  1. Try navionics web app
  2. That why any smart fisherman will use all lines for different applications. I have braid on my frog rod, punching rod, swimjig rod, and Alabama rig rod. Mono in my top water rod. CXX on my spinnerbait rod, squarebill rod, and less rod. Floro on my mod depth crank rod, 3 deep diving crank rods, jig rod, trig rod, Crig rod, shaky head rod, and a few mutli purpose rods. I like floro, but I know it's not the perfect line for all situations.
  3. 4/0 Trokar flipping hook
  4. Magnum trick worm on a 1/2oz shaky head 10xd 12" worm 3/4oz fb jig
  5. Most of my fish that I catch pitching hits it on the initial fall. Floro gives me much better sensitivity on the fall than any other type of line. I'll stick to floro
  6. I use 25lb sniper for pitching. It handles great!
  7. Awesome weekend jcdogfish! I could have used the 7lber lol. Sounds like you've found a spot on a spot. Most of the time spots like that just continue to replenish and you can catch fish on it for years to come.
  8. Well guys, got back from fishing the Best 6 on Toledo last night. Had a rough practice on Thursday and Friday. Couldnt find anything over 3lbs deep or shallow on the south end but were still confident the big bite would come from the south end of the lake. We sent a team shallow flipping to catch some 3lb fish and my partner and I went deep looking for a big bite. Around noon, my boat only had one fish over 3lbs in it so we decided to run north for the last 3 hours and fish ledges and it payed off. Pulled up to a ledge and caught 4 fish over 3lbs and lost one over 4lbs. Scrapped up a 36.24lb limit on day one. Day two I decided to go blind and look for a frog bite early around midlake then ledge fish the rest of the day. We caught alot of fish on frogs including two 4lbers and three 3lbers. Then we went looking deep once again. About noon I pulled up to some piles and immediately caught a 3lber. Then my partner caught a 7lber on the next cast and as he was getting her out of the net I flipped another 3lber in the boat. Weigh in was at 2 on Sunday, so we didnt have long. I decided to leave and go back to a point we broke off on a fish over 4lbs and let the piles rest for 15 minutes. When we got back on the piles we had 30 minutes left to fish and we caught a 3lber and then I hooked into one of the biggest fish Ive ever hooked. I couldnt turn her head and could just feel her shaking her head down in 25 ft of water. She ended up spitting it and broke my heart. I have no doubt she was 8+ possible over 10. Got to the weigh in and our other boat had just dropped one over 7lbs in the last 10 minutes too. Ended up jumping up to 3rd place, just could get the winning fish in the boat. All in all it was a great weekend considering Thursday and Friday we were on absolutely nothing! Wishing I could fish Basschamps this coming Saturday as Im pretty confident I could catch 25-30lbs out of a few brushpiles, but looking like Im going to have to work so Ill have to save one big one for the Macdonald's in two weeks.
  9. I've thrown santone jigs. Good jigs IMO
  10. Got both and hey are both great rods. I like the Irod Bama rig rod over the Powell Bama rig rod, but prefer Powell overall. The 723, 714, and 775 are sweet!
  11. Sounds like y'all had a good trip. Most fish are done spawning, but with the full moon is weekend there should be a few stragglers moving up. I'll be there Thursday-Saturday staying at bridge bay. Will more than likely be fishing housen down to buck most days.
  12. Best hooks...worst bait keepers
  13. Big mommas seafood is great! It close to Paulo goachu
  14. Good report ToledoGold! Sounds like a fun day. And the spawn is not over yet. We are on the tail end of it, but there are still fish moving up down south.
  15. I have the Irod genesis II "Bama rig special" and it's perfect. You really need something that can handle 2-4oz but has a parabolic bend to it. Any good swim bait rod will work.
  16. Bobber stoppers or just a rubber weight peg. You simply thread it through the weight and cut off the excess. They are cheap, easy, and work!
  17. That's the first time I've seen a beaver rigged like that. Looks like beavers dominated Rayburn
  18. Thanks. I plan on fishing mill, buck, and Indian.
  19. I'm heading up to fish tomorrow. I'll have 3 kids from my church with me. Hoping to let them see a lot of fish on beds and get lucky and find one big female!
  20. I throw a football jig on 16lb sniper and have never had a problem. I throw em on a powell 714. Reel down to em and sweep the rod to the side, almost like a Carolina rig hook set.
  21. Well, just got back from the basscat owners invitational. Didn't do so well. Had 3 fish for 10lbs on day one with a 7.02lb big fish. Got a good check for big bass day one. Figured I needed 25lbs+ to have a chance of coming back to win on day 2 so I stayed 15-32ft deep all day and only managed 1 fish. The fish have spawned out already, but apparently haven't made the move deep just yet. The water is super high and most fish caught in the tournament was caught in the flooded pine trees. Seemed like the bigger fish were a little deeper (still shallow IMO) from about 6-8ft.
  22. Fish should be flooding the banks as we speak! The full moon is Thursday and I believe this will be the biggest wave to move up all year!
  23. I'll be on Rayburn for the BCB owners this Thursday and Friday. Haven't been out there in awhile. I know the water is way up, I'd appreciate any help anybody can offer as I won't get to prefish at all. Going blind and hoping to get lucky!
  24. I own a phenix recon 764. It's 7'6" mh/f but has more of a mf tip IMO. It's a sweet Carolina rig rod. Also, kistler makes a 7'6" H/MF KLX rod you could look at.
