  1. Has anyone ever had problems with the Airrus Traditions spinning rods? I have had 2 break at the tip, while flipping weeds off a 1/8oz. bait. This shouldn't happen in my opinion on a fairly expensive rod. Any opinions?
  2. J Francho, I agree as well. I use fluorocarbon mainly for the feel. I was never a big fan of braid, so the closest thing on sensitivity is fluoro. But from what I understand about making line, once you add something to make it a UV or hi-vis line, it takes some other type of cystal or coloring. May add more stretch, knock down some of the abrasion...I dont know. I'll still try it out though, I do a lot of stream fishing in my part of PA, and sometimes I like a 6lb hi-vis line. I just hate using fluorescent mono's.
  3. I am curious how it works too. I feel that if you added different crystals to the fluorocarbon to make it a fluorescent line, you would take away from some of the intended properties of a fluoro (invisibility, low stretch, sensitivity etc.).....this meaning it will shine under UV lights.....to me a hi-vis fluoro contradicts iteself......
  4. I saw some release on a some new lines.... hi-seas Quattro Fluorocarbon line, a 4 color camoflagued fluoro. I've used both their fluorocarbon, and the original Quattro line when I go out in saltwater (this line is all over NJ for offshore stuff). It looks really interesting! Berkely is putting out a line like the Vanish transition too...transoptic or something. It looks like the same thing as the vanish, only in a Trilene version. I'd really like to see Shimano and Daiwa put out some of these japanese versions. I was lucky enough to go to Australia last summer, and there are some CRAZY reels there, but we will never see these in the US.
  5. I've used the hi seas fluoro I picked up bothin in 8lb and 12lb, and it was the limpest I've seen. The next best has been the sunline, but its just way to expensive. I don't use the kvd conditioner all the time, but I'll put it on every once in a while just out of habit. With the hi seas, I have not had to use it much, and have had that 8lb on a spinning reel for about a month and still has almost no memory on it.
  6. I have two Sahara 750's that I have spool with hi-seas 6lb Fluoro line, and an old 1000 series sonara I had. I think 8lb would be tough for a reel that small. The strength on this 6lb is unreal, I have put other 8lb fluoros on a 2000 series, thats the smallest I've wanted to go. Even with the small spool, the memory on it is pretty much non-exsistent. I don't load up the spool completely. I leave a little gap, maybe a little less than an 1/8" to the lip of the spool. I put some kvd conditioner on it every once in a while, and it lasts a long time for me. Hope this helps!
  7. I have a question, and maybe I should have started a new thread, but why does everyone rave about Vicious lines? I have felt them, and they are really stiff, and rough. I have also seen the line during the bad batch a couple months ago, which I believe had a big run of dirt in their extruders. I'm just curious, not knocking it. Thanks!
  8. Hello, this is my first time posting, but I'd figure I would chime in here. I pick up some line called White Lightning by hi seas. I've seen some talk around here about it before. But, its a copolymer, true test. It is super thing though, I use 12lb, but it has the diameter of normal 8lb monos. Ultra sensitive! And fluorescent. I recently started using the 4lb. for trout, found it in a local shop around here. Check it out.
