before heading back for my sons soccer game. We caught 25 BIG crappie in a hour Saturday morning off one pile on shiners and jigs.
  4. We fished yesterday from cypress bend down to housen. We caught a lot of fish, 40-50 but no size. Lots of small fish, but still better than not getting bit. The big fish have been elusive recently, but we will keep trying. Dropshot and Alabama rigs!
  5. If you’re coming to Rayburn, I can help. I guide out there. March is a fun time to fish! Let me know if I can help in any way. My name is Josh Sikes. 318-308-5818
  6. I haven’t talked to anyone shallow. I’d imagine there is a decent frog and squarebill bite though
  7. Fishing is slow, but big ones are finally moving in brush piles. You can catch some school fish in 18-22’ on points and ledges also.
  8. Hey guys, been a little bit since I’ve posted. We’ve been fishing the past few weeks. Fish are everywhere! We are finding HUGE schools of fish, but man are they ever hard to get to eat. We are catching 15-30 fish a day mainly on a dropshot in 10-28’ of water. Once we get a couple cold fronts, this fall is going to be one of the best we’ve had in a long time.
  9. The offshore bite has been tough this year due to high water. The water is finally below pool stage and the offshore bite is starting to pick up. They just aren’t out on summer stuff yet as they just began to move that direction.
  10. Think what you want, but I can assure you this is true. When you get on a huge school of feeding fish, it is very possible. When they are eating, we double up almost every cast on spoons. You can catch 50-100 fish a lot faster than you think.
  11. The fish are still there, they just moved because of the lack of grass. 2 weeks ago I had a 200 fish day and 2 100 fish days. In May we averaged probably 50-75 fish every trip. They are there, just have to look for them.
  12. The bite got real tough real quick. Just 2 weeks ago we were catching 100 fish a day. The past couple days though we struggled to catch 25-30 fish. Still seeing plenty of fish on the graphs, they just refuse to bite.
  13. Still catching large numbers of fish. We fished yesterday from 6-3 and boated 65 bass and 40 barfish. We caught some cranking, but the ol CRig produces the most bites. Look for mainlake points with baitfish in 18-23’.
  14. Whew, it’s been a little while since Ive posted up a report. Ive been on Toledo 2 or 3 days a week for the past month and we have absolutely been wrecking them. Our bad days have been in the 40’s and good days well into triple figures. We are finally on some better fish, still nothing huge, but a lot of solid 3-5lb fish. Our fish have been coming off of a dropshot, spoon, fb jig, and Crankbait in 18-23’ on main lake structure. Find bait and the basss aren’t far behind.
  15. Buy a different brand. I throw a Jewel around sparse cover and a VnM pacemaker fb jig in a lot of brush.
  16. Early morning they will be on top of ledges. Once it gets hot, a lot of fish suspend chasing bait, but your bigger fish will relate to brush. I like to fish brushpiles in 18-25’ next to creek swings.
  17. Not yet. These have all been on ledges. They should be moving into brushpiels soon though.
  18. We caught 42 yesterday and 90 today. Had 70 fish before 9 am. The lake is fishing great if you spend a little time idling looking for big schools. We caught fish on jigs, spoons, crigs, hair jigs, but all the big fish came on a crankbait. Had over 23lbs today I'm 15-20'.
  19. We’ve been at it every week. Caught about 70 one day last week and 50 another day. Today, the wind blew and we were stuck in housen. Couldn’t run around to get to all my fish, but we still managed to boat 47. The lake is fishing really good. If we would have had shiners I bet we could have caught 500 white perch also. Every brush pile was LOADED today
  20. I fished Thursday. We found lots of schools on the south end in 18-23’ of water. Caught fish almost every cast in 2 schools on Carolina rigs and drop shots. Boated way too many to count. The lake is on fire right now!
  21. I caught the. Good in housen last week, but never made it over there this week. We stayed in Pirates cove, six mile, and Mill
  22. Hey guys, the fishing is getting great on Toledo. Yesterday we boated over 50 and missed as many as we caught. We saw hundreds of fish on our electronics. The fish seemed to be in 18-28’ and we caught fish on dropshot, spoons, and Carolina rigs. The key was to get on top of the school and drop straight down on them. It’s fun watching the. Come eat your spoon on the graph. Nothing huge, but had 2 over 4lbs and 5 more over 3lbs. Lots of fun for sure. If anyone is interested, I still have May 17th and 24th open for now. Let me know if your wanting to get your units set up right and catch some fish.
