I've never tried duck jerky, but I do mix 50/50 duck with bacon and make a sausage. I put in some cheese, green onions, and jalepenos. Its great to grill in the duck blind! The 1st split is over now. It wont open back up until Dec. 10th so Im done for 2 weeks. I ended up killing 134 ducks in 6 hunts.

Duck is no where close to greasy...its a very dry meat. It is delicious fried, in a gumbo, wrapped in cream cheese, jalepeno, and bacon, baked, in gravy, ect. I dont buy any meat. All we eat is duck, deer, and fish.

Killed 18 more this morning. That makes 112 in less than a week!

I have 2 blinds right off of the right side of the canal and one between the canal and French fork. Sorry I havent called u for a hunt, but my dad doesnt have water yet either so Ive been taking him and my brother. But it sounds like yall have been bustin em pretty good. We killed 14 more yesterday and I went to a small cypress lake (Hog Lake) this morning and got 8 in like an hour and a half. I got a few good reports this morning from Catahoula tho so Ill be back out there tomorrow and probably Saturday. Good luck to yall...DROP DUCKS LIKE RAIN!!

Went again today...had a 4 man limit (24 ducks) on the water by 9:00. 9 Gadwalls, 5 Green-Wing Teal, 2 Blue-Wing Teal, 1 Woody, 3 Ring-Neck, 4 Spoonies.

I was set on buying the Dobyns 765 FLIP until the Recon series came out. I havent used one, but all the reviews on Tackletour forums say that they are top notch and $90 less than the Dobyns. Im probably ordering one Black Friday!

Well I made my first 2 hunts of the year. Saturday it took us 2 hours to kill our 5 man limit (30 ducks). We had a mix bag of mallards, pintails, gadwalls, a weigon, ring-necks, canvasback, scaup, and redheads. Went to church on Sunday and hunted again this morning. It took us 2 hours to kill a 3 man limit (18 ducks). Same type of mixed bag. There are ducks everywhere. Its been good so far for me thats for sure.

I have about 50 jigs and may have caught 25 jig fish. Now on the other hand, I have caught 1000's of bass on plastics. I find it hard to put down a rage craw to pick up a jig and get half the bites. I dont believe a bass will pass on a rage craw but eat a jig very often. If i put my plastic in front a big momma, I think she'll bite it just as fast as a jig. Plus, bass hold onto plastics longer. I caught my PB 10.1 on a plastic, not to mention all 8 of my other fish over 8lbs.

Im a huge Dobyns fan, but the Helium is a better rod than the Savvy. Now, I would probably choose a Champion over a Helium, just not the Savvy. The Savvy is a good rod, but for the $, you can buy a Cara, Powell, Helium, Phenix Recon(my next rod ), and a few others that are a better rod IMO.

If we kill good tomorrow I may call you for Monday. I may be by myself that day.

Haha funny you ask that question. I've thought about starting a guide service the past couple of years, but I havent pulled the trigger on it yet. I bring a lot of random people out there so I should start charging something instead of giving free hunts . I just enjoy watching others have a good hunt. Im actually taking the coordinator for DU this year. I met him at the ramp a couple weeks ago and he got my number to come and make a hunt this year. If anyone wants a hunt I'll be happy to take ya. Like Dalton said, a ton of pintails, good number of mallards, weigons, gadwalls, ringneck, teal, redheads, woodies, and canvasback. I read a DU study a few years ago that said 80% of the canvasback in north america can be found on Catahoula lake during December/January. Your limit of cans are pretty much a gimmie everyday.

Agreed! The 72' Dolphins RB got on my last nerve when the Pats ran the table. Im not a huge Pats fan, but I would root for anyone to run the table and win the Super Bowl just to shut up that guy. I gar-un-tee the Pats would have handed it to the 72 Dolphins! GO PACK!!!

Hopefully I will be a daddy in the near future. My wife and I are "trying" I guess you would say. I always said I wasnt going to have kids until I had the money, but then I figured out that I would never have the money so why wait . My wife and I are both 23, but my father in law is 64 so she wants one now so he (or she, but hopefully he) can know his grandpa.

Im going to give em a try. I like what Luck-E Strike is doing. Taking well known fish catchers and reproducing them for half the price. Even if it doesnt have the same action of a Mega, its only $7 down the drain.

I am putting them out Wednesday morning and they will stay on the lake for the entire season. I aint about to put out and pick up 600 deocys every trip . I have 4 MOJOs and 1 Mallard Machine too.

Even if LSU looses to Arkansas or Georgia, I think they deserve to be in the National Title. They have already beaten two of the teams in the hunt for the BCS Title (Bama and Oregon). I really believe that It will be a rematch between LSU vs. Bama. Its going to be a high scoring game too, at least compared to the last time these two met up . 17-13 LSU.
