I've been using 6lb on my spinning setups for a few years now and really like it! It's cheap, strong and casts awesome.
I recently tried 10lb on a crankbait setup (baitcaster) after seeing tons of recommendations. I'm actually a little disappointed in it, very poor memory even with using KVD L&L.
I own several Avids and Avid X's in both casting and spinning but I'm going to have to disagree with you.
My topwater setup is a Mojo Bass and I think it's well worth the price! It's an awesome rod.
Yes, thanks but I'm well aware of the comparable models across some other manufacturers. I was asking for his personal opinion on better rods $3-500.
I've owned or fished Loomis GLX, NRX's, and a few Legend X's. Out of all listed, the only ones I still own are my NRX's. I'm on the fence on the Conquest because I much prefer split grip rods over full cork handles. I almost bought an Xtasy casting rod during the sale but backed out because of the full cork.
I've got a Sierra 692s paired with a Nasci 1000 that is my ned rig specific setup. I really enjoy it.
For the price I think the Sierra line is a steal! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Ok, so you named one, the Poison Adrena. Wish I could find one in stock, I'd probably buy one.
What are the others? I'm not trying to stir up anything, but really interested in your opinion of the the multiple $3-500 rods that feel, cast and perform as well or better.
So just wanted to update this thread. I've gotten bit by the swimbait bug and overspent my previous $100 limit. Here's what I've acquired since making this post back in April. Still waiting on my backordered S waver 168 lite trout. I think this should keep me busy for a while. I was really lucky to grab the Gill glide and the WCZ battle shad as both sold out in minutes of dropping.

Just getting into the big bait game and here is the haul from the past month. I got lucky on the Bucca glide and WCZ battle shad drops and was able to score. They both sold out within minutes. Now I just need to get out and fish them.

I have a couple on my finesse and ned rig setups. You can't go wrong for $150.
I don't even need one but will more than likely buy a couple just for backups at that price.
Following because I'm in the same boat as my 853c NRX is way underpowered IMO for even a 3/8 oz jig plus trailer.
I was contemplating grabbing an 873CRR but have my doubts it will be enough rod for heavier jigs in medium to heavy cover.
