  1. I'll be back up there Thursday-Sunday for the Best 6 tournament...cant wait, wish me luck!
  2. There will still be some fish on beds Indian Mounds south. Go shallow and look for bare spots in the grass and throw senkos or lizards in them. Also, swimming a swimbait can be deadly at times through that grass. I would also look at points pretty hard too, lots of big fish pull out on main lake points this time of year.
  3. Yea I heard of some big uns' on beds south. I caught 25 fish on the main lake, big fish was 5lbs. I could see a thousand of em on my graph, but could hardly get em to bite anything. I threw cranks, jigs, c-rigs, a-rigs at em but they only bit on a darn drop shot.
  4. Well good luck this weekend everybody! If you see a white/black/red Puma w/250 ProXS come by and say hello. Bryan J, Im not sure which cabin we are in as I didnt make the reservations, but its looking like we wont get in until late tonight. Wesley, where u gonna be? I plan on fishing Carrice area and then Slaughter some Saturday.
  5. Ill be at Wildwood this Friday/Saturday too! I plan on fishing midlake though. What cabin yall in?
  6. For T-rigs you will hard pressed to find a better rod than the Powell Endurance 714CEF. The Powell Max 704CEF is a great trig rod too! I also use a Phenix Recon 764 and it is a fine rod too, but I would lean towards the Powell strictly for t-rigs.
  7. Dont know about the 705 Deisal...but the Powell Endurance 714C is the most versital rod I own!
  8. Powell TW Exclusive Deep Crankin Rod is the bomb!
  9. Get some 4.5" Rattlesnakes in green pumpkin or Trophy hunter and throw it around stumps and pads in shallow water. Cuaght 30+ last year with 1 over the slot doing this in the spawn.
  10. Came in 2nd in my club tournament today with 16lbs. All fish caught slow rolling a spinnerbait in 2-6 fow with grass...points seemed to be the key.
  11. NICE!!! I actually just saw it on facebook lol. That thing will handle Toledo great! I know when I stepped up into my Puma/250 ProXS it made a HUGE difference on Toledo.
  12. I was on the lake Wednesday and Thursday, March 6 and 7th. Wednesday I went north to 1215 and caught 10 fish, top 5 weighed 19lbs. Thursday I went south, fished from Lowes to Housen. Caught 10 fish, but only managed 11lbs for my top 5. Most fish caught on a senko or spinnerbait, two baits I HATE to throw lol. I fished 20+ fow, 8-10 fow with grass, and the bank. ALL fish were on the bank. I figured that 8-10 fow with grass would be the ticket, but I guess I just couldnt find em.
  13. Yea the 23rd was brutal to most people is what Im hearing. I will be back March 6-8. Hope to fish midlake and 1215 area if the wind cooperates. If you see a white/red/black Puma w/250 ProXS come give me a holler!
  14. Hopefully your day was better than mine...fished all day, 6 fish, big fish about 4lbs. It was ALOT tougher than I thought it would be today, for me atleast.
  15. Best advice I can give on Toledo is to pick one section of the lake, like Lowes Creek to the bridge, and learn it. I spent 2 years ago in Six Mile and Housen Bay alone and I still am learning that place. THis past year I spent learning Slaughter and Carrice Creek...the fish are everywhere, you just have to spend the time to get to know the area you are in to catch em. The biggest mistake people make on the Toledo is fishing Six Mile one day, Lanan the next, and Solans the next day. Spend time in one area and you will learn how the fish relate to that area and then you'll start catching more and bigger fish! I live 2 hours from the lake, made about 15 trips up there last year and caught 8 fish over 7lbs in one area because I spent the year learning it. How did Upshaw fare in the Everstart? He came to Louisiana College with me in 06...I remember for the talent show he set up a bucket and flipped in it lol.
  16. Good luck Don!! Catch em!
  17. I went Monday. Drizzled rain all day and caught 15 fish. Top 5 woulda been about 16lbs. Caught most fish deep on a 3/4 oz football jig. Tried shallow but didnt do much.
  18. The D-Bomb is more durable yet has more action than the other beavers mentioned. I opt for the D-Bomb in most all situations I want a beaver style bait now.
  19. Just finishing up my new elctronics on my new boat and will be heading up there in a couple weeks!
  20. Not neccessarily. Its according to what boat you are mounting on and if you need the compact arm or the longer arm. I ordered a compact arm for mine a few weeks ago, but it doesnt fit where I thought it would so had to go back and order the longer arm. I have to mount mine on the inside of the wall in front of the throttle on my Puma because there is not enough space to mount beside the console. Figure out what will work best for you before you order and if you need the short arm, let me know, I have a brand new one I will get rid of lol
  21. I have that rod paired with a Curado 200B w/12lb Suffix Seige. It handles all my mid-depth cranking needs and does a great job!
  22. Missle D Bomb Rage Craw LFT Craw Tube Rage Hawg
  23. +1 on the Dobyns 705CB Glass fast
  24. Sounds like a heck of a plan to me!
  25. I have 4 Powells and just ordered 2 more. I have used just about every rod in the $100 - $200 range and a few in the $200 - $250 range and I feel the Powell Endurance and Phenix Recons are the best bang for the buck.
