  1. I swim my Chatter Baits and they work fine.
  2. You still didnt tell us WHY he jumped in the water! :-/
  3. Give CT Fish and Game a call. They might be able to steer you in the right direction. You might need to get a permit to stock the lake as well.
  4. Ive been fishing Duhernal Lake in Old Bridge, and two reservoirs off of the lake, and have been getting SKUNKED! :'( Ive pretty much only been using plastic worms. Seems I cant really use and other type of lure because there are weeds EVERYWHERE in these bodies of water. The plastic worms work great in the summer, but I havent been getting anything with them lately. Any suggestions?
  5. I dont know if there is really a "good" time of day for carp. Ive caught them everywhere from 4am to 11pm. You have to be patient with these fish as well. I will sometimes sit for 8 hours before I get a hit. Carp are one of the most trickiest fish to catch imo. Corn works just fine. I also make a homemade oatmeal bait that is killer. Be sure to use a sliding sinker if you are fishing on the bottom. Alot of times the carp will notice the weight of the setup right away, and spit it out. Also, wait until your pole gets SLAAAMED before you set the hook. If you are getting some decent looking hits, WAIT. Sometimes the pole will bounce pretty good for 10 or 15 seconds, and then WAM! Be sure to set your drag nice and loose, because when they take the bait and run, they go full steam. GOOD LUCK!!
  6. Went out a few weeks ago, still A LOT of ice. Found a clear spot, but no luck. Hopefully the warm weath comes and STAYS soon. Im itching for my first bass of 09.

  8. Anyone ever use the fish finders that goes on a line and has a display on your wrist like a watch? Im curious to know how well they perform. I Fish from shore most of the time, and sometimes on my kayak. I think this would be a great thing to have if it works. Hopefully someone has used it!!
  9. Ok. No more grounding fish..^^ Take it easy there tiger.
  10. Nice bass bro. Looks about 4.5 pounds.
  11. Thanks guys. The fish was only laying on the ground for a few seconds. Placed it down, snapped a pic, then back in the water.
  12. I assure you this fish is over 5 lbs. The picture doesnt do it much justice because I was by myself with a cell phone haha.
  13. Got this one yesterday on a 10" Powerworm. Of course I was waiting for a friend to show up with my scale. > Any guesses on weight??
  14. 10" Powerworm motor oil color with an 1/8oz bullet. Weightless in heavy cover. Also 7" powerworms. Blue with blue flake, bright green with silver flake are great.
  15. A bass an hour? Thats pretty nice man. You aint doin anything wrong as far as Im concerned. Sometime I dont get a bass a week!! :-[
  16. Looking like a 2lb er my man.Berkley digital scale is pretty cheap!!
  17. I have the "nibble" problem as well. It's usually small fish. My senkos are ALWAYS getting nailed by sunnies and pumpkinseeds
  18. Yeah but I'd rather get bit by a snapping turtle with waders on atleast haha
  19. water is from 2" to 2 1/2 ft from shore to about 40-50 ft out. (atleast)
  20. It's all about the same depth all the way around. The spot is actually a resevoir..I know it's pretty deep in the middle, but havent been able to get my kayak out due to driver's license issues. :'( Maybe I'll get some waders like the other guy lol. He caught a few!!
  21. My hand is all torn up from those d**n teeth. Bass bit me pretty hard the other day removing a hook. I was VERY suprised.
  22. I havent been catching too many bass this season. ( one LMB a day is great. ) I have only been able to fish from shore.. I know there are plenty of bass in this water and plenty BIG bass at that. I see alot of movement/ jumps very far out. I didnt realize how far out the water stayed shallow there until I saw a guy yesterday in waders walk about 40 feet out!! Is all this shallow water the reason why my bass count Isnt high?? I know the tackle Isnt the problem because I've caught bass there on almost everything in my box. :-/
  23. I think some bass do smack into their prey to stun them..I've heard that too..not exactly sure..we'll wait for RW to clarify haha.
  24. I think that fish might be a Buff as well.
  25. Stay away from the eels haha. They're terrible. I've never seen em' hit a plastic either, but they WILL hit anything a catfish will. They are SUPER slimy and twist up your line. They also have very sharp teeth. Put it this way..I get MAD when I pull an eel up. Go for the carp man, they're an incredible fight. EELS=
