  1. I agree Catt. Late May is one of my favorite times on the Bend! Fish are just moving deep and haven't been pressured hard. A lot less boats on the lake and big ones willing to bite.
  2. I'm a big fan of a heavy jig. 3/4-1.5 oz is what I throw most often, even in shallow water
  3. I'm a big fan of the big bite baits war mouth for bed fishing along with a dropshot. Alternate between the two and you can get most fish that are locked on the eat one or the other.
  4. Awesome Shannon! I may go up there Tuesday to check out some beds.
  5. Fish are on beds! Buddy of mine caught a 10lb 13oz off a bed Friday.
  6. Congrats guys! Sure wish I could be there! And it's not a real trip to Toledo without spending $100 at Toledo tackle lol. Is everyone heading out today?
  7. I'm not a dobyns fanboy, but the champion series cranking rods are the real deal! 765 or 805 would be perfect for you.
  8. Yea I hate I missed y'all. If the weather breaks, straight across the lake is pirates cove. The water in ere is very clean and the two big coves on your right going in have a lot of beds. You have to position your boat between the hay grass on the buck brush to see em, but they are there. Most fish weren't locked on yesterday, but we saw some giants cruising. Maybe they'll be locked on now and y'all can catch em!
  9. I was out there today, sure wish I would have had time to meet up with everyone, but I had to leave to get back to a meeting this afternoon. Seems like big head had a lot better day than me! Congrats on a great fish man! Sight fishing I'm guessing? I couldn't get bit deep today I guess because of the current running through the lake. Caught 4 fish sight fishing and that was it. Saw a couple good ones, one about 7lbs and one well over 10lbs, but neither ever locked on a bed.
  10. I'll be back on Rayburn April 2 and 3rd for the basscat owners tournament. Can't wait to try and sight fish out there!
  11. Haha, I need every ounce I can get. I have struggled out there for the most part this year. Hopefully that changes this week. I would love to put someone on some good fish!
  12. Yep. Caught a 9lber yesterday sight fishing
  13. So it seems, Chris, Bert, and jerry will be there for sure through the weekend. Felix, you still in? I'll be there Friday only it seems. Y'all wanna do a bragging rights tournament Friday? That way we can at least show off our fish to one another at "weigh in".
  14. Its looking like I will have to just make a day trip. I have a meeting Friday night at 6 that I have to be at. I will more than likely drive up Friday morning, meet anyone that wants yo hop in the boat and fish until 3 or so then have to head home. If someone wants to fish with me Friday, give me a holler.
  15. The guy at six mile is awesome! He took time to teach me what to look for for certain problems and walked me through my whole motor! Chris, good luck tomorrow! It should be on!
  16. It's not taste or shooter, but it's the best mid-level floro on the market IMO
  17. I do it all, but if I had my choice, I'd rather be in 25ft with a fb jig, 10xd, and arig!
  18. Nope, housen is a little more stained than I like. I stayed around mill and buck creek.
  19. If I were going in April, I'd stay in buck and mill creek and sight fish!
  20. Was hoping to do some sight fishing, but the weather is calling for rain. I was on some big fish Friday, so hopefully I can get someone on em. Had 3 fish over 7lbs come off one spot Friday and Saturday. Had a few others over 5lbs running the same pattern. The fishing shut off Saturday with all the boats, so Wednesday-Friday should be y'all's best days!
  21. Awesome fish Shaneus! I struggled had yesterday. I was one some good fish, after catching that 4 and 5lber in the first 15 minutes I figured I was gonna have an easy 25lbs. I was WRONG lol!
  22. I fished south today. There were more boats on the water today than the macdonalds tournament. I caught a 4 and my dad caught a 5 in the first 15 minutes and then it shut off. I caught one more 3lber and had 2 fish for 7lbs. Sadly, I came in 8th out of 39 guys with that. It is tough right now everywhere.
  23. I'm up here now. Water rose 1ft since yesterday. It is muddy in the back of everything! The only clean water is at the mouths of a few creeks. Fish are hard to get on right now, but when you find em, you can catch some good ones. I had over 20lbs today and my buddy had 2 over 7lbs with me. Saw a 11.5lber caught in the same area too! Tournament in the morning, hoping it holds up.
  24. I use a 2oz weight a lot for thick stuff around here, but never even seen a 6oz! 6oz tungsten must costs $100 a weight lol!
