  1. Welcome! I just joined yesterday myself and the people here have made me feel right at home. I am sure in just hours you will feel the same. Mike
  2. Wow! Thanks for all the welcomes! I feel right at home! I'll be posting some questions on a lot of old lures I have acquired and a lot of questions on rebuilding my new bass boat very soon. But unfortunately I have a funeral to go to tomorrow...So it will have to wait a day or two...But on a good note I will probably take the boat out to an electric only lake this weekend and give you guys a report on it. Again thanks to all of you. I am very happy to have found this site! Mike
  3. Thanks roadwarrior! Man that pic of those two smallies makes me drool! I grew-up in Bellevue TN and fished the Harpeth river most everyday in the summer with permitting weather. My personal best came out of it. A 4 1/2 pound smallie on a 6" Strawberry Mann's Jelly Worm. Man what a fight! But those things your holding are MONSTERS! Where and how did ya get such fish? I must know! Mike

  5. Not really far from Paris, two counties west of me. Paris is right below Land Between the Lakes National Park on KY Lake. As far as information goes this seems to be the place to be. I have been lurking here for the past few weeks reading. What a GREAT forum! Mike

  7. This is what I have been doing the last few weeks. I have caught many but nothing over a pound and a half. The last time I was out I was doing this on a hot day at the local lake, again caught a few small ones. We headed for the dock for a small break and I was watching these two guys throwing crankbaits in about 10 foot of water right out in the open. I saw one catch a 3 1/2 pounder and not 2 minutes latere the other caught a 5 pounder! I then went over the area after they left it with my fish finder. I saw no structure or chanels. So ya just never know! I hope to go back this week and give the crankbaits a shot there. I'll let ya know how it worked. Also if ya can get around a dock and toss some plastic at it your bound to catch one hide'n up under there.. Good luck and let us know what worked for ya. Mike
  8. Hey guys/gals! This is my first post of many I hope. My name is Mike and I live in Dickson,TN. I have been fishing all my life and I go whenever I get the chance. Just bought an old 1979 Terry Bass Boss 16Pro that has been pretty much gutted. And only has a bow mount trolling motor and a fish finder I have been taking out to Motgomery Bell state park. (caught a few small ones and lost a 4lber in the past 2 weeks.) I need to refloor it and put in a console and controls as soon as I find a cheap motor. I hope to post the whole project here and get some input on it. Don't know alot about boats although we seemed to always have one when I was a kid. This is only the second one I have owned personaly. Anyways I look foward to talking with you all about Bass fishing and maybe meeting some of the locals here! Keep your lines wet and livewells full! Mike
