  1. You're going to get a lot of different answers, been quite a few threads like this. Quite a few out there on the market that are pretty good quality for that price. I'd say Dobyns Fury, Tatula XT, or find a deal on a St. Croix Mojo Bass.
  2. Kind of agree, although I'll be honest, I went the SO route to get free shipping. Still helps Gary, win win. ?
  3. No, only other online retailer was SO. Reason I know that is here, another forum and because some people were unhappy about SO offering the sale on the Dobyns FB group. Dobyns was charging shipping and several people were complaining. Not of the shipping but because the sale was originally supposed to be only for members of the FB group. It obviously got leaked elsewhere and I guess SO followed suit putting theirs on sale. Fortunately if you missed them on SO I believe Dobyns is doing it direct until the 6th. Just give them a call although I think most popular models are long sold out. Whoever got in on either sale scored big time! Glad it's helping Gary out in times like this.
  4. Yes SO is drop shipping from Dobyns.
  5. Dang, 10 years old with a Curado K, lucky kid. I have about 5 or 6 Curado K's in all ratios, wouldn't trade any for a Tatula. (Yes I do own a few Tatulas for comparison)
  6. I only really use the Ned in the creek I kayak fish.
  7. Dang, yeah I ordered it Friday but still haven't seen a confirmation. I know the promo is over and they were supposedly drop shipping them straight from Dobyns. Hopefully my order goes through.
  8. Oh, I completely understand what's going on too. Did you get a confirmation email from Sportsmans Outfitters direct?
  9. Yes, I did but still haven't received an email confirmation from them, only a Paypal receipt. Hope the order goes through. Here's a good thread to read with a bunch of guys using the 795. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/223497-big-swimbait-beginner-questions/?tab=comments#comment-2524081
  10. I've got one on the way too and have never thrown a hard body swimbait in all my years of fishing. I'm excited to try it out.
  11. Not on FB, I got this from Sportsmans outfitters, hence the free shipping. They have the same deal, supposedly drop shipped from Dobyns. It's my first time ordering from them but all looks good from what I've seen in this thread.
  12. Strike King and 6th Sense are at the top for me.
  13. Got a 795SB rod for $78 shipped. Can't beat that deal. I was going to get another Sierra 734c but they're sold out. Dang
  14. I'd say in Ohio, especially up north I would say 7lb or bigger would be a "trophy".
  15. Does the girl in the pic come with the Hobie? I wanted to get the yak out today but working from home and didn't get enough done to sneak away. I have time to do it tomorrow but of course it's back to rain. Today was perfect weather here in KY, got up to 73.
  16. Just tried, it doesn't work for me.
  17. Gotcha, I'm in Lexington too so just curious.
  18. Best I've tried is 6th sense stoppers.
  19. Not saying that at all bud, I'm sure it's a gorgeous combo. My Dad is a huge fan of red too and we used to tow a red Ranger with his Red Silverado SS. I'm just saying I see soooo much more red/maroon colors on the used boats in my price range.
  20. Nice, haha. Did you have any luck on a jerk today? Where'd you fish? I wish I would have gone today.
  21. While I love fishing smaller waters with my kayak I still miss having a bass boat. So I've recently been in the market for another used bass boat. Now, I don't know with all that is going on. The Governor of KY just had a press conference ordering all non-essential retail businesses to close by tomorrow at 8pm. That puts my job in jeopardy so that bass boat is on hold now. d**n Corona. Anyways, why is red and maroon so prominent on bass boat color schemes? I'm picky and just don't like red on most vehicles so a red bass boat is out of the question. Everything I liked and found within my price range has been red, ugh. EDIT: No offense to anyone out there with a red boat, haha. I see some absolutely gorgeous boats in red, especially this Bullet I've got my eye on, just might have a red boat after all. One of the several foxbody Mustangs years ago was beautiful and fast, but the "porno" red interior eventually made me sell it, haha. Toooo much red going on there. Unfortunately a lot of the Red Boats I see in my price range I could honestly get by with the exterior but most also have red carpet and seats.
  22. Dobyns 682s Sierra, Nasci 1000 spooled with 6# Yo-zuri hybrid. It is my ned rig specific setup and so far handles them awesome.
  23. Don't get me wrong, Megabass Vision 110 has the best color selection for jerks out there. But......I've been disappointed because the last two I had broke off the bill waaayyyy too easy. For that reason I've kind of quit throwing jerkbaits. My jerkbait rod has been collecting dust for a couple years, lol. Maybe I need to give them another shot but to spend $25 on a jerkbait and have it break so easy is kind of a bummer.
  24. Really wish they had used LH retrieves in stock, that's an awesome deal. I have a few of the original SLX but would love to try the XT.
