  1. The 4 powered Dobyns aren’t ideal for frogging but it will work if need be. I don’t think you will be disappointed at all in a 734 Sierra. I have 2 of them.
  2. The big girls should be showing up soon. We caught 56 Friday on Arigs and a wing ding in 25-31’. With all the fresh water and cool temps I would imagine we are moving out of the fall and into the winter pattern now.
  3. Sunline is selling 18lb sniper in their website 2 18lb spools for $20 Waterlandco.com Black Friday 30% off with BENTRODS30 promo code. They make some really nice sunglasses

  5. 30% off at www.waterlandco.com when you use BENTRODS30
  6. I found the motherload yesterday on Toledo. I caught 93 mostly on an arig and C15 crankbait. The fish would move up in 22’ to feed then slide back off into a draw in 31’. There must have been 1000 of them down there. I also found quite a few other good schools and I’d catch 5 or 6 really quick then leave them. This is one of my favorite times of the year on Toledo!
  7. The warm weather the past week has got the water temp back up to almost 70 and the fish more scattered. We struggled a little Friday and Saturday but still managed to catch a few. Friday the bite picked up after lunch and we managed to catch 50 or so bass. Saturday we caught 24. Arigs and a Carolina rig caught the majority of our fish in 15-20’.
  8. I do not know if fish hear braid or not, but I throw and Alabama rig a lot and have one rigged on braid and one with 25lb floro. The floro our fishes the braid 100% of the time. And that’s a rig with metal wires everywhere so you’d think the “invisible” traits of floro would be negated by it.
  9. I don’t know what is happening but it is fishing very different than normal. We are finding a lot of fish offshore and catching plenty of fish, but it is almost impossible to catch anything over 3lbs. Usually the fall bite is some of the best for numbers and size, but this year there is hardly any size at all. If I go looking for size, I may only get 2-3 bites all day.
  10. The lake is on fire right now! The past few weeks we’ve been averaging 50-100 fish a trip fishing offshore ledges, points, and hard spots. They are eating almost anything you throw at them right now.
  11. Fluke, lizard, and baby brush hog
  12. The water temp dropped to 76 yesterday so I’d say it’s going to happen really soon. As for fishing, if you like to eat spotted bass, yesterday was the day to be out there. The spots took over everything I stopped on. Between my morning and afternoon, we probably caught 60 of them. We caught a few largemouths mixed in, but not many. Couldn’t keep the bait away from spots. The good news is we didn’t have to finesse fish to get bit. They were eating a 10xd, Bama rig, and football jig.
  13. From what I’ve seen, the LA buoys are in decent shape. They’ve even put new boat lanes up the past month that weren’t previously there. Texas buoys are moves around some and a few are missing still. The fishing is getting better every week right now. Schools are starting to show back up and fish are chasing Shad. This next month or two should be a lot of fun.
  14. I hardly every tournament fish anymore. I pretty much only guide now. But I appreciate the support . ive never been to Kurth, but I’ve heard lots about it. I know I miss that green grass on Toledo!
  15. I wish I was, but unfortunately I’m not. My guess is 19lbs a day wins and 13.5lbs gets paid. The winner will more than likely have to be versatile and catch fish shallow and deep.
  16. Both, but main lake drains can be REALLY good if you find one full of Shad!
  17. You won’t see a Shad spawn in October. It takes place is May. In October expect the fish to be running large groups of Shad into drains and gorging in them. It’s a great time to be on the lake.
  18. Better get hunkered down. It’s going to be a long night. Praying for safety for all my BR friends.
  19. Rayburn has been better all year, but they are still swimming in Toledo ? Im just glad to see a few schools again. It got really tough in June and July
  20. Thanks man, glad y’all enjoyed it. Hopefully it helps you find and catch more fish! As for a report, the bite was really good the last week. Numbers shot up to about 30-35 fish a day and some really nice fish mixed in. Big crankbaits and a big worm did most of the damage for us in 18’.
  21. The fishing on Toledo is getting tough. The fish are suspended chasing bait so it’s hard to stay on top of them. We are still catching a few good fish, but numbers are down. On Rayburn we are catching good numbers. 50-100 fish a day is still pretty normal for us over there.
  22. We go through setting for both units. Thanks man. That was a good time!
  23. Hey guys, wanted to let y’all know that on July 24th from 2-8 pm I will be hosting an electronics seminar at Cypress Bend Resort. Cost is $180 and that covers your dinner and the seminar. We will go in depth on settings, mapping, graphing, image interpretation, seasonal patterns, fishing techniques, and tournament strategies. Let me know if you’d like to come. Josh Sikes
  24. The bass bite has gotten tough on the south end of Toledo. But at least you found a lot of fish and had a good time! Learning that spoon will help you tremendously. I always have one tied on and ready to drop. I fished Tuesday and Friday morning on Rayburn and evening on Toledo. Rayburn is still fishing really well, but Toledo is getting tough again. We did manage to find some big fish, but just not many bites. Tuesday evening we caught 15 and had a 7, 5, and 4. Friday evening we had a 5.5, 4.5, and 2 more 4’s. Drop shots and 6xds caught most all of our fish.
  25. Your actually closer to tackle addict on Rayburn than Toledo tackle and tackle addict is 1000x better. It’s like a brick and mortar tackle warehouse.
